This isn't X-Wing. Don't take Boba from the Imperials. Scum would not be a fun faction to play for anyone if they continually get wiped off the table by every other faction. Waste of time for FFG so please such a small group that want this. Wait for the CW and other GCW releases before you go around saying we need Scum. That game is just 5 months old. Give it time and stop demanding. I agree with Jocke01, you have no reason except naming units. I can name units too. #DeathToScum

After the announcement of Clone Wars being added, those who say scum will be the next faction can finally sit down. I'm glad scum isn't in and we got CW. There are far better characters and everyone loves it; if you hate it, you belong in the Sarlaac. Hopefully the word scum is only mentioned to those rebel players. 

Well, I took the evening off yesterday and only put magnets into my AT ST head. No painting today but I did manage to pick up some grass material from the Hobby Lobby and base these guys:

put a second coat of watered down PVA on them and they are pretty gooey right now.  I figure tomorrow I will lacquer and tuft then.  Then maybe over the weekend I can start on my last rebel squad from core set 1.  That leaves just Vader and Luke (and then core set 2 and a snowspeeder and AT ST...).
The terrain I PVA’ed yesterday was dry so I primed it in Mechanicus Standard Gray.  Still not sure where it’s going but I’m going to play around and see if I can’t do mossy rocky outcrop.  Or something...

The game just released. Give it time, baby. 

To clarify, I do prefer only GCW. The reason is purely personal preference. The "Star Wars feeling" for me is the OT and OT-setting material like Rebels and Rogue One. If the game adds other eras there will be mixing of eras which takes me out of it a little bit (I realize X-wing does this with no big issues). 
However I know that is just one perspective, albeit a pretty common one. There's also the perspective of people who love all the eras, or were brought up more on the more recent material (which I also like to varying extents). In the end I don't want to prevent them from getting what they want, especially if it helps grow and sustain the game. 

So in Rebels it was stated there was a military act passed to retire all the clones from active duty, though I do not think it was stated when exactly that was. 

I agree so much with both of you as far as foreseeable content. Definitely Solo/Rogue One/Rebels era to RotJ for now. Then Prequels, then sequels. However, I have to imagine there will be a push by Disney to get some of the latest movie stuff out.

The characters in Rogue One and Rebels are certainly near and dear to me. Sabine and Zeb setting up bombs/demolition tactics (somehow)... or the TX-225w “Occupier” combat assault tank used by the Empire on Jedha:

The sequel generation is not the next generation of gamers, they are too young for that, the prequel generation is, people of my age. I remember the launch of every prequel movie (okay, I'm a bit foggy on episode one, but I was only 3, then. Do remember the LEGO sets, though!) and grew up playing the very prequel-heavy Star Wars games of the day. I recognize their flaws as movies, but they drip nostalgia anyways and the vehicles were just great! I know at least two people I grew up with that would jump on an opportunity to play a prequel era tabletop, who I know won't be tempted much by OT content. I prefer the OT aesthetic at this point, but they do not and I don't believe they are alone.
For the moment I selfishly want the OT to be fleshed out, but once the game is established, FFG should release prequel content. I know some players aren't comfortable with mixing eras, but this can be avoided with different formats, where one is OT only, one PT only, and an unlimited format exists in which armies are able to fight anyone. What I don't want to see is mixed armies, since the whole 'republic = good, but republic -> empire' thing just creates too many issues.

The Republic buys the clone army to fight the separatists, Palatine takes over the Republic, and gains a clone army.
What is the clear demarcation between when the clones phased out and Stormtroopers phased in? I was hoping to see some of that in Solo. When did the last AT-TE leave the field, and I’m talking about ones still in Militia hands, leaving only AT-AT on the field?

The Clone Wars have to be coming. In the book that comes with the game they say "Troopers are the humans, aliens and droids...." They also say "Vehicles are the walker, airspeeders, repulsor tanks and speeder bikes...."
As far as the First Order and Resistance we will most likely have to wait until the trilogy is fleshed out and the story is concluded. Other than the skirmish on Takodana that really only consisted of Han, Chewbacca, Finn and Rey it was mostly an air strike on Starkiller base and then slowly chasing the Resistance through space and the First Order trying to "open" a closed door. There has yet to be a formal First Order vs Resistance ground battle. 
In the GCW ERA we got the battle of Hoth, the battle of Endor, Sullust was mentioned but never seen, and in the newly installed canon of Rogue One we got Scarif and we know skirmishes were the norm on Jehda. The Clone Wars had more ground combat locations shown in one film then all the other films so far combined. (Revenge of the Sith during Order 66 sequence)
Sorry to the "I love the sequels" crowd but Disney did what they do best at their theme parks and just renovated the OT and sold it as something new. Everything in the sequels is just a touched up version from the original trilogy. At least the prequels had unique looking ships and vehicles that you could see might be inspiration for episodes 4-6. 

To be honest, tho I find globaly that OT is the best, I know i would fall in love for a CSI army lead by Dooku.

But... Kylo Ren. To be honest, the TFA version with his Helmet on is so freaking badass IMO. Plus I see a "Force Stasis" power in the kind of the Choke or Push : Range 1, exhaust, unit get a Stasis token : will do 1 action its next activation (stasis token are not taken of during end step) with him...

EDIT : For during the CW, I want to see a "double side" Anakin : Either we chose to play him as Light Side, with all the options, or Dark Side (yes, with clones) with all the option too.

Hopefully in a galaxy far, far away from here, where they will remain for a long time.
There is a *lot* of GCW-era material to cover before Apple Store Stormtroopers and Army Surplus Rebels should get a look in.

Well, for starters, the Clone Troopers and B-1 droids should be a flip of weapons and armor dice.
The DC-15 (DC-15A in Legends, but TCW retconned the DC-15A as the carbine and the DC-15s as the sidearm) is a long range, high power, accurate weapon, while the E-5 is a pretty cruddy gun, known to produce excessive heating and other cost-cutting measures. Similarly, B-1s are frail as butts but Clones are fully armored. How they handle that in like, cost adjustment I don't know, though it would be probably accurate if CIS had the cheapest basic infantry who only win by numbers but the republic's clones are very good but expensive. 

As a youngster myself i say Prequels before Sequels. I know that I’m kinda in the grey zone of “born just as the prequels were coming out and grew up watching clone wars” but i still think that for this game, the clone wars has more opportunities to make units

Not that it means anything, but Clone wars is closer in time than first order. I am thinking clone wars will come before first order because of content and canon is established. 

People will do a disservice to the game if we do not fill out the armies we have no before moving on. FFG will already be making neutral units between imperial and rebel waves. 

Nope, Snowtroopers have lower speed. 
And Fleet Troopers and Rebel Troopers have different weapons. 
I'm personally not averse to eventually there being ST factions, but I'd prefer they work through the well established OT and PT material first. Because there is so little established for the Resistance and First Order right now, their basic units would just be Rebel Troopers and Stormtroopers with slightly different sculpts. Battle Droids would easily be quite different from regular infantry, and Clone Troopers should be distinct due to their specific training and upbringing. Once LFL lets the training wheels off and we can seriously start exploring the sequel era, build up a more robust selection of units, then FFG should move into it.
You'd be out of First Order and Resistance units to use in less than 6 months, and they'd just be like Empire and Rebels units. Meanwhile FFG could go for years digging into Legends or even their own in-house material and never run out of Rebel and Imperial units. 

They need to stay as far way as possible from the First Order and Resistance, they are just reskinned Rebels and Imperials adding nothing new to the game except minor stat changes and bad characters

Agree with EyeSeven, haven't seen it with other FFG games so don't expect anything here. 

X-wing has those on everything and has never done anything with them.

Here is what I have painted so far.  Vallejo game color Khaki, and Vallejo model color German grey.  I also used Sorastro's leather method that he uses on Luke in his first Legion video, check it out on Youtube if you would like to know those colors.  He is always a great source of inspiration.  Doctor Fausts' Painting Clinic was the inspiration for the basing as he did a desert base video a couple years ago, and I used a slightly modified version.  Another great source for inspiration.  Thanks for looking, and I may post more pictures in this thread as I finish models.
