  1. Wedge at I6 with Predator and Outmaneuver would make me..... happy. Even if a 2 die gun lol.
  2. I would like an I5 or I6 A-Wing pilot with the pilot ability to hard boost. One of the things that keeps RZ2s so good is time on target. I think thematically that’s so cool. Pulling all these super fast tight turns. True ace feeling. Yeah you could equip Daredevil, but it’d be cool to focus hard boost link.
  3. 3 L Bank+Boost or BR with Fenn, and he can use that cloud as a watershed. If they turn on him, then it means that they completely put their backs to Guri. Stall still with Guri. 1 Fwd. Modified with Boost or BR as needed.
  4. I guess it could be very artificially be made short by making a 150 pt format... 🤷‍♂️ Again, as another format not an overhaul...
  5. Adv Sen really keeps Kanan a threat. Otherwise, between bumping, obstacles, and K-turning he would only get about 2 actions a game... 🤣 Also Sense Arvel is.... wonderful. Lol. It really works well for zoning aces. The nice thing is people just can’t ignore the other two ships. Most of the time Luke just flies right into the fray and never gets shot. Kanan with his double mod big guns goes down. But he always trades well, and Luke gets to the endgame normally untouched. Your other option is Biggs... I’ve been pondering it... but the TL before a K-turn or a reinforce before a bump has just proved too valuable to me. 🤔 You could slim Luke down too.... hmmmm (61) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing] (4) R5 Astromech (0) Servomotor S-foils Points: 65 (76) Kanan Jarrus [VCX-100 Light Freighter] (10) Advanced Sensors (2) Dorsal Turret Points: 88 (47) Biggs Darklighter [T-65 X-wing] (0) Servomotor S-foils Points: 47 Total points: 200
  6. If you look at it this way you may feel better.... Statistically: Reinforce = 1 Evade 3 greens not modded = 1 evade 2 greens with focus = 1 evade Reinforce ships plus high hull just equals a guaranteed number of rounds. There’s no lucky 3 evades but there’s also no unlucky 3 blanks. It’s consistent. Against 7 shots, Ghost reinforced will likely fair better than an awing with only one focus.
  7. You highlighted the basic strategy of my latest Rebel list love.... FAT Luke. Luke in the endgame is so so good. Fat Bois! (61) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing] (4) R5 Astromech (0) Servomotor S-foils (5) Sense (5) Hull Upgrade Points: 75 (76) Kanan Jarrus [VCX-100 Light Freighter] (10) Advanced Sensors (2) Dorsal Turret Points: 88 (32) Arvel Crynyd [RZ-1 A-wing] (3) Intimidation (2) Predator Points: 37 Total points: 200
  8. Ok... just can’t stay away from Kanan! And I’ve recently gotten into playing Fat Luke. Basically Kanan’s only job is getting Luke to the endgame. Sense Arvel = happiness. Fat Bois! (61) Luke Skywalker [T-65 X-wing] (4) R5 Astromech (0) Servomotor S-foils (5) Sense (5) Hull Upgrade Points: 75 (76) Kanan Jarrus [VCX-100 Light Freighter] (10) Advanced Sensors (2) Dorsal Turret Points: 88 (32) Arvel Crynyd [RZ-1 A-wing] (3) Intimidation (2) Predator Points: 37 Total points: 200
  9. Lol. No offense meant.... but you either don’t play swarms, don’t play aces, or your local meta is entirely different than mine! 🤣👍 ACE PLAYERS ARE THE WORST ABOUT DIAL SET TIME!!! And no offense to them they lose if they miss one beat. I get it. Also new players tend to set dials faster in my experience. So I like and agree with your other points... what’s your suggestion to a path of change? Obviously any change will not be perfect... otherwise we’d be doing it. As a whole leave things as is? Or accept the drawbacks for something new? Also, I’m suggesting too that this could be a format choice not a total core revamp. So we could play a Complete Destruction event just for change of pace.
  10. First off, this is just a post about general ponderings and musings regarding the game. I invite you to share yours. Generally, however, I am very satisfied with 2.0, the meta, and the fun of the current dog-fighting deathmatch. Hyper/Ext both have their place and points changes keep things fresh. That being said... X-Wing has evolved. I remember back in the 2014-2015 days (or even earlier) when we played and had win by complete destruction in something like 40-50 minutes. Fun times. We as a community have generally all become little X-wing chess masters, and have learned the value of moving slow, the vast importance of the first engagement and initial positioning, and to trust our dials more than our dice. Lets be honest: games rarely ever end by destruction anymore. There are recent major GSP events that the final 2 hour match ends with still half of the ships on the table. Also, the points are generally promoting higher ship count builds. I think its still 80 percent play style though. If we throw any two builds at each other's throats, they'll generally clear each other up in 75 minutes. I don't lament this too much, honestly, but it does make me wonder if there would be a way to jump start things in another direction that rewarded speed of play/destruction. An option could be to run as a new format (FFG/AMG sponsored or just done on a local level), thus keeping the standard game intact, or even just a mix of scoring options within an event. So, in other words, the cut may use a different means of scoring than the finals, etc. A Couple of Ideas Dials Down! The first player to have dials down gets to give a calculate token to any ship. (I think this is most likely to be a local fun-times add-on to league night.) Complete Destruction Basically reverse the scoring priority order of the standard tournament. Points destroyed determines your ranking, not wins. Wins only break ties. So, example, I may lose a game 200 - 150, but I may be ranked higher than a player than won his game 16 - 0. So, if its 4 games to the cut and I have these results (my scores first): 100-200(L); 150-100 (W); 100-100 (D); 185-165 (W), then my score to the cut would be 535 (Wx2). I think this would really increase the pace of play, aggression, and keep things interesting even when you're losing a match. It would be the death knell of the Super Ace list archetype that relies on snatching the win by points alone, so they may have to be adjusted in points a bit. And I could see a mix of scoring here. To the cut by this method and then standard scoring for the Final Cut. Be a punchy beginning, but ending with a cagey finish. (BTW, this is not my idea) Objectives Not a knew topic here, but my flavor of idea... I was pondering the possibility of each faction having a set number of Objective Cards. Say 8. They would focus on the particular identity of that faction. There could be a couple generic ones that are similar across factions. The sky's the limit on creativity within each faction. For a tournament, you must bring 3 of your Objective Cards. They are reveled to your opponent, and he reveals his 3 to you. Then you each choose one Objective secretly, placing it facedown in the play area. If you achieve you objective you get an additional 30 points to your score. Ideas (share yours, I'll add others later on, I gotta go for now) Rebels "When your fist ship is destroyed, if all of your other ships have at least one damage, you complete this objective."
  11. @ForrestGrump My vote: The bumps will just naturally happen. Do what you will with the 5 points. (72) Kath Scarlet [Firespray-class Patrol Craft] Points: 72 (41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter] Points: 41 (41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter] Points: 41 (41) Zealous Recruit [Fang Fighter] Points: 41 Total points: 195
  12. This is a BEAST! 🤪 Fenn Rau + Drea/Dorsal + 3x Scyk with Autoblasters. You can swap your ace out if you’re better flying something else.
  13. @Nyxen Try deleting everything in the image link back to “.png” But I imagine I know what the image is... 😜🤣 yup.....
  14. When compared to 25 point TIE/fo and Scyks and Torrents.... Idk... I just feel the TIE/ln is expensive at 22 points....
  15. Hmmmm.... depends on if this is a once per opportunity situation or if force is spent as a single event each time per focus result.
  16. I’m excited for some batreps on this. I think it is inherently more brawly which in my mine equals more fun. I’ve said it for a while.... and in this situation/list I may be wrong, but if Poe and Nien were the same price I’d still take Nien. Actually.... they basically are as Nien with PA is 60.
  17. Fascinating.... I offended myself by sending the other guy to Hades. I did not recant for saying ol Thin Mustache would go to heaven. 🧐 I’ll be back tomorrow... 👍
  18. Oh certainly not. It’s not a magical formula that somehow tricks God into you going to heaven. Side note: in a million years it won’t matter don’t worry. 😉😁
  19. I’ll do an article later on the severity of Hitler’s sin. Just hitler because he’s such a modern archetype of evil..... it will be interesting. And may help you understand Hitler going to heaven if he asked God’s favor.
  20. While I understand this is an intellectual exercise more for funsies... I must recant this. It is ABSOLUTELY god’s business who goes to H or H. All I can do is try my best to be honest with my own soul, beg his patience, ask his favor, and try my best to follow. I know what I’ve been commanded, it is entirely overstepping my bounds to say what god will do with a soul he formed.
  21. 1) Hitler would go to heaven. 2) Assuming he did not acknowledge God in his life... toasty warm rest of his existence. Christianity holds in brief: 1) ALL have sinned and deserve death 2) We are unable to fix the situation or be independently righteous to perfection. Even our good works are fruitless to affect our own salvation 3) God can save us via his mercy and love for us (in the biblical story the Crucifixion is important here) 4) God does not force us into his grace, he desires free choice 5) We must request his salvation 6) God promises eternal life and resurrection “good things” come from our love of god and desire to obey. The Christian way of loving god is directly stated to be in loving fellow man.
  22. A) Granted. But I have yet to meet someone who is atheist/agnostic that does not use “evolution = no god.” Not saying that that’s impossible, just not common in my life experience. And this isn’t entirely true because several atheists DO use evolution to argue for gods non-existence. B) I’m not saying that believing in YHWH = no more risk at point of death. But believing in no god does place you in the either you’re right or you await an afterlife, whatever that entails. C) Merely stating here that human understanding can be flawed on either subject. D)(a) Point here is constructs such as “good” and “bad” don’t even matter. If there’s no judgement/reward of the wicked/righteous then there’s no real morals. If you want to be a dictator and murder innocent people or a saint that feeds the poor, go ahead. Do what you will. Both die, cease to exist. The reward for a life well lived is not that life — it’s just death. Same reward as the wicked. By definition you cannot be more nihilistic than atheism... because literally nothing matters. D)(b) To help you understand Christian charity and good deeds I will use an analogy. I’ll mention that this will mean more if you have a genuinely good relationship with your parents and your children. If not, I’m sorry, but imagine the ideal. My infant/toddler children began obeying my direction for a very simple reason: bad things (from their tiny perspectives) happened to them when they did not obey my voice. Little punishments and disciplines that modified their behaviors. They obeyed to avoid the unpleasantness of disobedience. (*Don’t assume bad or weird things here, regardless of your parental choices of discipline, the principle is the same. Bare in mind I’m a loving parent*) As they grew older, the began to gain understanding and this motivated their obedience but still mixed with the juvenile fear consequences. They didn’t just fear playing in the street because of Daddy disciplining them, they learned about cars. As they grew older they really stopped fearing me at all. What motivated their obedience to me was a sharing in my parental wisdom (obviously classic growing pains occur here as wills compete). They began recognizing that my commands to them were motivated out of my desire to help them and based on my own life’s experiences. Finally, my children will one day “obey” me (obviously the application here alters in adulthood) for the sole reason of no not fear, or understanding the reason, or seeking the wisdom.... rather simply because they love me. Tho as a parent I cannot attest to this yet, I can as a son to my father. This serves as analogy to help understand obedience to God, a Heavenly Father. Eternal punishment is a great reason to obey, but once you begin obeying, your reasons for doing so does not remain in the infancy stage. It matures. (D)(c) Actually heaven isn’t life 2.0 really it’s more like actual life. That this life is sleeping in the matrix but real life is on the other side of this barrier of death. Like a good doctor, Christianity doesn’t lie about the condition of this life: it is broken and sick and evil. It does offer the hope of a cure, though. The only remaining question:
