  1. Along with that, it would add other major tactics to it. Having Leia or Veers parked on it could work well to allow you to transport things around more easily. Also having it as an objective to keep control of a skiff could be a very interesting option. Perhaps a get the skiff to a location...or control so many of them.
  2. Personally, I'd make them less of a unit and more of a special terrain one, possibly even used as an objective. Empty ones are stationary, when stationary it can be freely boarded by standard movement. Control is determined by which side has the most on board it. Having it move with only a portion of the automatic moves normally there with Speeder vehicles, perhaps having the required move if it was used for a move action the prior round. It would probably work best with the medium movement tool. Needing to climb (or force jump) onto it while it's in control of a side would work. Those onboard are treated as having the benefits of the speeder type cover from those not also inside it. Once per round, the player who has control of it, may spend a move from a unit onboard to move it.
  3. In Legends there was a great comic set on Bespin about that. Vader's the reason why Chewie got Threepio's parts back
  4. From the picture, they look a lot like foam board cut in random shapes and stacked on a skewer...
  5. Personally, I'd go with him having a force ghost ability on his main card, if this character is defeated then one allied character gains an aim token and you may transfer one force power from this character to another character with the ability to take a force power even if all of their power slots are taken.
  6. I tend to like things like the crab droids and hailfire droids as well. Plus imagine a swarm of buzz droids as a unit. The large cloud of them swarming in to shred everything in their path. Think of something like the Scraplet scenes in Transformers Prime...
  7. If you want some real fun with Ewoks, there is the comic that's set from the POV of an imperial Stormtrooper that survived Endor...the only thing he still has good in his life was the belief that the Endor Holocaust happened, only to have the story end by him being told that the rebels stopped that from happening. There is also the old Illustrated Star Wars Universe that has a rather interesting story that's a prequel to RotJ about the Imperial expedition to the Forest Moon of Endor where they were scouting for a location to build the ground facilities needed for the Death Star's construction.
  8. It's an interesting take on them, but the coloration looks kind of off. Not entirely sure if it's the pics or the actual colors. It also looks far to "samey" in coloration. Personally, I'd say a darker red option would work better for the scheme, saving the brighter reds for highlights.
  9. I've tried a few times, though with some borrowed ones since I haven't gotten around to getting my own as of yet and there's quite a few people building both sides and only playing one along with using a few borrowed bases with some of the WotC speeders set on them. I've also kind of cobbled together a Commander Skywalker, Rogue Leader stats which would simply use another speeder for the mini and would let you swap a trooper slot for an extra T-47...it's in the thread for custom units...
  10. Using platicard to smooth the top shouldn't change anything for gameplay. My Imperials have a layer of plastic canvass over them for a grating on most of them. I have one set that I had sanded smooth and then used a layer of polyeurethane after painting to try for a very smooth, semi-reflective look (Which I then, accidentally, messed up by using superglue rather than the other options that wouldn't have frosted it and forced me to do other things to make it look semi-right).
  11. Kind of wish they'd also have the standard bases as well...
  12. Not directly to buy, but a lot of more urban terrain can work for it. Look at the buildings with multiple stories or higher walls. Even some Endor style trees tend to be big enough to give cover.
  13. The issue that is about to come into play is with the new turrets, in a heavier terrain scenario the rebel one will end up nearly useless.
  14. I've largely been making my own, but I've been planning on buying others. Here's a link to where I've got a tutorial for the trees I've been making for the table... Truncated Trees
  15. 501st Legion : Vader's Fist Stormtrooper Only, Unique 25 points This unit gains +2 Courage, and Pierce 1 against units with deflect This unit also gains 1 additional personnel upgrade slot Unique upgrade status is removed if Darth Vader is a commander Using personnel upgrades to also work for specialized training options would also work since there isn't really a title type upgrade...
  16. Personally, I still prefer the "fringe" term rather than Scum & Villainy... It's one of the things that WotC had gotten so right with it, they're not all crooks and criminals, they're just the other groups that aren't part of either major faction. Something like CorSec or some security agency (or even someone like Dash Rendar) are just as much a part of it as the Hutts or Black Sun...
  17. One thing to keep in mind is that, in the US, it's often cheaper to get the premixed patching spackle at the hardware store than to get and mix sculptamold. Don't know about anywhere else, but a couple bucks for a pretty large thing of it is rather common, and cheaper with coupons/sales...
  18. The easy way to prevent the list from only being nominally factional would be to have limits tied into it. Say that unless specifically noted (Some could be Fringe/Rebel or Fringe/Imperial type things), they cannot be from opposed factions and you have specific slots that must be filled with that faction. So if you want to have CorSec in your force, you need to have a CorSec commander (Or, in some cases, it could be an Operative). That opens a limited number of slots from your force organization option as being useable with that force. For truly mercenary units, having them be limited by cost and/or making them limited in number of them usable in a force or even unique in a faction force...
  19. Using CorSec as an example, perhaps have a CorSec faction key word along with the fringe faction. Some characters may have a dual faction where the second faction is more of limiting how you can use them with other factions. For instance, Corran Horn. He'd be Fringe/Rebel with the CorSec keyword. You might also have some commander units designated that if they aren't with a fringe faction, they cannot be the only commander...
  20. Part of my current issue with having a scum or other armies mixed into it is that the current point in the game there is already a lack of diversity due to it being a very young game. Perhaps next year would be a better time to start when there becomes a decent amount of options for the Imperials and Rebels already in play. There is also a lot of room for other minor factions that could play either on their own or as part of one or both current armies. One example that could be fun would be a CorSec force, having them be a relatively small selection that anyone could mix into their army in small numbers would be an interesting take on things, further if there's enough, well, some people might go for a whole force because they want to do so...
  21. I've played two games with grand army rules, it works fine if you just use them as written. One major thing with larger point games is that the comms upgrades are a lot more effective if you're using orders for them.
  22. If you want an easy way to paint the adobe spackle type look, prime dark, hit it with a base coat of ivory/bone/similar off-white. Then get a brown acrylic art ink and water it down, then work if over the spackle from the bottom of the piece up (You want darker colors at the lower edges), then drybrush the same color you used for the basecoat. Then you can do your detail work on things that aren't the spackle. It looks rather good, and it goes fast on getting it on. Used that when helping a friend do some Afghan War tables for an event he was running a couple years ago...
  23. Both Black Sun and the Zann Consortium would be interesting options there. The Hutt's used to be known for having their own fleets...ones that are still semi-involved in Disney stuff already since the Hutts had the fleets and forces to make the CIS and Republic both think twice about messing with them during the Clone Wars. I'm kind of hammering out rules for a take on a non-Scum, limited faction that would also be rather good for also being a "wild" faction to drop onto the table and have go after everyone...yes, I loved the concept of the Rak'ghoul plague and the events tied to it from TOR...
  24. ****, even with the real military there are how many different camo patterns and gear sets for different environments? Pretty much every environment has a camo pattern designed for it. You also have piles of environmental specific gear that is issued in different areas, it's not a one size fits all scenarios thing and a galaxy is a heck of a lot bigger than a single planet. Scarif is also a place where they store high security info, it might also be a testing ground for new gear because it's already classified what's going on there other than it being a data center.
