    RAW yes.
I forgot to include this rule and so didn't in my current (and first) campaign. Next time I will.

I find droids a great source of fun and my players have more droids than PCs living on their ship. Mainly because every time they defeat one they drag it back to the ship and reprogram it. This results in all potential mischief.
The protocol droid my players has was programmed in psychiatry and so we have RP moments of it trying to get the drug addict to stop with addiction.

I've got the worst of both worlds.  My players will spend half an hour coming up with a meticulous plan; then in less than a minute, someone will do something completely contradictory to what they'd settled on.

Just used mass combat in tonight's session. The players all had a blast, and thought it was a great addition to really depict the sheer scale of the battle going on. It helped to only have the mass combat checks tangentially related to the players' actions throughout the session, with the players' choices adding boosts/setbacks depending on what they did. In tonight's session, the players took out the proton cannons that were firing upon incoming Republic vessels (Removing setback dice from the combat check), and instead placed several of the clones under their command on the cannons to fire upon the Separatist forces above (adding a boost die). There were a couple other mass combat checks, but that was the one that really hooked my players on the idea, and they're now looking forward to more implementation of this feature in future sessions.

Ok... this thread is largely a response to @Tramp Graphics insistence that niman disciple  is the worst form, and it's horribly deficient and relies on a force powers as telekinetic crutch to barely cover it's fatal flaws.  He held out soresu defender as the best form.  So I challenged him to a best of 10 duels.  He chickened  out but @Jedi Ronin agreed to be my sparring partner.
The rules RAW starting characters + 10 xp for morality, then add all the talents from the lightsaber  form spec, no force powers.  The only gear are concealing robes and a basic lightsaber  unmodified.  Duels start at short range, with sabers drawn and ignited.  Each side gets to choose which skill (cool or vigilance) to use for initiative. The destiny pool starts with one white and one black destiny point, one side spends white the otherside spends black. To handicap niman, I won't be using draw closer which means the 3 strongest talents in the niman tree (force assault, draw closer, and force rating) won't contribute, also I'll be using the very generic human species while @Jedi Ronin got to choose a species beneficial to his build (Pantoran  which is widely  considered more powerful than other species).
So in this corner we have
Leonard NiMaan, weighing in with 2's in all attributes except Willpower, in which he started with a 6 and used dedication to raise to a 6. He has 2 ranks in discipline, 1 rank in negotiation, knowledge(lore), lightsaber, vigilance, and coercion.  He has 14 wounds, 16 strain, 3 soak, and melee defense 2 (from 2 ranks in defensive  training).
He starts with a subpar initiative check of
Vigilance for initiative match 1: 1eP+5eA 3 successes, 3 advantage

MrTInce reacted to ImperatorRegnum in I want to be able to go to a store ask for the Star Wars RPG and they can point me at a single book called the Star Wars RPG
That's not an entirely accurate statement. At only 121 pages the WEG core book is tiny! For comparison the FFG career books are 96 pages. You don't get any info beyond the most basic of rules. There is no equipment to speak of, there are only stats for five ships (one of which is the Millenium Falcon, lol), and no setting information. Aside from human your only species options are Ewok, Wookie, Mon Calamari (which are careers unto themselves), and the "Alien Student of the Force" whose species isn't identified.
If you want more info, you'll have to buy the Star Wars Sourcebook, although once again there is very little setting info in that book either. It's mostly just stats for ships and vehicles. They do have rules for ten alien races, but Ewoks, Wookies and Mon Calamari are on this list too, so it's really only seven.
How many WEG books would you have to buy to equal the information presented in just one of the FFG core books? I don't remember what the WEG books cost at the time (it was nearly 30 years ago!), but I think I'd rather pay $180 for three books that give me a ton more information and that also give me the flexibility to run any kind of campaign that I want with very little to no effort required on my part to make it work.

I've ran it once and I found it worked but you have to explain to your players what is happening. The game suddenly takes some control from your players and the roll is quite abstract even for this system.

It is also important to set up how many rolls you will be doing.

    Hello,

Reading the colonist book and it makes a suggestion for players to start on a remote outer rim world where their starting resource is a business. I like this idea and will likely run it for the next campaign I start.
My question is if anyone has attempted this? Any advice?

Also remember that villains don't have to be physical enemies. Thrawn was a master tactician that was more of a challenge in Star Wars Rebels due to his intelligence than actual combat prowess.

With single BBEG I always use the inquisitor rule of multiple turns a round.
