Why has nobody mentioned an even more serious matter: that of sexual harassment?
Surely touching the female miniature without her expressed permission constitutes gross sexual harassment and shouldn't be allowed. I for one will not touch the female miniature in Fallout until she specifically gives me permission.

I've decided to go more for vlog than blog when it comes to sharing thoughts, ideas and game play. Though you can find my YouTube Channel on my profile, I thought I'd share the Introduction video (complete with a photo of my Genesys rulebook and dice).

    Coming up for Genesys:
    Hollywood Genesys
Armed with a collection of fun DVDs that I feel suit the idea of being roleplayed, I'll be talking about how I plan to go about that. Including what will happen if the players, through no fault of their own - it's just the way the dice fall - go off-script. Also what sort of characters players can create for the specific settings.
    Genesys: Pacific Rim
While it will be fun to play as Jaeger pilots, and it is certainly something I'm going to attempt at some point, this is actually more of a survival game. Characters find themselves in a city being attacked by the Kaiju and need to survive, find loved ones and generally try not to get dead. I'm hoping this will combine with the Pacific Rim Extinction board game (currently on Kickstarter), and I'll be sharing how I plan on combining the board game action with a session of roleplaying.

There will be other videos, but those are the first two I'm going to make on the topic of Genesys.

First of all, I like it. Sounds like great fun. I'll even admit to answering some of those questions while I was reading.
Sounds interesting. Will be great if you can cross some backgrounds.
When it comes to the darker sides of their background that comes back to haunt them, perhaps put them in a situation where they have to choose between repeating the mistake or choosing to do the right thing. The twist here is that repeating their evil is rewarded and doing the right thing is punished. This is H E L L after all.
On the topic of "home", perhaps have a room where the characters find themselves in their idealised home. Not necessarily their real home, but the ideal. Well behaved children, loving wife/husband, plenty of money in the bank etc. Character must fight against the illusion of his/her paradise or be forever entranced.
This could be taken to in another direction, where the cause of the illusion is a siren who is getting ready to attack.
Perhaps they have to earn their passage? I can't imagine they'd be walking around with the payment they need. Perhaps have a side adventure where they help an NPC who turns out to be a good and helpful thing that flicks a coin to them to pay the ferryman.

I have an idea for and interesting Dungeon Crawl and I would love people's opinions. It would be a mini campaign that was probably last 8 sessions for so. Players would make seasoned characters who get extra starting XP and would have to answer the following question

     1. What was your childhood like?
     2. Who do you call family?
‎3. Where do you call home?
     4. What is your greatest fear?
     5. What is your most joyous moment?
‎6. Please detail one moment of victimization your charcter has experienced.
     7. Please explain two moments of villainy and regret caused by your character.
     8. Your character just recently experience a near death experience, what was it?

The catch will be that the characters all died during their near death experience and they are now making their way through the 9 circles of ****, one level at a time.  The information from their backgrounds would constantly be used throughout the dungeon crawl as they face their mistakes.

For example, if someone's background said they deeply regretted killing a innocent old man, one of the rooms they would encounter would have the old man in it.
Many of the rooms would also put them in a different location temporarily.  If someone said that a two-bedroom Cottage in the woods is what they call home, then the players name enter a room within the dungeon to find themselves in that same Cottage while it starts to burn down.
     ‎
I think that many of the combat encounters would also be against their loved ones or other people from their backgrounds.  In addition, I would also like to connect there backgrounds when ever possible.  For example maybe one characters victimization was caused by another's villainy.
     ‎
I would love to know what you would do differently or add to it.  Also would love to know what kind of encounters you would add.  I definitely would like an encounter where they have to pay the ferryman to carry them across. I would also love to have a few good old dungeon style traps and maybe a riddle or two.

By all means, do your thing. I was just pointing out that much of the work has been done, or at least has a template, that you wouldn't have to do all the leg work or create from scratch. It also gives a point of reference for balance and continuity.
And if there was any confusion, outside of specific system details, all the stuff in Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay 3rd Edition (WFRP3e) is already done in Genesys rules really (Characteristics, Thresholds, etc.)

You could have it a couple hundred years or thousands of years later after a group of elves tried to elminate the dwarves and humans which made them split off and introduce the dark elves and maybe the dwarves seperated between two factions, the good dwarves that just want to live simple lives and then you have the chaos dwarves that want the grudge to leave them in peace...

I for one welcome any women into the hobby. They are, from my own experience, sadly lacking which is a shame but I just assumed its because they weren't that bothered about playing with games and little plastic toy soldiers. Often when I see women, such as at a games day, they're really just there to treat their man, not because they themselves are interested. At that same games day, I almost jumped out of my skin to find that rarest of gems: the female tabletop miniature gamer.
She was the only member of staff there I actually had an intelligent conversation with. Everyone else, or should that be all the males, simply went about their business and acknowledged my presence with a sort of grunt. But she had this big beaming smile and went into enthusiastic conversation about all the miniatures she was standing beside.

I am very excited about this upcoming re-release.    I have been a Star Wars fan since I stared wide eyed and mouth agape at the Devastator chasing down the Tantive IV.
I was an editor and developer for West End Games back in the day.  Much later on, during the early years of Wookieepedia, material that would later be considered Canon had my stamp on it as well.
I loved Rogue One and made some notes for my own home games when the film came out.
I am expanding those notes and wanted to share them here with our community.   I hope with the re-release some of you get to put these game inspirations to use in your own adventures.

Yes let not worry whether games are actually good or not, whether they play well or are thematic ... as long as there are equal number of male and female playing pieces!
And my first report back as following, the women in our group are not bothered about a figure being male or female. Have taken it to work, and ok these are now game players rather than gamers, so best I could do is use the likes of video as an example for gender characters... but I am yet to find 1 woman or girl that is bothered about gender when playing a game, most jumped straight to monopoly and said they would be more bothered about not getting their favourite piece in that hahaha
Maybe UK women think different? ... where was the original post from?

As a dad who's always trying to "nerd-up" my daughter, I'm always happy to see more female characters in a game.  In the case of Fallout, people who dive deep into the source material will know that 2 of the 5 characters (the power armor and the super mutant) are gender-neutral, but the look of the super mutant doesn't help.  Furthermore, the nerd genres where female armor is represented in a realistic way are very small... in my universe, only Fallout and Captain Phasma come to mind.
Unfortunately, even though my own daughter is very much in favor of not accentuating her own femininity needlessly (hooray!), I think even she would see such dull-looking armor in a game and assume that the person inside is male.  Maybe we'll soon get to a tipping point where that changes, thanks to the likes of Gwendoline Christie
Anyway, if I use the too-many-choices FFG Talisman character roster as an example, I imagine that expansion content will feature a much better gender-mix than this base game.  We'll get some good stuff - I have hope!

Alright heck with it, I thought about making my own topic for a bit and now that I have two minis finished I think I can justify it!  Here's my mostly-finished Ghoul and Super Mutant minis.  Basing still TBD, and as I look at the super mutant I see some details I want to fix.  Either way, I'm proud of these two.
