  1. Thanks for information. It's sad this had to happen.
  2. Like everyone else, I signed up for the Campaign Against Cancer expecting the event to take place in May. Now the event has been moved to July 18th (hopefully). The location I signed up for was Jacksonville, Florida but it looks like I might be in the San Diego area on July 18th. Is there anyway to switch locations so I may participate?
  3. I have had some moderate success with the following list but I was wondering what I could do to take it to the next level. Torkil Mux with Perceptive Copilot, Engine Upgrade, Hull Upgrade, and Moldy Crow (71) Torani Kulda with Contraband Cybernetics and Crack Shot (51) Black Sun Ace with Contraband Cybernetics and Crack Shot (43) Laetin A'shera with Crack Shot (31) 196 points
  4. I flew the following in my LGS and got routed: Kazuda Xiono with R1-J5, Targeting Computer, Heroic, and Kaz's Fireball 2x Red Squadron Experts with Integrated S-Foils, Heroic, and Pattern Analyzer Greer Sonnel with Heroic, Crack Shot, and Advanced Optics The X-Wings died very quickly leaving the A-Wing and Fireball to take on four Rebel ships including K-2SO, which was very troublesome. Kaz with R1-J5 and Kaz's Fireball could be a potent force with the right support ships. I'm thinking three A-Wings.
  5. Agreed. Feedback like this is what I am seeking. Thank you.
  6. I rather like the first list because of its simplicity and learning pilot abilities. I have flown the Two-Tube brothers many times myself and doesn't take much practice to master their abilities.
  7. Everything will be new and therefore 2.0. He will not need any conversion kits unless he decides later to incorporate 1.0 ships into his fleet and will need to purchase a conversion kit. My goal was to start him off with a collection of small-based ships and one medium-based ship that could endure some punishment so he could stay in a game for a longer period of time so he may learn. I may also give him one of my B-Wings with the appropriate cards to give him another option of using a rather tanky ship.
  8. My son expressed some interest in playing X-Wing so I got him what I believe are the best ships to start with (all Rebels): Core Set (X-Wing) Saw’s Renegades (X-Wing & U-Wing) Y-Wing (Rebel version) I have often thought using two X-Wings, a U-Wing, and a Y-Wing can teach one the basics of ship handling and gradually moving up to using different abilities such as secondary weapons, Force users, talents, upgrades, bombs, etc... as one improves their skill as a player. What I am interested in is what would be a good list to start out with using the above ships.
  9. I have succumbed to the dark side of the Force this past Christmas and received the following ships: 1 - TIE Advanced x1 1 - TIe/sk Striker 3 - TIE Advanced v1s What viable lists could be built with variations of the five ships listed above?
  10. Being new to Epic, I am not sure how to build an Epic fleet around a Scum C-ROC. The best model I can think of is basing this fleet on a World War II Task Force. Typically a task force consisted of a carrier (C-ROC or similar ship), a cruiser (Firespray or other median-based ship), destroyer squadron (four Z-95s or similar ships), and other warships as needed, such as submarines (two Starvipers). The question is this a good way to build an Epic fleet?
  11. In a match at my LGS this situation occurred. I used Dengar Gunner's ability to counter attack my opponent. My die came up Focus and I still had a focus. My opponent told me I could not spend the focus to change the die to a Hit. I just looked through the Rules Reference and did not see anything about it. The card says on a Hit or Critical Hit the opponent suffers one damage but says nothing about not modifying dice. Can a Focus result in this attack be changed?
  12. Any chance these tips could be updated to 2.0 and the newer factions?
  13. I used to think Torrents were worthless cannon fodder until I started using them to fill out lists. As I played the Torrents, I found they are often ignored as opponents go after more dangerous ships. This allows the Torrents to use their modest attack to some effect. In my last match, a Torrent actually fired the shots into an opponent's last ship, gaining half points for me and forcing my opponent to concede. Don't discount Torrents.
  14. I am still trying to narrow a "Go To" Republic list that can stay in a fight and can be forgiving of mistakes. Which of the following three lists would be a rather potent force to contend with. I have been flying the following list for the past few weeks with some success. On the plus side is there is a lot of hull and shields to chew through, which keeps me in the game and helps with covering ship handling mistakes. The downside is this list could have more punch to kill tougher ships. 15. Guess FFG wanted to get into the damage deck money grab. I have both rebel and scum damage decks along with a couple of large-sized damage decks that I got at various tournaments.
