  1. I believe “how these things are set up in general” is a major component of the NDA. I don’t believe play testers are allowed to discuss the process at all.
  2. In my existing collection of GCW stuff the quality of the paint job can vary wildly from one model to another. One of my GSD’s is A LOT lighter in color than the other, for example. Could just be a poorer quality example.
  3. Is it just me or do many of the images in the document look like they were photoshopped? I’m not saying it’s fake or anything, but the text and dice look much crisper and clearer than the cards they are on.
  4. I look at as the droid squadrons with AI get punished if not commanded. I mean, 1 blue, 1 black, 3 hull, speed 4 with swarm really isn’t worth the same as a TIE fighter. Add a black or a blue and it’s worth more. That loss of a die if it’s not commanded helps balance the point cost.
  5. Let’s be honest, the ARC-170 is basically a Star Wars version of WW2 carrier-based torpedo bombers, like the SBD (Scout Bomber Douglass) Dauntless or the TBF Avenger. Neither of those planes were exactly speedy and relied on their rear gunners to help keep enemy fighters at bay. Speed 2 with counter 1 seems to fit perfectly.
  6. He also stacks with Ahsoka to be able to both move and attack twice in one round. It can help him jump around the squadball, making sure he’s tying up the right squads
  7. The OP mentioned a “pseudo-rogue effect.” And this card is very easy to misread as “AI squads are activated as if they had been activated by a squadron command,” which isn’t the case. I was just clarifying that this card does not allow AI squads activated by it to both move and shoot.
  8. AI squads don’t get rogue. While attacking they are treated as if they were activated by a squad command. That means they still get their AI bonus dice, but they still have to choose to either attack or move. AI squads seem to be overpriced if they are not actively commanded to get their extra dice. This upgrade is more of a “I couldn’t activate the squads this turn, so I need to use this to make sure they don’t lose their AI dice.”
  9. Thanks for all the hard work you do. We all appreciate it.
  10. Konstantine is slowing them down with is OP ability.
  11. It is a VERY fun ship to play. But it’s also fairly hard to play well in a competition and relatively easy to counter. The model is gorgeous, and it’s worth buying just for that.
  12. I suspect GT will be an exhaust with cost to refresh. So it may require a token of some sort to use it in a future round.
  13. Just curious where you’re getting this info.
  14. The advantage of living 15 hours ahead of PST is I can claim it’s that day for 39 hours. So as long as it’s Nov 10 “somewhere” I’m good.
  15. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. I know that I have personally offered up counter arguments so some of your postings. Your usual response to a well-reasoned argument is to ignore it. Not true. Personal growth and self improvement are all about being proven wrong. It takes a fair amount of humility and maturity to realize that you can be wrong and that you can change to be better. You’ve got the relationship here backwards. Rudely pointing out someone’s mistakes will create resentment. It’s the rudeness that creates the resentment, however. Patiently and calmly showing someone a better way does not necessarily need to lead to bitterness between two parties. However, it does take a bit of humility and maturity to admit when you’re wrong. If you didn’t care, I doubt you would try so hard to prove to everyone how knowledgeable you are. I suspect you care deeply, so when others don’t affirm your opinions you feel hurt and lash out. From previous threads, I gather you find the trolling behavior to be the “fun” you’re talking about here. Just realize that your attitude causes many people, myself included, to immediately discount any argument you make. There have been a few times where I’ve read something you wrote and grudgingly had to admit you had a point. Most of the time, though, I just ignore your posts, because it’s not worth the aggravation. If you would tone down the aggressiveness a bit, you might have more people listen.
  16. I prefer socially distant Vader killing officers to intimidate gunners into firing better.
  17. I think the reason more people haven’t agreed with you is because people are already learning how to counter it, and realize it’s not as game-breaking as it once seemed. Whenever something new comes out, a lot people start calling it an “NPE” or “game-breaking.” People freaked out over how Pryce and 2-ship ruined the game, the SSD was going to be unkillable, etc. It’s part of the circle of Armada life: something new comes out, somebody finds a way to exploit it, everybody starts copying it and it becomes a big part of the meta, people learn how to counter it, it starts dropping from the meta, then something else new comes out.

  19. Yeah, I feel like 2-3 Delta 7’s will make a decent anti-fighter screen. Then again, they’re more expensive than some Imperial scatter aces. And if the generics are 17 points, how expensive will the Aces be?
  20. Rogue not only costs more points, but there is an opportunity cost to it. If you are relying on rogue to activate your squads then your opponent has a massive opportunity to strike your rogues first and either destroy them or tie them up. A mass of firesprays or YT-2400s can be stopped by a much less expensive group of fighters. Against squadless builds rogue bombers are very powerful. Against even a medium fighter screen, not so much.
  21. Breaking the rules a bit. I figure you need a minimum of 5 squadrons, only x, a, and y wings allowed. Jan Ors is subbing for a U-wing. I can’t fit a second CR-90 in here, but I think this fits thematically. Squadrons 2 (396/400) Rebels Commander: Commander Kyrsta Agate [flagship] MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100) - Commander Kyrsta Agate (20) - Electronic Counter Measures (7) - Assault Proton Torpedoes (5) - External Racks (3) - Ordnance Experts (4) = 139 total points Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57) - Yavaris (5) = 62 total points Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57) - Fighter Coordination Team (3) = 60 total points CR90 Corvette A (44) - Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7) = 51 total points Squadrons (84/134): 1x Moldy Crow - Jan Ors (19) 1x Shara Bey A-wing Squadron (17) 1x Wedge Antilles X-Wing Squadron (19) 1x Norra Wexley Y-wing Squadron (17) 1x Gold Squadron Y-wing Squadron (12)
  22. It’s a big issue, but not insurmountable. There is enough out there, for both Imperial and Rebel, to make good, fun, powerful 400 point lists. Are they going to be the most competitive? Maybe not, but if you’re anything like me you’ll lose your first 15 games anyway, not matter what you’re flying. Starting slow with just a few expansions lets you learn to use what you have before you get in too deep. Is it ideal? No. Is it frustrating? It can be. Can you get into the game and have a lot of fun playing with current stock? Absolutely.
  23. I want to try to use salvo on two AFMK2’s, and I don’t want to use Ackbar. Thoughts on this list? Sweet AF (399/400) Rebels Commander: Garm Bel Iblis Objectives: Opening Salvo, Fleet in Being, Doomed Station [flagship] Modified Pelta-class Command Ship (60) - Garm Bel Iblis (25) - Intensify Firepower!
