I literally bought the Core set yesterday. I hadn't noticed that they were linked when I wrote it.
Am not Rey, need time to learn things.

I'm trying to pin down the thought process here:
    1. Boba Fett is popular because he looks cool in his armor.
    2. Boba Fett is declared to wear Mandalorian armor. He's the entire reason for Mandalorians existing.
    3. Random throwaway line makes him not really Mandalorian despite him being the only reason Mandalorians exist.
Should have just retconned out Mandalorians altogether if you're gonna mangle crap up that badly.

I would argue Starkiller was just as big a Sue if not moreso than Rey (being Vader's super secret apprentice that Palpatine somehow didn't know about and retconned into the founder of the Alliance in the old EU) and he was a dude.
A Mary Sue is specifically someone who the universe bends over backward to let them win and be special. Wesley Crusher is a self insert for Roddenberry but considering how many times he's wrong in order to learn something you'd be hard pressed to convince me he's a Sue.
The sequel trilogy has a lot of problems with tone and writing. None of these faults fall on the actors shoulders, and I think the cast is excellent but hampered by baffling High School fanfic tier ideas and a lack of substance. I have a lot of problems with the sequels, but they all are the fault of the people behind the cameras. It's a similar situation to the prequels- Portman and Christiansen are fine actors in other roles but George let them down by surrounding himself with yes men that wouldn't challenge his dull dialogue and cheesy character direction (and FWIW Hayden at least has some great scenes in ROTS amd Portman's "No confidence" speech is pretty great.). I feel something similar is going on at Lucasfilm with JJ.

Deal with what? Strong characters have flaws and just because someone is "strong" (a vague weasel word if there ever was one) that doesn't mean they're capable of doing everything themselves. Luke can't take down the Death Star without help from Han, and he can only take down one AT-AT by himself, so Wedge and Hobbie have to do the lifting. And without the crew of the Falcon's intervention Leia was scheduled for immediate execution. One person, completely unarmed and untrained, is going to escape a battle station on her own? I mean the only reason the Falcon got out was because the Empire put a tracking device on board.
But don't let actually having seen the film get in the way of your waifu worship.

"Maybe you'd like it back in your cell, princess."
It seems that a lot of people forget the Death Star rescue was a spur of the moment thing with very little if any planning carried out by an aged Jedi, an inexperienced farmboy, a pair of mercenaries and some droids. They were there to deliver Kenobi and the plans to Leia on Alderaan. Circumstances dictated that wouldn't be what went down, but it's not like you had a trained and prepared team. Leia certainly seized the moment a few times like providing cover fire on the bridge, but the fun of the rescue is that it's like the Indiana Jones mine cart chase. It's always one step away from failing horribly.
The movie's novelization give a great quote from Leia concerning the rescue at the end of the prologue: "They were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Naturally they became heroes."

What's your favorite Star Wars book/video game/comic/ etc?
For books, my favorites are probably the X-Wing novels. For games I'm torn between Dark Forces and TIE Fighter (both hit at pretty much the start of me getting heavily into star wars when I was young) and played a LOT of Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike (and the multiplayer version of the former embedded in the latter) during High School.

The things are SUPPOSED to be prohibitively costly. That’s why mass-production didn’t really happen. Once Thrawn wasn’t around to back them it didn’t add up to the powers that be. So from the perspective of wanting 3 in a list I’ll just say no.
However I do agree that the white K is a little boring, though boost changes that MASSIVELY, as does Advanced Sensors (which would be taken all the time if it weren’t so overpriced). Still, a red stop would be more interesting for a fighter.
I definitely wouldn’t give it an Interceptor dial. Closest I could see is something like the Lancer with blue 3-turns. Full throttle is a little lame but thematic to the title (Defender) and design (heavy shields, crazy fast).
If we dropped both of those, a 4 primary or 4 agility would be interesting to keep it at the 70+ point mark. Would render secondary weapons useless though without a 2.0-linked-battery-style ability.
My take? I LOVE it as is. It is a ship that can do anything (but not everything) and is so expensive as to be stupid except in the right hands. It needs support/coordination in order to thrive, or else it’s just the model of jousting power at a price point that doesn’t quite add up.

That's understandable, especially considering I believe you said that you were not into the comics at all. I'm 41, and have been an avid comics reader since my early teens, I stopped collecting a few years before Iron Man came out, as being a family man meant funds had to be re-appropriated elsewhere. But I still have a connection to the characters and the stories.
Iron Man was widely seen by comic fans as a great adaptation of the material, compared to previous attempts to adapt comics to the screen, many failed to grab the feeling that comic fans were looking for. The MCU was a series of hits with fans, with a couple stumbles, but overall they kept to the feeling that fans were looking for from the characters and the growing interconnected universe.
The Infinity Gauntlet series was originally written in 1991, and was a major comic event back in the prime of my comic reading days, I was probably around 13-14 at the time. Realizing early on what the background story that was slowly burning was exciting and getting to see the payoff with awesome special effects and good actors was a huge thing for me, but I have many years of being a fan. Infinity War and Endgame were the big stories and heroes of my childhood adapted pretty faithfully to the bigscreen.
If you didn't have that same kind of emotional connection to the comic stories, its understandable that there would not have been the same emotional connection to the movie characters and the story like others might have.  As well, there is nothing that says you need to like all pop culture, there is no need to try to like them. I mean, I don't like Dr. Who, but it has a huge fanbase and I don't begrudge them enjoying something I don't.

Can we petition ffg to print the second edition gun boat? I mean this thing is seriously impossible to find new, and is like 50 dollars on the second hand market, it's ridiculous especially since they'll be worth like 10 once the second edition ones come out. I have one but would love a few more and it's even worse for new players who don't have any or someone who didn't get one when they were out.

Feels Awesome: Starting X-Wing and learning that your favorite ship from TIE Fighter is in the game.
Feels Bad: Starting X-Wing too late to buy your favorite ship from TIE Fighter.

If anybody would be willing to trade one for, say, a Guns for Hire, let me know.

Thrawn trilogy, like everyone else said. Haven't bothered with new canon. Too hard to try and let go of the EU I put time and money into before Disney Lucasfilm went "lol **** you none of that counts anymore". Yes, I'm bitter about that.

Can we just not go there? Seriously, there's no need to throw politics into this stuff. Talk about the movies, comics, games, even Lucas film and Disney, but please no IRL politics. We in-fight as fans enough, so please try to keep something this incendiary far away from the forum.
