Start by going through the tutorial in Tabletop itself, just to learn how to navigate the application. Then go through it a second time.

Then you can start fiddling around in the various mods, and look at some tutorials on youtube for specific mods! Its a breeze to be honest, and Legion has one of the best and easiest to use interfaces ive seen so far! Creating a list takes less then a minute!

I was sceptical at first but it really is worth it, so much more intuitive then I could have imagined.
Ive played a little x-wing, destiny and legion in it and it all works fantastic! TTS itself is very easy to learn, different mods can require a bit of learning and figuring things out but nothing you wont manage in a few short hours.

Also, you can always refund and get your money back through steam but a word of advice; I dont think the two hours allowed playtime is enough to fully learn and experience TTS with whatever game(s) you wanna play. But the option is there at least.

In the long run you can can spend more time playing, and deciding what units you actually want to buy.
Also I like the competitive side of the online sims (Vassal X-Wing in particular), everyone has access to all and as many expansions as they want. I think it's probably worth the asking price just for Legion, assuming it stays updated.

    Hi all,
Tieren here, I’m the creator of the TTS mod for legion.
If I do a launch league for legion to celebrate the launch of legion, with maybe core boxes as the prize, who’ll be interested?
if there’s enough interest I’ll organize it!
    lemme know if you want!

    @Jarlh Thanks so much.
The Anti-Aircraft Turret started as an idea mixing both designs from video games and wanting it to look vaguely AT-AT-esque. Here is the base shapes when I started. It consists of insulation foam, drywall spackle, and a wheel caster picked up for $3 at Home Depot.

After gluing the shapes together, I used a file and sandpaper to shape up the foam. The wheel was taken off the caster and it was inserted into the foam with gorilla glue. It has a full 360 rotation.

After the basic shape was there, I used a technique called greebling. I just made that word up, but it is a real thing. A greeble, by definition, is an added detail that gives an otherwise made up or useless object look useful, while giving it scale. Basically, you glue stuff to it to make it look cool. There is a band of leather strap around the cylinder, the side walls were carved out, then covered in drywall sandpaper. the gun barrels are fish tank tube stuffed with a kabob skewer, and the rest of the greebles are random items from old model sprues. Mostly WWII bombers and the such. And the side circle caps are some random thing from Home Depot. Electral caps of sort. I hit it with a coat of black primer when all the pieces were glued on.

I did a base coat of light gray acrylic. I then did a subtle black wash over the entire gun. I followed up with a darker black wash for specific areas. I used a silver dry brush to hit the edges to show metal wear. And lastly I hit all appropriate spots with a black weathering powder. I'm thinking about adding rust effects, but that decision will be made when the board is closer to finished to see how "beaten up" the military base will be. The wash I used left a bit of a shine I'm not happy about, and I'll probably go back and try to tone that down.

Pedro the FFG Logistics Division Lead will also add 0-5 months of time to this.
Wave 3 of Armada was on the boat so long it arrived at the same time as Wave 4 about 4-5 months late, and traveled at an average speed of some 8km a day.

Very large store ... awesome store ... track this, as if it was 1984, manually in a 3-ring binder.  With that comes a total lack of security with CC information in the year of 2018 and 2018 business rules.  In desperate need of a better POS; inventory and CRM systems ... whole different dialogue.
Trust me.  Tried talking this through with a few folks at the store and the concept of pre-pay ... please, take my money .... went nowhere
But ... super nice people and, when, I go and ask 100 questions about paints and products, always super helpful and I do what I can to give them my business.
    Win some.  Lose some.

I am quickly learning something you have to test and think through.  So you don't end up with a bunch of minis you are time committed on with some ... yeah, not feeling it ... regrets

Think the bigger question is Endor, Hoth, Sullust, Tatoonie etc themed colour schemes.
Soo many basing options not enough bases.

Awesome Sorastro... While I am a long time painter.. I see the benefit in painting tutorials.. Every one can always learn something new..

Additional advice I would give to new painters.. are this...
    Paint with Friends..
    Know when to quit painting.
Only you has to be satisfied with the paint job..
You don't have to use the exact paints he does..  but priming is important..
    Aces...

    Thanks a lot Undeadguy!
I honestly don't know how long it would take me to paint 7 of these troopers if I was just painting because the planning and filming adds so much extra time on.  I might also be a little less precise if I was just painting for myself and not being filmed in 4K resolution!  I can tell you this was an unusually long episode to produce because I chose to present two entirely different colour schemes though
Hi!  I imagine they were aware of me because I've dedicated three years to producing videos covering Imperial Assault which has proven to be quite a popular series that has helped a large number of people get into the hobby.  My philosophy to what I do is very simple; I aim to do what I'm passionate about and I work extremely hard to produce content that is absolutely to the best of my abilities.  I believe everything else flows from that.
Hi Tryna!  I've currently just got the minis

Simply amazing. This is my favorite session yet, and has made me more excited to get into Legion.
I love how detailed you are when you paint because it let's me pick certain techniques that I want to incorporate into my own painting style, without having to do each step you do.
How long does it take you to paint a set of minis? 7 of one color scheme looks like a lot of work, even more so when you add in dry time for each color and layer.

My girlfriend and I look forward to your next video!

Hi Lord Ashram! Yes, Ralgon is correct; I was invited by FFG to work on the game early so that as soon as the game hits the shelves there will already be a full set of painting tutorials ready to go (rather than my consistently playing catch up as I do with Imperial Assault!)

Ive alsways found great inspiration for terrain and tables from what other people put together, with that in mind, I thought it would be great for there to be 1 huge Table setup thread, rather than people posting amazing tables and then after a few days they vanish from view, lost to everyone.
If anyone agrees, post up your tables for everyone to get some ideas!!

Here are my two table so far.  The Endor one will be improved by A shuttle Pad, Radar dish and bunker soon from BattleKiwi so will look quite different soon.

    Hey everybody,
I've decided to start a blog discussing the gameplay of Legion, called Prepare for Ground Assault. I know it may seem a bit premature, given that the game is still unreleased and the full rules aren't even revealed yet. Nevertheless, I'm excited for this game and have spent some time thinking about it, and decided I'd share some of these musings with any of you who are interested. If nothing else, it's something more to look at while we all wait.
To start with, I've got an article analyzing Vader's stats, including some predictions on how to use him effectively. I'm planning on doing a similar post on each of the announced units. Since there isn't a whole ton of gameplay for me to talk about before release, I expect to update once every 1-2 weeks. At that rate I expect have a post for all 8 units hopefully around the time the game releases.
I'm new to blogging, so if you have any suggestions or a relevant blog of your own that you'd like to share, feel free to let me know.

Imo, "mousepad" (neoprene) is absoutely better and more enjoyable to play on. It looks better (not as shiny as pvc tend to be) and feels great, to pick up tokens and cards and roll dice on.

    I have the 6x3 grassy plains 2.
I am in the process of building terrain based on Terrain Tutor youtube (in this he uses filla foam from a can to build hill and rocks, his look great) and I have just gathered my supplies to start this weekend on it.
As well looking to do some tree clumps the same as Sorastros youtube on this.
I figured I spent up on the mat, that I can make some terrain to make it look great. Once finished i'll share some pics!
