    Sure.

    Hyperspace ring

You lose the boost and evade actions
You treat your turn maneuvers as 1 difficulty higher

Because you know... It makes the ship fly worse.

Your wish is granted. FFG Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game first edition is finished, and there will be no more new mechanics released after the new wave hits the stores.

    On a more serious note.

Percentage wise, most people are getting out of this conversion kit way better than it could be expected. If you think that you have a collection way bigger than what most people have, and that percentage cost is still high, well, don't be mad for people not feeling for you. That's like complaining that you pay more taxes, despite earning more.
    Yeah... that's the point.

Another point people keep saying, how the number of ships isn't convenient for them, because they play 1 more TIE defender than it is present in the box, and because of this, they NEED to buy a whole new conversion kit. I'm pretty sure some people are willing to trade. And I am also sure, you don't know if it is even possible to run 3 defenders anymore. (or 5 X-wings, or whatever... we have no point costs, we don't know anything about lists). Is it unreasonably high cost to buy a full second conversion kit, just because you have 3-4 types of ships you can't use the maximum possible amount of?
No. It is unreasonable to buy a full second conversion kit.

Is it cheap? No, not really.
But it was made by months of hard work, redesign and obviously listening to our complaints. This was an expensive project from FFG. It shouldn't come free. I don't expect it to.

I feel that if you look at the problem rationally, you can see that most complaints don't really hold merit. Whining about it feels entitled. Spamming about it feels tired.

Commander Kaine got a reaction from Keffisch in What IS "Rebel Bias"?
Some of you have poked fun at my 102% serious claim of Rebel Bias, and with the advent of 2nd edition, I feel the need to explain what do I exactly mean by this term.

Now, as you have pointed it out, rebels sometimes get shafted, and other factions are sometimes great. How could I still see rebel bias everywhere, when there are clearly examples of great imperial and scum ships? Well... here is the explanation, you've been all waiting for. This little piece is about 1.0, mostly because we know more about it. Also, there is maybe 1.5% chance of the designers actually abandoning their wrongful practices, but don't get your hopes up.

Contrary to what you might think, Rebel bias doesn't actually mean that ALL rebel ships are supremely overpowered. It means, that certain notions of balance, lore accuracy, and design principles are often abandoned when creating rebel content. This is done in comparison to imperial content, which is very conservative.
"Now hold up" I hear you say. "Isn't that the same?"
No. Not at all. But first, let me insert a disclaimer here, because I have a feeling you will mention this otherwise. I don't think that every rebel ship is the result of this process. There are exceptions.
Rebel bias means that when designing ships, the devs rather err on the strong side with rebel ships... Now if you think I am some crazy person, think about it for a second.
This phenomenon is not unknown by wargamers. In EVERY edition of Warhammer, spacemarines were viable. They might not have been the best, but they weren't atrocious. It's because they are the mascot faction. Most of their IP revolves around space marines, they manufacture most of the figures for that faction. It would be financially unwise for them to make them unplayable. Their most recognizable product, is always viable. Maybe not the best, but just to be safe, they cannot be bad.
Star Wars, as I'm sure will come as a surprise to noone, is a bit skewed towards some factions. In a given time period, the main guys are always the Rebellion, Republic or the Resistance. (ReReRe... Haven't even noticed that before)

This translates to X-Wing very well. Now I'm going to give you an example, and just to beat on a dead horse, i'm going to illustrate my point with the Punisher and the K-Wing. Why? Because they were released at the same time, and they are supposed to fill a similar role.
I can believe that the K-Wing was supposed to be stronger by a tiny bit in design, and this is represented by the point cost difference. However, one does not need to be a rocket engineer to realize the difference between them is a tad larger than what the point cost lets you to believe. Many of my peers will say that this is just sheer incompetence, and that the Punisher was just THAT much weaker because the designers are THAT bad.
    So.

PWT. Turret slot. Crew slot. Slam.
    Vs.
Front arc. Double missile slot. System slot. Boost.

Sure enough, looks quite similar. They have the same amount of stuff... but the stuff is much better on the rebel side. So much better than pretty much everyone can immediately realize how uneven this comparison is. Just looking at an arc coverage, the K-Wing covers 4 times the area of the Punisher, while being more mobile. (A frequent problem with 1.0 design). Rebel crew slots are also famously powerful. Plus regeneration on Miranda... Now ask yourself the question... Do you think that anyone seriously believed that the Punisher is worth just a single point less? Now, if yes, what makes you think these people are even able to create any semblance of balance, lacking such fundamental understanding of game mechanics? This is a BIG difference.
Why? Why does such a big difference between power even exist? How could they not see it?
Or was it that they were aware of the discrepancy between the ships, but they choose to under cost the K-Wing on purpose, to err on the side of the heroes?
If you doubt that, think about the TIE aggressor. Why didn't it get an EPT on the second generic? Well, I guess they were afraid of the TLT-Ruthlessness combo... But do you think that the same people who wouldn't be concerned by releasing miranda, would be by a relatively weak synergy? Consider that in the same wave they made several lapses in judgement, again, erring on the side of rebel power.

Star Wars lacks nuance, and this can be seen in how the fiction treats its factions. There is a reason why they call a tanky rebel list Plot armor. There is more rebel crew, because there are more rebel characters. Simple is that. There are things inherent to the universe that favor rebels, and the designers in 1.0 didn't do a good job of balancing these factors. They have been enhancing this effect, especially by being careful with SOME cards, and not others.

Do you ever feel when you are flipping through imperial cards that these are ALMOST good? They just have a bit too many restrictions. If you wanna have fun, go and read imperial only upgrades and abilities, and compare them with similar abilities from others. 2.0 Wedge vs Soontir is a very good example of this, and a reason why I am worried about 2.0.
    Luke Gunner is also suspect.
If you have above average perception abilities, you might notice how both Wedge and Luke are rebel characters.

so, I don't know what is your explanation to these things... Can they just be this blind, as to create blunders like the Punisher, without even realizing what are they doing? I seriously doubt it. To me it doesn't seem so far fetched, when you look at certain Rebel crew cards... They are way more efficient than most other crews, and they are well known characters... Is it an accident that the famous quasi protagonist of a TV show called Rebels, is a meta defining card with insane value?

Well, its not there for you to prove wrong.

Also, this comment describes most of the threads here... And if anything, 2.0 showed us that FFG listens to at least some criticism. And if an internet troll can make you dislike X-Wing, maybe you didn't like it enough.

Nope. You don't merely perform a BONUS attack. "You may perform" an attack. You have the option not to. Hence "may" and "a".

What Han does, is give you essentially 2 Initiative values for the engagement phase. You MAY pick 7, or whatever your native skill would be. Then you can perform an attack. If you select Han's, your normal initiative doesn't allow you to attack another time, because you already attacked once, and you cannot do that. You don't activate twice.

The wording of a BONUS ATTACK exists solely to solve this problem. Every ship gets to make 1 attack. If you get more, you will get the BONUS ATTACK keyword. If you don't have that, you perform a normal attack. Even if it is granted by an ability.
You get 1 window of opportunity for attack, unless you have the bonus attack keyword.

Han is worded like this, so in the possible future, there might be some interaction between him and other cards. (Double gunner slot? maybe?)

Wait, what just happened?  This has been a lively discourse, not a hate-parade.  I actually don't disagree with Commander Kaine, I'm just not as polarized.  I know the internet can be devoid of reason, but this discussion has absolutely been reasonable and several posters have made valid points.  When Kaine said he was "honestly curious" about my last point (and I checked - it's not been specifically stated in the way I presented the concept) I took that as him actually being honestly curious - not as him looking to bash me for an idea.  And, quite honestly, he's not wrong about errata being a better option in certain circumstances - I simply haven't found anything in the game at this stage that warrants that type of attention (correcting a rule that's not functioning on a fundamental level), though the Devs did with the elimination of stress from the Slave 1 title (I believe).  So, it IS in practice right now, which has also been stated multiple times.

So, everyone's made their point and it's been good, but now it's devolving into the usual $#!+show.  Lol.  Let's stay on track, if possible.

One thing I really like about 2.0 is that FFG at least has several options for repairing damaging cards.  Their forethought in this regard should be commended.  The fact that we even have this thread discussing it is a testament to their desire to create a long-lasting game.

    Hmm.. Sure buddy.

Don't you think that makes this whole ordeal a bit sadder? Like a LOT sadder?

And you know. If I was trying to troll people, I wouldn't engage people like you in actual discussion, like we have done in this thread. I think that proves that my "trolling" is at best just a trapping, and not the actual message.
My opinion may not be popular (it isn't), but I do genuinely believe it... That's why I am arguing for it. And the point is not to get reactions on my posts. It's not the best tactic for that.
And I kinda can't take the criticism of making the forum a worse place seriously, when people like him, do the things they do. Continually posting here, with no substance at all. That is trolling. I'm just making a point. He is a bully. I'm an ***. And he is X-Wing famous. I'm suddenly not sure that I am literally everything that is wrong with this hobby.

So all this kinda falls apart. I am not out for outrage, I am not out for reactions, I'm out for actual discussion, which this thread provides btw.

K-s can get away after bombing like no one else and they still have infinite regen miranda, and Sabine.
Rebs have great jousters themselves, and swarms can be outflown by stuff. Even by X-wings.
I don't see how trajectory simulator would make anything less blob-y

Not every faction can do everything. Maybe rebels had their stuff removed on purpose?

I mean, Imps now have the best bombers, rebels still have more turrets and fire arcs than anyone else.

HWK, Y-Wing, Falcon, Ghost, K-wing, Shuttle 2, Autzituck, Outrider

Compared to the Aggressor, Lambda and Deci on the imps.

Besides, if large bases get a cost reduction (likely), the Falcon and Outrider will be ample counters to swarms. Kiting and moving away, outflying them and using obstacles to beat the swarm players.

Let the punisher be great. Let it be something that they can do best. Is that too much to ask?

Commander Kaine got a reaction from player2422845 in 2.0: As a rebel player, can I do anything to Jendon Bombers? (besides cry)
Why is that when there is a mechanic that is unavailable to the Imps, and if people ask for it it's just whining, but god forbid the rebels don't have access to everything.
It's fine that rebels aren't the best bombers anymore... K-Wings have their special thing with Slam, and both of their bombers have turrets, and they still have sabine, who is really cool.
The rebels need trajectory sim, like the imps need regen on their fighters.

It's not even their flavor to have really great bombers, and the bombers they have do the flavor well. Bombing and slamming away. Classic rebel style.

The K-Wing (and all turret carriers) just need better turrets. Once we get a worthwile turret for damage, it will be all cool.
