Red Castle Games' 2019 Armada Prime Championship is today!
I'm going to be live blogging the event with pics and fleet lists (as best I can), so come back for updates throughout the day. First up, let's start with our custom-made trophy. FFG didn't include a trophy in this year's OP kit so we made our own!

And as is our tradition at Red Castle for special events, we've got an Armada cake for that second-round sugar hit!

Lastly, we have our prize table! I've added some other goodies to the kit, plus we have a special "Anakin" prize for last place, a prize for best painted fleet and best costume. In addition, we're raffling off $200 in store credit throughout the day so someone may be going with with a new Starhawk or Onager!

195th Galactic Rim Expeditionary Task Force Day 2
Ship’s Log, Imperial Naval Ship Animosity
    Station Keeping, System Edge, Felucia
    Cdr. Thom Jerom Commanding
    ACTION REPORT
After dispatching a garrison to establish a base on Mon Cala we immediately proceeded to Felucia as Grand Admiral Thrawn suggested. He was correct about the presence of criminals in the system. We immediately engaged their forces as they tried to escape using the cover of the system’s asteroid belt.
They slowed and used their fighters and CR90 to cover the escape of unarmed transports. I ordered the Fray to follow Animosity closely and support our firepower with their squadrons. Flight Captains Stele and Kee waited till the enemy Y-wings were nearly upon us and swung around our super structure to engage them before they could execute their bombing runs. Our Firespray pilots covered our flank from the threat of the CR90. The enemy Assault Frigate accelerated from a slow drift to ramming speed while we traded shots with the CR90 and covered our squadrons.
Our shields were offline and we were taking structural hits from the frigate but they under estimated my ordnance specialists. With a barrage of coordinated missiles and turbo lasers the Animosity was able to destroy all but their rear shields and score a few hits on the hull as well. The Fray was able to disable the frigate with turbolasers and leave her dead in space.
The CR90 and the transports made their escape
We have locked the planet Felucia down. There will be no more illicit supplies leaving the system any time soon.
    TASK FORCE DISPOSITION
    INS Animosity: Fully Functional
INS Fray: Fully Functional, Special Commendation for Gunnery
Ruckus, VT-49 (Morna Kee Pilot): F.C. Kee reports that some minor systems will require time in a planetary repair yard for full repairs but the craft is combat ready.
Donnybrook Squadron (Maarek Stele Commanding): Fully combat ready.
Fracas, Firespray-31 (Rotating crew): Fully combat ready

Captain’s Personal Log, Cdr. Thom Jerom
    INS Animosity
    195th G.R. Task Force
We did the Empire proud in our first engagement in the Rim. I have to admit I did not believe the criminal forces in the area would be as well equipped as they appear. It is rare to see a Mark II Assault Frigate outside the larger Rebel fleets. Still it was nothing the 195th couldn’t handle. My missile experts aboard Animosity worked near magic, and the commander of the Fray excellently timed his shots.
The frigate was able to make a jump out of system while we were securing the planet. We will have to remember in the future that their repair crews work fast.
For now we keep station over Felucia and restore order to this fetid fungus world.

"Lion's Heart" tries to stay out of the "Animosity's" front arc.

It's just a side arc shot.  With a Concentrated Fire dial.  And External Racks.  But hey, what could go wrong?

Oh, right.  That's why I never want to hear the odds.

Think so far, this one has your most compelling commanders. Kinda like the bad luck good luck ship in the Lions Heart (hope that theme continues),  add in some more grey to dark rebels in the style of the smuggling prince, which was something I loved about Rogue One. Showing not everyone in the Alliance was an angel. For my own campaign writing up an Imperial captain similar in history to Eli Vanto, being a mid rim born officer who is brilliant, but not politically connected who catches the eye of Thrawn and given command of an Interdictor for the hunt.  Some one who might question what some of his more politically motivated compatriots might be doing and might show sympathy and compassion for planets like his own, yet fighting more morally loose rebels and smugglers justifies his loyalties.

REBELLION IN THE RIM CAMPAIGN 3: ROGUE ONE CONTINUED...
Rum running in the Outer Rim!
The investigation had ended before it had even begun, and with considerable cost to the Rebels’ war chest.  High Command quickly promoted Varik to lead the ad hoc 122nd Mid-Rim Task Force, mostly because he was all they had in the field.  But Mon Mothma and Bail Organa knew Vosh’s Assault Frigate and a handful of pilots wouldn’t be enough.  With little in the way of combat-worthy ships based in the Outer Rim, and few credits to build more, the Rebels turned to an unorthodox ally for assistance.

Prince Drazen was the exiled heir of Onderon.  Once upon a time his days were filled with lavish parties and thrilling space races aboard his royal yacht, the Majestic.  Now he was a pirate, albeit one with excellent manners, reduced to smuggling death sticks and Jawa Juice in order to make ends meet.  In other words, he had lost everything.  Well, almost everything.  The prince still had his yacht, and with the Empire’s crackdown on illegal substances in the Outer and Mid Rims, there was money to be made with a fast ship – all you needed was booze and a buyer.
Now his supplies were coming from the Rebel Alliance.  In exchange for a bigger cut of the profits, they wanted access to his list of underworld contacts and corrupt Imperial officials who were on the take.  Drazen was surprised the self-righteous Rebels would stoop so low as to get involved in the bootlegging business, but they claimed their mission was of critical importance to the safety of everyone in the Outer Rim.  Of course, the Rebels were always talking like that.  It was freedom this, and equality that, and how he should join their cause.  But Drazen didn’t care.  He was no idealist, nor political zealot.  Credits were credits.  And anything that put him one step closer to sitting on the throne of Onderon was all that mattered, though sticking it to the Empire along the way was a nice bonus.
That’s our introduction to the Rogue One campaign, so pull up a seat and pour yourself a Bespin Fizz to see what happens next!

Red Castle Games got a reaction from Karneck in [Portland, OR] Red Castle's RitR Campaign 3: Rogue One
Red Castle Games is hosting a series of Rebellion in the Rim campaigns, each named after a different Star Wars movie.  This is our third campaign and is titled Rogue One (as it meets just once a month and has no set schedule).  It has 4 players.
REBELLION IN THE RIM CAMPAIGN 3: ROGUE ONE
An entire species eradicated!  Top secret weapon plans!  Lots of… liquor?
There were whispers that something happened on Geonosis after the Clone Wars.  Something horrific.  Something the Empire was covering up.  Then there were the rumors of forced mining quotas, increased ore processing and clandestine shipments of matériel intended for the construction of a new Imperial fleet – yet there was no sign of this naval build up.  Where were all the supplies going?  What was the Empire planning?
A splinter group of partisans from Onderon, violent extremists who had broken away from the Rebel Alliance, suspected the Empire was developing a super weapon that would forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.  After much debate, these extremists convinced Mon Mothma to at least investigate what had occurred on Geonosis.

Rebel High Command authorized an exploratory fleet spearheaded by their premier warship – the Fervent, an LMC80 Battle Cruiser – to uncover the truth.  But the fleet’s commander, Admiral Leeray Bucree, wasn’t interested in research and fact-finding, Spynets and recon missions.  No, the good admiral had the Rebel’s mightiest vessel at his disposal.  He would force the truth out of the Empire!

The exploratory fleet’s first, and last, stop was at Montross.  There they encountered a single ISD in the planet’s orbit.  Admiral Bucree’s cruiser could cripple it, board it, and then access the Imperials’ files to find out what was going on.  It would be a quick smash and grab, and Bucree would return a hero.  Unfortunately for the Rebels, that ISD was the Chimaera, Grand Admiral Thrawn’s flagship.  Bucree gave the order to attack and then charged in, pulling far ahead of his support ships with no thought of executing a combined attack.  Within minutes the Fervent was burning and the remaining Rebel ships were forced to flee.  Only the Lion’s Heart, an Assault Frigate Mk II captained by Vosh Varik, escaped the battle undamaged.

With the Rebel fleet shattered in a single blow, Thrawn retired to Coruscant.  In his place he left his protégé, Commander Thom Jerom, and his senior advisor, Commodore Sic S. Teefor, to oversee mop-up operations.  Thrawn declared that Jerom and Teefor need only carry out a few planetary bombardments and the Empire would be in complete control of the Rim once more.  But Jerom had his doubts.
It wasn't that he was skeptical of Thrawn’s capabilities or military assessment, quite the contrary.  He knew the Chiss was a master strategist and worried this might be some sort of test – Thrawn was always thinking ten steps ahead, after all.  If this was a trial and he and Teefor failed, what then?  At least Thrawn had a reputation for being more forgiving than the Emperor, though Jerom didn’t really want to find out firsthand if that was true.  Plotting a course for Mon Cala, he decided to set aside these doubts and trust in the combined might of his Victory Star Destroyer, Animosity, and Quasar Fire Carrier, Fray.  With the firepower of the Imperial Navy at his disposal, what was left of the Rebel insurgency didn’t stand a chance…
