Henry, I've found that organising large piles of one upgrade type alphabetically or by points makes them quick to work through even without subdividing.
But maybe that's because of my super speed

I've used the box with dividers for a couple of games now and I'm liking it. Feels a bit faster to find things and put them away in general. The exception is if you have a big section, like I have all of my talents in one section. For that case it can take longer than I'd like to find a card. I probably just need to sub-divide the talents somehow (probably alphabetically, like A-E in one section and so on). Aside from that though, I'm liking it so far.

DarthHenryAllen got a reaction from ForceSensitive in Do your dials say "STAR WING" or "STARWING"?
Just an oddity I randomly noticed while inventorying my extra conversion components ... I have some Star Wing dials that say "STAR WING" on the front while others say "STARWING" (without the space).
I'm guessing the former is correct since it's written this way consistently on all the pilot cards and configurations?
It's odd though, I do have a mix of stuff from 2 Imperial conversion kits but both kits were bought at the same time from the same place.
Anyhow, just thought I'd share, hopefully this doesn't cause too many fits for OCD types who may have the "wrong" one :).

I've found Yet Another Squad Builder 2.0 to be quite nice for list building.
The official App I've found unpleasant in the hour I spent with it. Way to much loading, scrolling, and changing screens to do simple things that you can do quickly and all on one screen with other builders. I can't see using their app without a complete overhaul of this stuff, not to mention adressing bugs and a better collection system.
I'm really greateful for the third party builder options keeping list building fun/practical which is key to making this game work.

No thanks, I don’t need every Star Wars illustrators erotic fan fiction TIE variant for the past 50 years.  That applies to Rebel alphabet soup, too.

I think the real tragedy is the new Y-wing. The forward guns and turret look so out of proportion, it looks extremely goofy. Thankfully I don't have to buy any that I don't want, and I'll keep using my old models.

    1. Juke needs one of:
    A) point increase
    B) Charges to limited use
    C) Bullseye requirement
It's to good, and I have not flown against it only used it myself. (It makes a single action or free action both good on offence and defence for very little point cost)
    2. The app needs to have most of its stats increased and many actions added to it's action bar if it's going to be made competitive.

Right, and that is cool for reducing clutter/token count. The issue is though, the numbers are always on the ship and the ship still looks exactly the same once it has a lock ... there is noting with/on the ship to remind you the associated lock is now somewhere out on the board. I'm just thinking, based on only two plays mind you, I may prefer the old system of having a token on the locking ship so that when I look at it, I'm reminded I have a lock.

For what it's worth, I was right there with you on the shields. However, after taking a red sharpie to one side of my 1.0 shields to make them double sided  and playing a couple of games with them, I realized I like them better.
I think the other tokens all needed updating more urgently because they are tokens you place by your ship and these all have the new shape/color scheme. It's very helpful to know all green and blue tokens are good, all red and orange are bad, all circular tokens go away at the end of the round, squares stay. Giving players updated tokens that follow these patterns was a good move I think.
That said ... we kept getting ion and stress tokens confused last night and I kept forgetting about target locks because they are so small, also look somewhat like ion/stress, and there is no corresponding token on the owning ship. This actually has me considering reverting back to classic stress and target lock tokens. The color coding still works if you use the old tokens for those and the shape coding does too if you change it to circles go, non-circles don't

    Thanks for posting!
Nothing too surprising or major as far as I can tell, here are some highlights from a quick scan through:
    - locks only fail if there are no valid targets
    - failed red actions still give stress
    - you cannot perform an action if you already performed it this round OR attempted to perform it and failed
    - ships that deploy (or dock) during the system phase don't activate that turn

In the "Missed Opportunities" thread DarthHenryAllen suggested generic ship tokens (no printed name/initiative). That is a brilliant idea and would have solved almost all of the issues discussed here. 3 dials + 3 tokens == 3 flyable ships in any combination of pilots. It would also save a fair bit of cardboard (for FFG to ship and for us to store). They would only need to be single sided which would save a few pennies in production.

DarthHenryAllen reacted to emeraldbeacon in Any changes to tournament scoring/final salvo for 2.0?
Officially, there are no tournament rules for Second Edition.  However, you can pretty much take the First Edition rules and apply them to your games.  75 minutes is a standard match; if it's still tied at the end, final salvo to determine the winner.
As for making games go faster... One thing I've noticed is that the quickbuild cards make it "easy" to set up a ship and play, without needing to calculate all the points out, but the ships are very sub-optimal in terms of their build strength.  This lends itself to drawn-out slugfests that result in lots of dice rolling, and very little damage.  Obviously, the more points/threat you use, the more time will be taken in planning and executing each individual turn.  A simple 2-threat v 2-threat battle of 1 naked x-wing versus 2 naked TIEs, between players who know the basic rules, can usually be finished within 15 minutes, while a full 8-threat battle can really grind.
The best advice I have, though, is just to play more.  The more games you have under your belt, the more comfortable you'll be with the rules and the maneuvers, and the action will be that much more intense - and things will blow up a lot faster.

It would be *really* nice if you could add individual models and cards to your collection instead of just adding by expansion. Considering the number of folks converting from 1.0, generics in conversion kits not matching dial counts, etc. and all the trading/secondary market action that is likely to happen as a result, I have trouble imagining the 'by expansion' collection is actually sufficient/desirable for very many people.
