  1. So, I was just brain storming another Sloan list(cause Sloan is great), and I thought "what if I did a Corruptor range 8 bomber alpha strike, but without having to use a Vic and also getting to use Sloan?" So I thought Chimaera is a good way to do that, plus after that initial snipe I can swap to any of the other commands for free. The idea to 5 tie fighters sloan striking at range 8 is basically deploy one of the ISDs(the Kuat Avenger)at the edge of your deployment, then drop all the tie fighters at range 2 of the Avenger. Then, turn one you strategic advisor ad then next activation is sending 5 squads at speed 5 with an attack range of 1(for your 2+5+1=range 8 ) to at least pop some shields from a ship. Then you get to move the Avenger speed 3 and start setting up some shots for later on. Chances are your opponent will choose Contested Outpost for the scenario, so you can also just sit the Chimaera on the outpost for some points. The blaring problem with this list is that if you're playing against a squad heavy fleet those poor ties are going to die and once they are gone they are gone, so best case scenario against squads is you can get 10 blue Sloan shots on turn one, and then they all die(an 84 point sacrifice). You could hold the squads back a turn or two so that they have the support of the ISDs, but that defeats the purpose of the alpha strike. Fixed it up, got Saber squad and Zetrik as squad defense, the 5 hull and 2 brace should keep the rest of the ties alive for some time, and to engage Zetrik is to be hit by the counter from Dengar, and as many tie fighters as it takes to destroy enemy fighters. Not sure if I would run superior positions with just 5 tie fighters, as they will most likely get blasted out of the sky before they can reach the enemies flanks, especially unsipported as the Onagers want to sit back and shoot from as far away as possible. Maybe even drop 1 tie and run 4 Interceptors, then swap the blue for somthing else.
  6. Stronghold Quasar 1 is noice for protecting your tie swarms.
  7. Really depends on your local meta. The folks around me usually run(as in like 2 months ago when I was able to play with them, feels bad) a couple aces or no squads, and I know some places are just all squads, so find out what the locals run, and counter it. One of the fun parts of armada is the constantly changing meta. 1 person comes up with a great list, someone makes a list to beat it, so someone makes a list to beat that list, and the meta keeps changing. And, there is nothing wrong with a good ol Tie fighter swarm!
  8. Maybe CIS could have Bounty Hunters, Cad Bane as the boss man, then the lady bounty hunter, the frisbee head, and the Big ol Robo dude.
  9. So, I adapted my old sloan list with the new Reserve Hanger Decks, and with a Gozanti in place of the Raider I just flew around the entire battle last tourney. The idea is if I go first, I get to snipe a ship with 4 ties and Maarek, which either delete some shields or I can clear some defense tokens for the Avenger. If I get second player, then I get my cards(probably gonna swap out cap the VIP later). I am going to fly the Avenger side by side with the Stronghold, keeping every squad in Strongholds happy bubble, and the Suppressor will probably just chill up front with the squads. And then, you know, squads do their Sloany thing, and the Avenger pew pews. Let me know what you think, and what I should replace the yellow card with? I would love a 4 mini Operative/Commander box for each faction, with 1 commander that can also be taken as an operative, but the operative version can be a taken with the 3 other minis as counter parts. With the Empire having Inferno squad, the Rebels having the remaining ghost crew, the CIS having... I don't know, really... and the Republic having Delta squad.
  11. I mean, she only goes traitor AFTER the second Death Star's destruction, and even then it was some time till she jumped sides. Which means that she was a loyalist from presumably the beginning, since they are spec ops who are known by name to the rebels, and they ask Leiah for forgiveness when joining the rebels, implying that they have done some bad stuff to the rebellion.

  13. This Saturday I am going to try and go to a local tourney, and I was wondering which of these two lists I should run, and any ideas for either of them. Both or focused on lots of small ships, with a MC80 Liberty hanging out with them to finish of whatever the lil guys can't get(never been super into Liberty's, but my partner in a team tourney ran his really well, and I want to give it a try). Turbolaser Reroute Circuits on CR90As are sooo good, and holding back with them generally is not using the best part about them, the part where they are able to fly in, shoot, and then fly around and shoot again, and again, and again. Speed 4 CR90s that are throwing 2-5 dice that will always score at least 2 hits is a big pain, especially when they can drain your sheilds on one side of you ship just to fly out of range or move to another side.
  15. Thanks, updated the list a bit, let me know what you think. I am planning on keeping all of the ties within range 1-2 of Pursuant and Dengar, so that only flak shots with 2 or more dice have a chance of hitting them, and I am not to worried about other squads, as they can shoot a tie fighter a turn, while all of them have Counter, Swarm, multiple Ties able to fight squadrons AND when they are near Dengar, enemy fighters are Heavy, so we can just ignore them and focus on ships. Grint will have a Squadron Token on him, so I will always be activating 6 squads with a squad command. The Star Destroyer can shoot or push squads, depending on what is needed, and the Raider can do it's thing.
