Just now, theBitterFig said:Kinda disappointing that Yoda is literally just the same ability. I don't love it when that happens, since it's just boring.
I've made my peace with it. He's literally the training piece of the expansion, helping newer players learn about force conservation yet being too expensive to be worth it for most people who've learned how to do it.

You are reading that correctly, because FFG's rate of including an oh-so needed fully keyword is about, eh, 40%.

R2D2 is an R2 with an extra charge. I'm sure that's better than the inevitably super-pricey Republic R2-D2 (which has more versatility but less usage) or Resistance R2-D2 (same story). Most of the time, between regen and utility, you'll choose regen. Yes, sometimes I'll use Deuterium Power Cells to yeet an Ion or a Tractor, but it's taken and used almost exclusively for regen.
The only reason why we'll see more R2-D2 than R2 in Republic as opposed to the norm of the budget R2 more than R2-D2 is because the modless Eta 2 has 0 shields. R2-D2 can fix cards (which incidentally makes him a worse choice for Delta 7B if you're into running Republic point fortresses).

Against most chassis, the system-phase reposition is effectively Supernatural Reflexes. But against something that can reposition and turn its turret for only the cost of -1 agility, that doesn't seem too terrifying. Blocking is made slightly harder, but with 6 ships to block with, it's not that difficult. Especially if the cost for failing to block is getting a dandy turret shot off.

Shaak Ti seems a healthy way of introducing Advanced Optics (1st edition) into the game. You need to range control and spend force for it (and with the ability queue, you are hard-capped at 2, regardless how much Yoda you have in your squad). But it still offers some flexibility in alpha-striking with munitions or just freeing up your Jedi Generals' actions. It's like an alternate Delta-7 Obi, and I like that.
Now for a hot take: Eta-2 Obi > Eta-2 Anakin.

OK, so 2 force generics are awesome, but I don't think that extra mods on a flimsy chassis beats 6 flimsy but hard-hitting chassis' with turrets. Maybe after the re-costing.

F.
Also throws the Luke idea out as it is his config that has boost on one side. No native boost.

Extreme Maneuvers don't specify how the boost happened.... Extreme Afterburner Vader? Extreme Kylo on a red boost? An Extreme Luke dramatically changing trajectory off a coordinate?

So 1 agi is where it is most useful but most expensive. I don't know where to put it for 1 agi at all. Maybe Sinker? But why bother with Sinker anymore when there is the LAAT?
It seems decent on Malarus, especially in the 3 Silencer build. Make those rerolls stay and trigger Fanatical sooner! My only problem with that is Terrex is the best crew with them and accidentally jamming your possible reinforce away isn't fun. Sure, opening lock fixes that, but what about the 2nd self-jam? Maybe I'm not leveraging it fully.
I've unironically considered it with a shield upgraded Kyle Katarn, but since Kyle has only 2 turns of purely passive support (unlike Malarus' completely passive Howlrunner effect), I couldn't bring myself to do it.

@Chumbalaya I still love X-Wing. Though I've become far more zen about it considering how all the big events are proxies and FFG ****** costing up so hard that it is comically predictable as to a certain faction's cut rate and which list will win. Here's to hoping that that one time where they had to drop by and tell us to stop the collective dumpster fire they took a look as to what the dumpster fire was about. That being said, I'll take part in Ryloth if not for the lack of events available/I can make.
Was Grinching about X-Wing really a form of expressing love for its original concept, such that when X-Wing was allowed to perish to the most unprecedented costing cock-up that said inner love for what X-Wing was supposed to be expressed itself in an embrace of the wholesomeness that is Squadrons? I wouldn't know, haven't played it myself.

A lot of interesting things for Crait. And a lot of sibling archetypes to what I'll probably field for Ryloth, but not quite the archetype. I get to be a special snowflake!
Neat-o that there's a good heaping of Boba, Nym (Concussion Bombs make him relevant?), Xi, and LAAT as expected, given that they are expanded by wave 7, but comical that there's an absence of HMP.

TIE/rb
*Tom Riddle anagram wand wiggle*
brI/TE
Huh. Looks not like "brute" as you'd expect a proper designation, but a clunky version thereof. Representative of both Craig in Halo: Infinite and of the TIE/rb bumbling about.

That's what I was thinking. But The Dyslexic Ketamine-Addict Midget Grinch into some kinky stuff has pre-maneuver reposition, presumably 4 force, probably an amazing ability, and can turtle up easier. The I4 still might be better, until you remember how he died:

QD and ID work together now. Though I'd stay it's still not a good idea to make a list for the combo.
Very true. But a clutch stop at I6 with you not being too upset for losing a shield can have its merits for the I3 cost. It's a bad idea the vast majority of the time to self-proc Quickdraw, but hey, if it lets you dodge a killbox (especially if ioned) or lets a blocker overshoot you/still get shot at, it could be clutch. I'd mainly take it just to keep the opponent overthinking things and being wary. Maybe once every 6 games it would be used for the intended effect.
And then I'll realize I could have had a better shuttle if I had 1st phase FO Palp + 2nd phase FO C1-10P/Force instead of taking his pilot card.

Yeah...the FO Courier is an I2 coordinate, no talent if you're the sort to put Fanatical on a shuttle, and only 1 pt cheaper than a Reaper? Unless you're afraid of getting blocked, which Terrex doesn't care about, Gideon should be considered the basic Xi shuttle.

In our extended BOTS invitational yesterday, the players voted 15-1 to ban the Nantex chassis. In this glimpse of a significantly more wholesome meta on a smaller scale, it definitely seems to be a swarm meta. I'll make a listfortress entry for it, although spoilers, Sloane Agressors won. Congrats to Bohan!

Terrex is best crew but worst shuttle. You could cloak with him though, so that's a consideration for a purely support ship.
-
Kylo + Hask > Kylo + Tavson. Fite Mii. Sure, as a matter of principle, if you're really trying with Super Kylo, you're best off with 3 ships with 1 of them being either of the 3 dice I6. And if you're really trying with Kylo, you're probably investing into just the good chassis and not egregious tricks. But Lone Wolf + focus + occasional force + Deuterium is a hilarious tanky combo especially if teleporting torpedoes are flying around on a double digits bid. Might make for a good sithpost tournament list.
Real talk: is Snoke decent now? Intimidation Provacateurs are only 44 pt and have a far better blocking potential than Intimidation Omegas and are cheaper + talent than the Seinar Jaemus Engineers. In proxying, Malarus + 3 Jim seemed like a very, very solid alternative to Holo + 3 Jim, but it turns out officially you have 13 pt: an entire Snoke to fit. If you drop a Jim to an Intimidation Provacateur, you now gain 4 pt... definitely not insignificant. Proud Trad for defense on a stop on Malarus/Fanatical for purely passive full mods when deshielded or even just Angled Deflectors and always reinforcing and letting passive squad buffs do work seem good. Sure, you don't need Snoke/Sense if you "git gud" but in those Princess Bride mind games, sometimes it helps knowing that both goblets were poisoned. That and seeing not only a blocker but a perfectly informed blocker on the other end of the table does things to an opponent, even harder than Pyre. Upgrades like Pyre or blocking Snoke that are mostly bark and little bite pay massive dividends if the opponent pays too much attention to the annoying bark.
I just want Darth Smeagol to be good.

I still don't like the n1, however, my thing about the latt was, it's a gunship/transport ship, what the heck is it going to do in my dog fighting game. Intsead it's probably the coolest support ship i've seen in x wing so far and i'm really excited to get it on the table.
