  1. The answer is to just run 5 X-Wings. I'm sure it's good?
  2. I think that would be a great design for it, but probably only for a named R7. The genetics could give out a calculate and then the named one could give out an evade. It would give rebels access to true ace builds.
  3. I was looking at a three ship list with Hera the other day. It was Lando with Nien, Hera with Leia, Dorsal Turret, and VTG, and a naked AP-05. Hera gives a free coordinate before moving and Lando gives a super coordinate with his ability. Can either give Lando 3 actions or split it to two actions each for both ships.
  4. As a relatively inexperienced player myself, I think the single biggest issue is dial selection among multiple different initiatives. I echo the advice of @NukeWash above. Alternatively (if you have the stuff) you could give him 5 Resistance A-Wings. Something like this: Green Squadron Expert (34) Heroic (1) Crack Shot (1) Advanced Optics (4) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 2 Green Squadron Expert (34) Heroic (1) Crack Shot (1) Advanced Optics (4) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 2 Green Squadron Expert (34) Heroic (1) Crack Shot (1) Advanced Optics (4) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 2 Green Squadron Expert (34) Heroic (1) Crack Shot (1) Advanced Optics (4) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 2 Green Squadron Expert (34) Heroic (1) Crack Shot (1) Advanced Optics (4) Ship total: 40 Half Points: 20 Threshold: 2 Total: 200 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Resistance&d=v6!h=200!300:172,116,,186:;300:172,116,,186:;300:172,116,,186:;300:172,116,,186:;300:172,116,,186:&sn=5 A's (Generic)&obs=
  5. Part of the current weird role of the B-wing comes from large base ships being mostly bad these days. If the meta had more large base ships, cannons (particularly the HLC) would be more useful in the relatively low initiative B-Wings. But barring a significant meta shift or a pilot pack containing an I5 or I6 B-Wing pilot, I think the only way cannons become useable on a B-wing are if they get a config that gives them some sort of buff.

    FFG Live Pics 4-30

Really the best use of auotblaster might be on T-70s depending on how they're priced.
  7. On a whim, I put together a list featuring all the ships I wanted to play since 2nd edition dropped but haven't been able to, and here is the result: Braylen Stramm (47) Jamming Beam (0) Ship total: 47 Half Points: 24 Threshold: 4 Ten Numb (46) Jamming Beam (0) Ship total: 46 Half Points: 23 Threshold: 4 Gavin Darklighter (61) Trick Shot (2) Fire-Control System (2) R4 Astromech (2) Ship total: 67 Half Points: 34 Threshold: 3 Jake Farrell (36) Ship total: 36 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2 Total: 196 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Rebel Alliance&d=v6!s=200!73:,,12,,,:;74:,,12,,,:;22:133,113,,5,:;50:,,:&sn=Ten %2F Braylen %2F Gaven %2F Jake&obs= Set up with vary depending on whether I'm facing low-initiative or high-initiative ships. Against low-initiative ships, I'm thinking to set up a joust with Ten and Braylen with Jake and Gavin flying together on the flank, with Jake giving Gavin double mods and Gavin bumping everyone else's hits up to crits. Against high initiative ships I set up the B-Wings in the middle with Gavin and Jake on the flanks facing in until I can see what the opponent is doing. I have a 4 point bid, but that seems a tad much for a list of I4's. I'm thinking to put crack shot and marksmanship on Jake and roll with a two point bid. Alternatively I can plop trick shot on Ten and Braylen and go without a bid. Or stick crack shot on everyone but Gavin and call it a day with a 1-point bid. Thoughts?

    Inert Fat Han

Upon further consideration, I'm thinking the only way to solve the problem of parking brake Han is to strip Han (and just Han) of the illicit slot. I do think it's a problem btw. Much like Tripsilon, it breaks the core mechanic of the game (flying). Stripping the illicit from Han would be the least invasive cure, and it might prove less effective on the other Falcon pilots because of the lower initiative and lack of built in rerolls.
  9. Not quite. Depending on who the Ace is, some lists are just too beefy for a loan Ace to take down in 75 minutes. Maybe if it's a 2 hour finals match, but not a Swiss round.
  10. And sometimes they're not just filler, they're the whole shebang. Player at a Hyperspace Trial in Orlando last weekend won the whole thing with Sinker, 104th, and 4 GSTs. He said his opponents usually made the mistake if trying to go after Sinker first, and if he survived (which he usually did) the shots back on the initial joust were devastating. He also said that the GSTs were good when they got into the scrum and blocked opposing ships. GSTs are apparently tough enough against unmodded rolls.
  11. Keep in mind though that you're going to have trouble the further up the cut you make it because of time limit increases.
  12. Rebels and Republic here. I converted Rebels and sold my Resistance.
  13. Are we now defining swarms as 5 or more ships? Because I would classify it as 4 or more, which means even in extended generic swarms are king (phantoms anyone?)
  14. @Nohwear A guy from my local FLGS ran this at a Hyperspace Trial in Orlando the other day and placed top 8 with it: Anakin Skywalker (60) R4-P17 (5) Delta-7B (18) Stealth Device (8) Ship total: 91 Half Points: 46 Threshold: 3 "Wolffe" (51) Hull Upgrade (3) Ship total: 54 Half Points: 27 Threshold: 5 Gold Squadron Trooper (25) Ship total: 25 Half Points: 13 Threshold: 3 Gold Squadron Trooper (25) Ship total: 25 Half Points: 13 Threshold: 3 Total: 195 View in Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0: https://raithos.github.io/?f=Galactic Republic&d=v6!h=200!273:,214,201,166:;342:,,,,,164:;321:,:;321:,:&sn=Unnamed Squadron&obs= He would deploy the golds on one side, Wolffe on the other, and send Anakin up a flank to get around behind his opponent and start hammering away. An important thing to keep in mind is that R4-P17 gives Anakin two actions if you can trigger Anakin's pilot ability (you would get one action from the astromech's ability, then pop Anakin's pilot ability to clear stress and take your regular action during the perform action step; it's super nutty). I think stealth device on Anakin is a little silly, but you can't argue with results. Alternatives to it include Spare Parts Canister (which combos well with the astromech if you don't need the extra debris cloud) which would give you points to add Clone Commander Cody and a shield upgrade to Wolffe.
