noxeor reacted to scumbagx in Turniments! what should I run?
So I have 2 really good decks my first choice was running my dis brobnar shadow deck https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/04d56b24-8f60-4199-985c-86db8f852a0b

but after looking at top decks I’m thinking about running my logos mars sanctum deck https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/2ec55ad8-ccaa-49ae-a3a9-8ceda52cc2ac

the double Johnny, double grabber jammer and time traveler combo I think might carry me much further! Opinions?  Also being new to to the game I would love  combo suggestions. Or my  are Achilles’ heel in both decks.  Thanks  All!

Ceaser. Knight, Puppy Action: Ready two friendly creatures. You may use those creatures this turn.

It's more of a combo. My best deck has neutron shark and dextre, si I sometimes get to use the neutron shark and instead of using its ability on itself to end its ability, I use it on Dexter which has an added bonus: destroying dextre puts him on top of the draw, then apply the shark's effect to discard the top of your deck. Now you're free from that annoying card! And since it's logos: end the shark's effect!

Hey everyone, I finally received an official ruling from FFG on this:
In this situation, you would still be allowed to play Shadows cards. Restringuntus has a play ability that creates a lasting effect on the opponent. Changing control of Restringuntus after that play ability resolves does not change which player the ability applies to.

Ah, I apologize too.  I just seems that every time I bring up that Restringuntus can cause a one card, pure fluke, instant win and that just maybe that isn't the best in game design someone comes along and says there are all sorts of powerful combos in the game, etc, etc.  I just wish people would actually read what I said and respond to my overall points and not look for statements that can be taken out of context and accuse me of things I both never said nor implied.
The Garfield bit came from BBG, but I've read so many threads over the past six months that unfortunately I can't remember the exact thread it was in.  In your sentence asking about it though you directly stated my problem with Restringuntus.  You said, "and other lockout combinations," but Restringuntus isn't a combo.  I have no issue with combos that win you the game that take several turns to set up.  Your opponent can see them coming and try to prepare for them.  Restringuntus can hit the table entirely by himself and instantly end the game, no combos, no set up, no clever play, just, "Oops, I guess you lose."  Fun.
These are the types of argumentum ad hominem statements you may want to avoid in the future if you genuinely want to discuss the points of the argument.

Restringuntus should be errataed to allow discarding cards from the chosen house.

Part of the problem I feel is the synergy it has with the game mechanic of not being able to mulligan your card in such a scenario. With how the rules work, it is broken because you can't pick the house. If it prevented your from playing cards of that house, it would be OK because you could just select that house and discard your whole hand.

ATM you can't. because of a quirk in the design, and because it's permanent (unlike other similar cards)

I'm mad that ever since I heard that a second season was coming out I started working on some new characters and factions . Then just 5 minutes ago I found out they don't take any suggestions.

This is the problem some have with Restringuntus.  Belive it or not, some people value playing over winning, so a card that does what Restringuntus does is anathema to them.  I am one of these strange people...

That also means FFG had 25+ years of card game "dos and don'ts" to learn from, but they chose not to.

Take about 40% off there Squirrley Derrault. As long as everyone’s having a good time ain’t no reason to be a party pooper.
I’ll take drawing during the turn over the end of the turn every day of the week.

Doc Bookton - Not a high priority target and her 5 power helps keep her around. Drawing a card while reaping can be great.

Depends on if you would have just drawn it anyway in filling your hand up. Reaping to draw a card is only useful when you’re either playing 0 (and drawing 0) or the less than 1/3 chance you draw something from the same house and can play it immediately.

noxeor reacted to dpuck1998 in Most under-rated cards?
Its always great to draw, you draw into another logos you can play right away and it is fantastic.  Otherwise, you just draw a card you would have anyway, but oh well. There is a chance that library access could be a dud as well if you draw into nothing you can play right away.

noxeor reacted to Derrault in Most under-rated cards?
Yes, literally what I Just said. It either did nothing (worse than any alternative effect) or in 1/3 cases it maybe did something (assuming you wanted to play/discard the card drawn).

Along these lines, all you ever hear is about how broken library access is. I think Battle Fleet is underrated...
