21 minutes ago, Spinland said:Yeah, my thought was they intend folks to use those two together. That's a lot of spend for one trick unless the cards are really cheap to load.
Which they shouldn't be as a result of BB astromech, Poe's ability, Black 1, Closed S-Foils, old Snap's ability, etc.
I just thought that old Snap wouldn't mind the new talent until I remembered that if he wants to hold on to having an action during his action step proper, he needs to take R5-X3. Which is a base 58 points + whatever the talent costs. For 2 rounds of boost + evade + action. Not worth it. New Snap is addressing the problem of old Snap being hit so hard by the Composure nerf. I mean, old Snap with the free SLAM boosts will certainly be fun and funny, but new Snap is straight up better.
Edit: Nevermind, Overdrive Thruster is specifically for red repositions. Boo. But at least thematic with Poe.

A new article every Wednesday for 4 weeks tho. And Wednesday of the drop week was the last Wave's points.
-
When tomorrow's points drops don't include an energy nerf despite CIS' PDF getting updated by Wave 7 anyway:

Fair enough. I liked the exhilaration of having regenerating concussion missiles with A's, but one mistake and you're at half health. Or if you're doing PVP, you can dodge munitions but 1 hit and dead.
The b wing close foils and have munitions auto miss you exploit was dumb

Just now, Cloaker said:The scarier question is, if/when 3.0 comes if it doesn't have conversion kits, but allows you to still use old models, do you stay with the game? Or what if they completely revamp the game from the ground up? What do we do then?
If 3.0 comes out any sooner than 5 years from now, I'm out. 2.0 was the competitive retweak of a beer and pretzels game that did surprisingly well. If 3.0 drops, I'll look for another miniatures game that scratches the same itch but doesn't revamp so often. Which probably means a discontinued miniatures game, but hey, you can shoot Craig or shoot with him in the fan-made expansions for Halo: Ground Command.

6 minutes ago, Makaze said:I would be more sympathetic to that argument except a giant chunk of the problems in 2e have come from non-conversion kit factions. Not that there weren't some glaring oops in the kits but my more recent memory is filled with CIS swarms, ensnare, regen jedi, and other different CIS swarm. Which indicates that there's just a baseline level of oops happening period
On the brightside, when we pirates were screaming loud enough behind the company's building in an alley and when it reached the height where a molotov cocktail hit a kitchen-grease dumpster that ignited an inferno whilst clowns were playing heavy metal clown-core while a disgraced neuroscientist tried to play operation on an exposed chimp skull with chopsticks: that was when the company had to send someone out to make us stfu. With that having been dealt with, they can't play the "there are no pirate clown brain surgery grease fires going on" card. Company reputation and community image was on the line.

He's covering the high investment of swarms that many players aren't into. For example, Sear + 7 runs you at $40 + 5 * 20 = $140, and that's a cheaper swarm.
Tbf, I play swarms occasionally online, but never IRL. I have few duplicate expansions in my collection, relatively speaking. I'm fine with box costs in the game, but there are diminishing returns per copy of expansion, and not just the unique elements. You're paying for the reasonably priced R & D multiple times but getting only 1 more model and dial each time. It messes with my OCD even if I paint them up to justify the purchase.
What FFG absolutely nailed in launching prequel factions were additional content in the singles packs for the ships that were included in the prequel core sets. Duplicate ships, yes, but new pilots and cards, and new paint job!

5 minutes ago, ClassicalMoser said:Given that the abilities are more balanced and there's no Iden to save them, we can hope that the pricing will be more competitive than the likes of Howl/Drea/Sinker, and more in line with something like Cardinal/Stridan...
Stridan has a few more tricks with Malarus crew, but for a few points more you're still just better taking Tavson or for a few points less Thannison or Starkiller, lol

Am I the boomer now?
I'm on mobile, so I can't insert image, but Randy the Intern "OK, Boomer":
"Craig" is the name the internet gave the low-quality brute model from the upcoming Halo: Infinite. As a combination of the eased expression, leftover Harambe memes, the fact that the game isn't finished, and the more relaxed atmosphere of the game (Halo: Breath of the Wild), "Craig" is associated with letting things go--a dramatic departure from brutes being raging beasts, even in Halo: Infinite. The lowly generic TIE Brute has been dubbed "Craig".
Tartarus is the main brute in Halo 2. Big boi with scary hammer, but when his shields are down, he drops down fast, even on Legendary difficulty.
-
Should the unique brutes be fielded? You're paying extra for abilities that can be negated with am easy nasty crit chain. If you're just fielding a cheap Craig, you feel easier about letting the points go.
The moral is if you're going to field a gorilla that gets headshot by an edgelord, play Harambe and not Tartarus.

Relatedly, I may also not understand what ‘coward’ means here.
edit: my default assumption is that we’re all in camps 2-3 unless I have indications otherwise.
I agree about none of us knowing what we're talking about. But saying "just do X, EZ" without giving an example of playing and doing well seems...cheap.
Just kill Fenn first and then the Ghost! Why is everyone complaining? I headsimmed the game and I won! Let's move along!

Probably because of the high representation of camps #2 and #3, and when asked to offer some proof for claims, they morph into camp #1.

Has anyone.played the Mario 3D All Stars collection? I've played the games 100% on their respective systems, but IDK if $60 USD is worth it for re-ports just to play in handheld.

Are we sure that this isn't a stress test of the points system by FFG? Like they don't want to hurt their IRL events, but with those out of the way, this is a golden opportunity to simulate an imbalance for IRL events?
Sure, I'm on team Tim the Enchanter (I bitched before Corellia and told people not to dismiss the list), but this is still healthier than late 1st edition. Sure, it's the most restrictive of 2nd e metas and dominated moreso by 1 list than even quad phantoms, but if this is the worse 2e gets, we're ok. Emergency Nerf when plastic hits mats?

Is there a compelling reason to take an Eta2 without a LAAT? Even pretending that 7th fleet/Suppressive gunners didn't exist, that force regen crew or the Patience + Hound combos didn't exist, or that the lock was purple, why skip on the LAAT and Concentrated Fire?

*quietly holds han*
But if Han uses it, because he spent that result and it thus doesn't exist anymore, if he rerolled, he's rerolling 1 fewer dice. Deplete for a deplete on something with full mods is unappealing. Otherwise Optimized Prototypes would reroll all those focii they spent and that's silly!
