Not as keen on this scheme, but wanted something different.  After spending too much time on the test model, it's time to call it, "good enough."  Another six to go primered in this fashion.

I'm enjoying this thread -- and yes the E-Web especially appeals to me.  Love the off-black / metal of the weapon.  The subtle and weathered white on the Snow Troopers looks great too.

****, fantastic.  All the way down to the texture and color on the desert basing.  Keep it flowing please!

Love this work. Is the tank airbrushed? The subtle changes in color gradient are amazing.

    Greetings,
I've opted to avoid White and certain other traditional Imperial Colors, replacing with a more gritty and grim approach.
    Thoughts and constructive criticism welcome.

I love what you are doing here.  My desert bases are very similar.

I'd prefer a full black on the rims of the Imperial bases, I find the lighter color a bit distracting.  But that is just a nit picky personal preference.

    Keep 'em coming

I recently completed the Bossk operative and there's a few more pics on my blog (including a comparison with the Shapeways Bossk). Check them out here:

Dodge and Cover cancellations happen immediately after the attacker is done re-rolling with aim tokens and converting surges, before the defender rolls defense dice.
Me and my friend got this wrong our first game because we were so used to X-wing attack flowchart, and rolled too many defense dice as a result.
I also heard of a couple of friends of mine that played their first game and thought that all units could only roll ONE defense die because that's what the card shows in the graphic.  You roll a number of defense dice equal to the remaining hits and crits after dodge/cover and impact/armor take effect.

First off, I need to echo what has been said about splitting a second core set. Actually, just buying a second core set even if you never do anything with one half of the faction is still a good deal (You have 3 $25 units for each faction plus 3 $15 accessories), but if you can split the cost, so much the better.
As far as other rebel purchases go...
-Fleet Troopers pack a lot of punch with their close range guns. Just don't expect to use their standby effect unless you use Han's diversion to make shooting them impossible.
-Leia is great. Han also has some cool effects, but there is some concern the upcoming release of Jyn Erso will crowd him out. Personally, I think it depends on the type of terrain you play with. Han is fantastic if you get him dug into the thick of things in an environment with lots of light cover, but suffers in a long range shooting gallery filled with heavy cover.
-The T-47 Airspeeder... has the firepower of 1 unit of imperial speeder bikes, the durability of perhaps 1.5 units of imperial speeder bikes, and is really upgrade hungry. Unfortunately, it costs almost twice as much as a unit of speeder bikes. It can do work, but most people would rather spend points on a unit that does something unique or just really well, rather than an inefficient knockoff of another faction's unit. Unfortunately, they fair particularly poorly against many Imperial units until they've been battered down, so you need to keep it hidden away from the fight until the Imperial Forces have been worn down, so it's going to struggle against your buddy once he has a full army.
-Rebel Commandos can be a terrifying glass cannon (hits like a truck, but very fragile) and/or a small annoying filler unit. Sniper teams are everywhere at the moment, although I'd personally discourage their use in friendly games as I really don't enjoy the tedious sniper duels that their proliferation causes.
-The Radar Dish gun is a solid way to lay down heavy firepower at long range.
-Chewbacca looks interesting and has some (only partially revealed) synergy with the 3 existing Rebel Commanders (Han+Chewie in particular looks like a lot of fun). He and his Wookiee brethren won't be in stores until mid-late December, though.
-Wookiee Warriors are a beefy melee unit. Not mandatory, but definately worth considering if you like the idea of a whole unit of walking carpets tearing up the place.
-The upcoming Specialist expansion includes a generic commander if you want to create a story about your own Rebel Leader as well as a number of new personnel upgrades that can be used to expand what your corps units can do. Worth a look once you've got a decent number of models, but not a great value in terms of points/dollar.
-The newly revealed Jyn Erso and Rebel Pathfinder expansions aren't due out until February, but do offer some interesting options. Jyn Erso looks terrifying even with some of her stuff still unrevealed, and the Pathfinders have some very interesting mechanics.
So, in short, any Rebel expansion apart from the Airspeeder is decent, and even that can still work.

There’s a chance it will come into its own eventually. The game has a lot of maturing to do. Right now, you can play “the best” team for your faction. Eventually that will get very muddied with new units and keywords. I’d bet on a fix for the heavy vehicles down the line.

I hope they at least invest the staff hours into a demo table or 2 in the dealers hall.  I was there two  years ago and people were really having a good time with learning the basics.
