  1. Zaltyre wrote the roll includes the modifications. So it would be three wounds. Two from the hearts on the red die and plus one from the ability (rage). The defense roll wouldn't matter in this case because the card says "instead". Though I don't know if there was an errata or another answer in the crrg.
  2. I'm waiting for a German reprint of the first two heroes and monster expansions. And lost Legends of course
  3. I wouldn't come to the conclusion to not treat them as figures. From my point of view they are figures and the heroes treat them as friendly. It would have been stated if they were excluded from using the boost. They are no hero figures because than abilities and cards could be used on them.
  4. I don't drink alcoholics and don't smoke. As I have three young children I don't go out at night. So I have lots of money to spend for games and compared to the things mentioned above its still less expensive. And I can use it with my children. There is nothing like gaming slaves 🤣 I have rather many expansions even if they are a bit more expensive than only the base game. It allows me to dig more into a game I like.
  5. Thank you for your answers. As we live far away we play a small expansion in one stroke or a half of a big one. So we couldn't copy your way lightningclaw. I've already sorted my stuff like you did. To organize the tiles by number in folders helped a lot. Maybe that's also my problem for your second suggestion, xyphistor. I can't see me preparing for a whole campaign in advance. I have already made some lists to see the relevant part faster. For example which overlord deck or which plot deck are good in which situations. Which strengths has this or that monster. For your first part of the first suggestion my friend wants me to read the booklet and explain it as he says he has difficulties to grasp all the stuff. It's not like I won't let him look at it. But I do like the second part of your first suggestion. I'll try next time to have him break down the last encounter and build up the next one with a picture of the map. So I could read the description alongside.
  6. We play these automated rules in the worst possible way for us heroes. So the question for us is how would I play it as the overlord in regard of the listed rule. It gets more difficult but way more interesting.
  7. Dear community, If my group starts a new adventure we regularly have an issue: I'm playing the overlord most of the time. After an adventure ends and a new one is selected I put usually the unneeded tiles and stuff aside and build up the new encounter. Meanwhile the hero players count their gold, spend their experience points and draw five cards from the market. Afterwards I read the description of the quest and explain it to the players. And now comes my issue. I spend my experience points, look into my overlord cards to build a deck and search the available monsters which suits my needs for this encounter. My friend sits there the whole time waiting for me to get finished. I thought about the option that he as a hero builds up the tiles but then in order for him to have the booklet we would have to read the description before the dungeon is build. How do you handle this delay? Are you comfortable with it as it drags out the already long preparations? Thank you for your answers.
  8. Thank you. So a lieutenant is no master. That clears it up. 🙂 I called the master minions elite because it's their name in the German version. I didn't recognize it was different in English as master would have been translated into 'Meister' in German. And that mistake was made although I have read English descriptions with master minions in the text. 🙄
  9. Dear community, We're playing descent for a while but we never actually got to know the status of lieutenant or agent monsters. We tread them as elite monsters. Is this correct? I ask because some plot cards or OL cards seem to be quite strong with them as 'ordinary' monsters.
  10. Which folders would be necessary if I'm only interested in the campaign? I assume lieutenant, monsters and rules. Is this correct?
  11. Healing Rain costs only one XP and with serenas ability and our positioning we could distribute the damage more evenly to maximize its effect. Maybe the OL shouldn't have tried to punish serenas defense die and low health pool. Stone skin helped against a big hitter although I wish the card wouldn't be exhausted. Tempest was great for many small minions and some healing especially with ancestors spirit. Cloud of mist can also ruin the attack run of the OL as it affects every member of the group.
  12. I actually enjoy serena a lot. Despite being inferior to the better combinations I like to play different classes and her stamina pool offers to play spirit speaker. Prophet is also more smoothly. Her 5 resistance helps not only with the spirit speaker but delivers an important attribute. Her ability fits to her weak body and helps her to survive oftentimes. From my point of view only the combination of 8 hp and a brown die is too much. 10 hp would have been sufficient. The 3 speed is compensated by the stamina.
  13. First I didn't get the reason why so many weren't happy about this. Now I see it's just cards. Nonetheless I'm excited and I'll buy it for sure. The more content the better.
  14. If you don't mind to play the campaign I'd just buy the h+m pack that suits you. You get two rumor quests within these packs too. I myself didn't enjoy MOR the way I liked later expansions.
  15. I believe this. As I have an A4 pocket for each tile I have three whole binders 😑
  16. Looks great. It's a pitty I don't have a printer. How did you customize the plastic pockets in the binder? Did you laminate the pockets into the sheet and cut a new opening? I also have the parts sorted by the game aspects but not this organized. With kind regards
  17. It's the same for me. I like the art and the concept of d2e. I also think there are enough tiles to build nice dungeons. The tactical depth is increased through our house rules concerning LoS and movement at corners. To move diagonally you have to have at least one passable square directly to yours. So two goblins block a passage into a room or the obstacles at the ruins tile (4a) block a passage. LoS is measured from the center of the square to any corner of the attacked square. But I have some issues with d2e. The preparation to play a single adventure takes longer than the entire match. You have dozens of heroes, minions, OL-cards, classes and so on to choose from. If we play we take us two whole days for it but this shortens how often we can meet us. Further the power of the OL hardly increases in comparisson to the heroes one. The minions stay the same the whole act while the heroes get new equipment. But these issues are not enough to argue for a third edition from my point of view. With kind regards, becauseofyou
  18. That's true. I don't have these three. I bought the latest sets hoping these are the most balanced. Thank you for your insight. I didn't recognize the searches. We play 'Shadow Rune' actually and my cousin is just farming so much money with all the two scenes full of tokens. So I get your point. I didn't play the quests of my H&M sets. So far we just played the campaigns as they are. I have 'Treaty of Champions', 'Stewards of Secret' and 'Shards of Everdark'. Have you experienced these? So if the OL gains less than the heroes why should he play a rumor card? With kind regards, becauseofoyu
  19. Hey community, I'm curious what you think about rumor cards. This mechanic seems to be strange. Or I cannot grasp it fully. Why should an OL not play his three drawn rumor cards (expecting an even chance to win or loose the adventure) and why should the heroes not choose them as the OL gets a card if they pass by? So wouldn't it be easier to simply draw a card and use it or draw three cards and every side gets to choose one of them? Until now we haven't played with them but I'm thinking about to change the mechanic as a house rule if we introduce them. With kind regards, becauseofyou
  20. I've read the CRRG and found a passage to this card 'Rune Mastery' although it doesn't answer the general question. How do you handle this in your games?
  21. I like especially the offensive character of Maliki and the concept of Gyruk. Kala seems to be a risky choice though. Eight HP, no defensive hero ability and a brown die.
