  1. I've been playing with additions/subtractions from this game, and putting in some from Mechamorphosis (an older FFG mod).  In that game you use "D Shift+F7 D" rules, where the transformers special powers are spells.  I thought Genesys could do the same thing.  A specific spell = a special power.  Mirage can turn invisible, Hound can create illusions, etc.

The hard part is the combiners (and I'm using the rules presented here), but then there's also Soundwave and his cassette tape minions.  And that's when it hit me.  He "Conjures" them.  They are specific results of a "summoning spell."  Now, Soundwave is really good at it, but I think you can see how this can work...

I see 2 PDFs here. One has color, images, and an introduction from in-setting. The other is black text on white background. Which of these is the optimal version?

If you're looking at mine, then the Black and White are the old TSR system books, and the colored one, is the "format" I made up, along with input from Ferninja's pieces.

Take what is useful, leave what is useless.

  3. I could see Indy getting a 3 in Brawn.  I think I evened it out with higher skills, but I wanted Sallah to be more of a "people person" where he knew everyone.  Also, watching the movies, he doesn't demonstrate strength or fighting abilities really.

  4. I just started listening to it (because of this post).  I love it.  If you're looking for help writing this, I'd love to help.  I've made a couple interpretations in the forums here already (Indiana Jones, Crimson Skies, and Cowboys and Dinosaurs).

  5. Okay, I was bored today, and converted "The Eye of Kilquato" from Savage Worlds into Genesys.  I also included the figure flats PDF, and the tile map PDF.  They're in the GoogleDrive above.

  6. I just uploaded my version of Indiana Jones major players from Raiders to the GoogleDrive.  TOD, TLC, KotCS, and Expanded Universe still to come.  Let me know what you think.

  7. I'd love to hear some feedback on use as well.

Have you ever done any more character writeups? Where can I find the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Seth adventure? Are there any other Indy adventure conversions into Genesys anywhere I can find, please?

The Temple of Seth adventure is available in the same GoogleDrive Folder.  I have most of the old IJ-RPG gamebooks, but most of them are setting books, and very loose ideas for adventures.

If people let me know they want more, I'd love to translate/create them for people.

Can we get writeups for Indy and some other characters?

    I'm still working on those.

Let me know what people want, and I'll do my best.  With the Proposed Indy 5 coming out in 2020, we might get even more fodder, or some sort of official RPG.

  8. I haven't done alot with it, as I've had some other games I've been converting to Genesys.  If you have any suggestions to make the game better, I'll gladly edit them and put them in the book.  I'd LOVE to see an official RPG for this world, and it fits so well with Genesys.

    TheLonelySandPerson-

Thanks for the terms.  I always find it a hard balance with actual terminology and ease of play.  But in this case, the real terms may add more to the feel.  I'll work on changing them, and updating the file.

  9. No, it was purely inspired by the art of Shaun Keenan in his book "Dinosaurs of the Wild West."  I can't praise this book enough.  It looked so awesome, that I decided, I wanted to play in that sandbox.

  10. Yep, you're right.  There are several unfinished parts of this.  I must have put up the unfinished version.  I can't seem to find my finished version.  I'll remake it, and upload the corrected version.

For the backgrounds... I generally play with more fluidity, but I do see your point.  I'll come up with some more concrete rules.

Thanks for helping me out, and spotting the flaws.

  11. Just for some cool/kooky background type info, you can look at the old Paladium TMNT/After the Bomb supplement "Road Hogs."  It gives some interesting ideas, maybe not at Mad-Max-y as you're intending though.  You can get it at Drivethrurpg.com.

  12. Hey everyone, feel free to chime in.  I'm converting a game (that I love) called Scion into the Genesys rules.  I love the rules for Genesys, but I don't think it handles the "way more powerful than humans" game very well.  Scion is a game where you are children of gods and you get to have Superhuman Strength, Agility, Beauty, etc.  As a rule question, would there be anything wrong with having a Brawn 6? or 7? Besides the obvious answer that I'd need to get more dice.  Do you think they should have a maximum of 5, and just add bonus dice after that?

What about for foes like Frost Giants?  Do you think they could have a larger Brawn?

  13. Besides, Indy (and from which Movie) which other characters would you want to see stated up?  Sallah?  Marion?  Mutt?  Or were you asking about more of the Bad Guys?

I know, it's not a popular view point, but I liked the KOTCS (up until the last 10 minutes) and I didn't have a problem with Mutt.  He'd be a very good Starting Level character.

  14. I'm making a Star Trek game as well, and I have a skill that I thought everyone might find helpful.

    Engineering (Int)

This works just like a technological version of Alchemy.

Your character should use this skill if...

    • your character wants to identify an unknown technology
    • your character wants to know the materials required for a certain technology
    • your character tries to prepare a certain piece of technology with "magical" effects.

Your character should NOT use this skill if...

    • your character tries to repair a piece of technology
    • your character is attempting to use a piece of technology

I think this works really well for the "feel" of Star Trek.  This covers the ability to overload a Phaser to turn it into a Grenade, or have a Comm Badge create a personal Forcefield (See Fist Full of Data).

Let me know what you think.

  15. Okay, so my wife wants to do a Tremors one-shot (for now).  I'm needing some help stating up the villains of the series.  I know that people in THIS forum would know this series.  How would you stat up...

    Grabboids?

    Shriekers?

    ***-blasters?

Would the ability to sever a graboid's tongue be a Crit Wound?  Like sever a limb?  I can only remember it happening in the first movie.

  16. Thanks, for catching the typo.  That's Hillarious!  "Here's looking at... YOUR SOUL!"

As for the Hat rule... I like that.  A Talent, that removes a threat or despair saying you lost a piece of equipment?
