Kwatchi got a reaction from ScummyRebel in Star Wars Miniatures moving to Atomic Mass Games
Well I am now resigned to the fact Legion game play will be reworked. My gaming group having been talking and we're putting Legion into wait and see mode even though we're casual skirmish players. Warmachine had a bad habit of fluctuating unit power levels up and down to create sales, so no new purchases for a while.

Like most, I'm not sure what to make of this. My first thought was that this was corporate raider 101 - separate corporate assets into smaller, sell-able units.
Hot housing all the TT games in one group seems like a smart move, but I was never overly impressed by Will Shick's era of Warmachine (not sure how much creative control he actually had mind you and PP looks like a down-trending company of late). A bit of a toss up there for me.
CP minis have always looked iffy compared to the Knight Model's Marvel minis* and the most recent Legion hard plastic is quite good (ok, B1s were tricky to assemble), so I certainly hope we get to keep the Legion design and production staff. Frankly I am hoping the Marvel CP minis quality improves because of this and some of my game group have been pushing for us to try it.
*The story behind KM's losing the Marvel TT license is pretty hilarious. One of the dumbest series of business decisions in gaming.

Kwatchi reacted to TheGoldfinch in Looking for fleet trooper helmet headswaps
Thought I'd share some mediocre, harshly lit pics of the results of the headswaps
The neckseams aren't perfect on some of the troopers, but overall I am happy with the results!

It is a bit of a jerk move to not offer a pack of generic, non-premium bases though

Kwatchi got a reaction from Atromix in The Clone Wars Season 7
I wouldn’t go that far. The ending revelation was telegraphed far too much and CF 99 are very tropey (is that a word?). I’d say it was a solid exposition building block episode.
Personally, I have higher hopes for the final four episodes, with Filoni so committed in exploring Mandalorians across all of his three series. I am betting Bo-Katan Kryse will make a re-appearance for back story reasons.

Kwatchi got a reaction from BenBot in Rebels, how do we deal with armour?
I wholeheartedly agree. My rebels have danced away from every chicken walker and pickup truck tank they’ve ever faced, and won far more than they’ve lost.
The exception for me was a double Dewback list I faced in a recent skirmish game. I had double Wookies so decided to duke it out. I couldn’t help myself!

Makes a thread asking how people plan to use a model then bashes other people's ideas. Could be why you aggravate some on these forums.

Kwatchi reacted to MajinSnake in Lego Star Wars Legion - fan made adaptation
If you are interested in Lego adaptations, I'm about to bring one to life.
Just to sum things up, I'm not really a Legion player. I've been collecting Clone Wars era Legos for about 15 years, but as years go on I feel I'm heading towards being the kind of dad that doesn't want his children to touch his Legos. Like in the Lego movie. And well, I don't want to be that kind of dad. So for some years I've been looking a board or Warhammer-like game thad had rules I could adapt for my Legos, to share these Legos with my kids and not leave them to rot in a showcase. I then found out there was a game called Star Wars : Legion with a Clone Wars expansion just about to launch !
Now I pick all CW expansions, keep the tokens, rules and cards and give my father the minis, since he's into dioramas, painting and all. So yeah, kind of the reverse process you'd expect. I'm testing the look of units, and plan to make a few scenarios based on films, once tanks, B2s and Phase 2 are out. I'll start with Geonosis and Kashyyyk.

Kwatchi reacted to TauntaunScout in SWL dead???
Any situation with the head of state personally sabotaging a moisture vaporator. Or where Greedo kills Yoda. Unique heroes don’t belong on the tabletop IMO.
The SW D6 charts took up like 2 pages and were rarely used after a couple games.
Not using the same colors would be a start.
“Mundanes” are people who have never played this type of game, ie, normal people.

Kwatchi reacted to Kirjath08 in SWL dead???
I have always taken Legion to be an abstraction. I play the CIS army. We're supposed to have thousands of battle droids compared to how many clones get fielded, but the reality is much different; I have two more droids then my opponent has clones, per squad.
I am actually fine with this. Even more, I like the abstraction. I still have way more droids (in model count, usually) then my opponent does clones, so it looks like I'm severely outnumbering him (whether or not we have the same activation count). This is an abstraction of the actual battle at hand, and I think it works just fine. It's Obi and his clones vs. Grievous and a larger army of droids marching at them. Even the objectives simulate things like capturing the shield bunker on Endor, or breaking through the opposing line to outflank their other positions. It's all simulated in a much smaller wargame, and I think FFG is doing alright with it.
If Legion was a game that involved fielding actual legions of models, I never would have picked up the hobby, because even plastic (and storage) gets expensive. So the units are toned down in terms of model count and the game doesn't take five hours to play.

Kwatchi got a reaction from PikminToo in French Leaks
I won’t lie - Clan Wren got my very enthusiastic attention after months of my disappointment about missed release dates. Really looking forward to this... if true.
I’m not a prequel fan, but ep2 Padme might be a fun paint project with my daughter.

Kwatchi got a reaction from weebaer in The Rise Of Skywalker on Disney+ May 4th
So true. If you think the backlash against Rose was bad, the amount of Jar Jar fan hate drove Ahmed Best into depression. Tack on a stalker-like creepy love story and some gawd awful dialog/delivery 30% of the time, and viewers like me walked out complaining about a lot. Only difference I guess was we were desperate back then for anything SW so we overlooked the warts to concentrate on the good stuff.
Sweet Jeebus, nsync's Joey Fatone appears in AotC to make a producer's daughter happy.
When I watched the prequels with my 13yo daughter for the first time this summer, by mid ep 2 she asked me to skip all the Anakin & Padme scenes 'cuz they were so cringe worthy. She was right to do so.
