  1. Competitive LCG set in the Dune universe. Please. Tie it into the upcoming film and it will be huge IMO. Imagine the intrigue and politics at the table. So much opportunity here...
  2. PS I forgot to dust and weather their lower legs, just noticed that!
  3. These lads were in bad shape -- gunked up and stripped of paint, with some decomposition and residue remaining. As a result, I did my best with contrast. Tell me what you think of the overall effect, with the starting condition kept in mind.
  4. Thank you for the feedback @SFC Snuffy and @Sharkbelly. I agree going a metallic on the breast plate is regrettable on my part. With a gloss and matte finish already applied, I should probably leave it alone lest I potentially mess it up. I wish I would of tried the Black contrast on it, to gently juxtapose a difference with the grey. Ever forward, however, and I'm glad you both liked some of the results. This paint range is pleasant and satisfying, but also a learning curve!
  5. Greetings all, Enclosed is some experimentation I'm opting to share with the GW Contrast range. I Used Admin - Grey on his uniform, and some black on the helmet and holster/gun. Flesh is contrast as well. traditional paints: Boots are black with coal black P3 highlight. The chest plate, which I regret a bit, is just a standard metallic with Badab Black wash. I wish I would of done black contrast on it as well. Regardless he's an example of what grey and black looks like with the range. Feedback welcome.
  6. Many thanks Cleto0 and @Eruletho, It's good to be informed and shore troopers are next on the list. I really enjoy the look of the tank so it's helpful to know the choice is solid -- when I'm ready for it. I plan on a really dirty, streaked and chipped exterior which will be so much fun to paint and model. I'll post fresh questions if I have them later, time to start experimenting with lists on my own. Cheers gents.
  7. Excellent everyone, thanks again. One more question while we're at it -- heavy support, with the point cost reduction for the AT-ST do you recommend it over the tank, or are both viable for their obvious differences? I will only get one of the two for a long while.
  8. Thanks for the feedback -- They look amazing as well. I'll pick up a box.
  9. I am an emerging empire player, and only own 2 units of storms (starter box) and one unit of snow Troopers. Any thoughts on if I should purchase Shore Troopers, or go with double snows, or another third unit of Storms from the expansion? Budget is tight, players in the area pretty experienced and hard-hitting. advice greatly appreciated.
  10. Ok, the above straight-up red trooper from previous post needed work, so I: outlined recesses of armor and helmet in black added weathering pigment to depict dust and desert grime on the legs. Still not thrilled with the red, and not many people like it sadly. I'll complete this unit since they are primered for it, but my next will be traditional White Troopers (with a bit of wind-swept sand on them as well). Comments and feedback welcome.
  11. You are cranking these out! really nice work. Do you use contrast paints, and if so, in what capacity?
  12. Looks amazing and that flock is stellar. What brand is it?
  13. I like certain Imperial officer! These are solid but have you considered spraying them with a matte finish like Testors dull coat? I'm working on some red troopers too.
  14. I love the unique metal on the speeders. all these look amazing.
  15. I'm enjoying this thread -- and yes the E-Web especially appeals to me. Love the off-black / metal of the weapon. The subtle and weathered white on the Snow Troopers looks great too.
  16. Not as keen on this scheme, but wanted something different. After spending too much time on the test model, it's time to call it, "good enough." Another six to go primered in this fashion.
  17. @ZealuxMyr thanks so much, i am going to have a buddy help me get a base coat down like this on mine. Cheers!
  18. Love this work. Is the tank airbrushed? The subtle changes in color gradient are amazing.
  19. I love these, really rad theme. Keep posting your finished models please!

****, fantastic. All the way down to the texture and color on the desert basing. Keep it flowing please!

Looks fantastic; I especially appreciate the dirty yet highlighted tone of the jumpsuit. My one suggestion is clean up the bases next time; there's a bit of random color on the rim and the grass could use a quick trim. Keep posting, love this stuff.
  22. I love what you are doing here. My desert bases are very similar. I'd prefer a full black on the rims of the Imperial bases, I find the lighter color a bit distracting. But that is just a nit picky personal preference. Keep 'em coming
  23. Greetings, I've opted to avoid White and certain other traditional Imperial Colors, replacing with a more gritty and grim approach. Thoughts and constructive criticism welcome. Here's the first for my unit:
  24. They will be stuffed in like APC's in other games I think. It also mentions the hatch; envision two crawling out the top with blaster cover fire from the four or five who bailed out the back. If the tank suffers even one wound, however, a trooper inside is eliminated. That is pretty rough.
  25. I hope they at least invest the staff hours into a demo table or 2 in the dealers hall. I was there two years ago and people were really having a good time with learning the basics.
