Here's a bounty hunter of mine I did a while back. I went with the old school Star Wars method of using WW2 guns as blasters - he's toting an M1 carbine with some bits and bobs to make it Star Warsy. Enjoy!

I always had Star Wars in mind when designing this guy. He's sort of another bounty hunter (I'm a bit obsessed with bounty hunters).

There's some great artwork in here! I'll have to upload some of my character drawings later, but I've attached a placeholder for now. He was sort of designed for another game, but I never used him.  Still kinda Star Warsy.

Yeah I think FFG should never done conversion kit. As a old player I will be truly happy to put in the trash all of my 1.0 collection and buy again all the ship ! This is the real best solution !

    Dial difference - 1 pts
    Modified TIE/Ln ability + 2 pts
    Total = + 1 pt
Bring Debris Fields if you have a problem with them. The Modified TIE/Ln only ignores asteroids when moving. Dash ignores everything.

It could matter. But it currently doesn't.
We've had this discussion before (Meanie and I - and I believe we are in agreeance), but for those others interested, a properly done app would build more interest in the game as it makes list building/theorizing easy, so you end up buying more ships based on your proposed designs. It would also maintain a high level of interest from all players involved. I've, quite frankly, lost a lot of interest because I don't constantly think about new fun things to put together on a functional app. This might be fine for some players, but those of us that were spoiled by excellent apps for 1.0 are dealing with some waning interest. The negativity surrounding the app is also a deterrent to new players. I specifically steered all conversation away from the app with a potential new player to ward off the inevitable tirade of poop-flinging due to the abysmal tool FFG has saddled us with. Negativity is sure to scare away most folks just looking at the game for the first time.
I'm trying to be a squeaky wheel by posting often about this - I have no idea if it's doing any good, but I'll keep doing it until something changes. I see SO much promise in a good FFG X-wing app. I had very high hopes and was shocked at how bad the app was (and IS). The game could be revolutionized with an app that does what I was thinking it would do. It could revolutionize gaming as a whole if done properly, which would mean massive revenue generated from a free app. This is actually possible, but it seems the planners at FFG didn't realize this themselves - like the design staff and the digital departments never spoke to one another. It's a real shame.

...because I like flying my little ships, making pew pew noises while I'm at it. He engages because it's fun to engage. If you see me at a tourney, I'll be the one having fun.

If you know he's pulling a 4k, I think a 3 straight gives you a solid roll, boost, bullseye focus with Soontir and then sets you up for a 2 turn (clear stress), boost, roll, bullseye focus on the following turn.
The issue with the scenario is there's no reason for the X-wing to k turn here. The X should pull a hard 3 turn in either direction with S-foils closed and boost or lock (lock is preferrable). Following turn, T-roll or K-turn as you know Fel will give chase, but the range is greater now, so he can't dodge away. If you managed a lock in the previous turn you get modded shots even though you're stressed. This brings up a whole different series of maneuvers for Fel in the chase, so again, it all depends on what you can predict from your opponent.

Bad Idea Comics reacted to ficklegreendice in In your opinion; Which Pilots & Upgrades require no skill and are against the spirit/original design intent of the game?
Trajectory Sims is ENTIRELY in the spirit of the game
It is utterly positioning dependent and forces players to consider the manuevering aspect (ie "the game part of the game") rather than the dice aspect
Not to mention that Sims havnt had jack effect on anything list building wise because they're not even remotely competitively popular outside the one redline, who is taken for big mod torps
Now as to what ACTUALLY flies in the face of the spirit of the game...well pwts no longer exist so we really don't have much to complain about.
I'm personally not a fan of high I alpha strikes because I feel you basically can't do anything about them unless you take specific counters or bid like a madman or fodder something (making it more difficult to take on the high I ships in the late game). I feel ordnance costs really oughta scale with the I of the pilot taking it

Think of it like you’re locking in to their 6.  By making sure you end up in the space they vacated with the same arc facing, they will never leave your firing arc without a reposition.  Which a higher PS ace in a nimble ship can adjust for.  The best a jouster can do at that point, is hope a wingman takes out his tail, or 4k > blue straight > 4k indefinitely (i.e. “fo back and forth”).
Some ships are notoriously difficult to lock in behind them, either because they can still get a Focus on a K, or because they’re just too squirrely.  B-Wings with Advanced Sensors, for example.  Assuming you lock in behind them, they have a short K-Turn, extremely short Tallon Rolls, and can take an action before maneuvering.  They can go slower than an Interceptor, and can even Roll so that a 1 Tallon turns them around close to where they started.  Another damned near impossible ship to lock in behind of, is a Starviper with Sensors.  Banking Roll into a Segnor-Loop for a 90-degree lateral turn around.  Nuff said...

The app is not a revenue stream for FFG.  If people buy the ships and play the game,
    It.
    Doesn't.

Thanks all. Your responses have given me a lot to consider.

It sounds like short of specific circumstances the best bet is a 1 or 2 straight then action to adjust.

Worst case you’ll bump. Or end up head on but you’ll be modded.

The issue with that is that a speed 3 turn and lock leaves you still pretty close to where you were (about 3 bases away on a 45' angle). If Soontir started range 1 behind you, a speed 2 straight puts him more or less where you were, and an autothruster linked boost puts him at range 1 with a focus token; which can take a huge chunk out of your ship if you've no focus token to augment your own defence rolls.

Yep - I agree, which is why I mentioned that a lock is preferrable, but I put the boost in there. It all depends on the situation. There's simply not enough info in the scenario depicted to make an informed decision. So, yes, I agree with you 100%, hence the last sentence in my post.

Red vet loses. Basically. Fel dials a 2 bank or 2 straight and fixes it with repositioning depending on where the vet ends up and doesn't care if he bumps. He's worth more points so he arc dodges until he's got a good shot without risk and repeats until time or enemy death. It simply should ever get to the point where the x wing gets a shot on him ever again.
