  1. 2.0 no way. I will take a 1.x errata replacement cards pack. I’d buy that in a heartbeat.
  2. Was going to make it out today but got sick. Glad to hear about the turnout. Looking forward to your reports!
  3. This ended up being what I settled on. It feels better. Thanks! Radical Liberty (396/400) Rebels Commander: Admiral Raddus Objectives: Superior Positions, Contested Outpost, Station Assault [flagship] MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100) - Admiral Raddus (26) - Electronic Counter Measures (7) - Rapid Reload (8) - Ordnance Experts (4) = 145 total points MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63) - Reinforced Blast Doors (5) - Assault Proton Torpedoes (5) - Ordnance Experts (4) = 77 total points MC80 Liberty Star Cruiser (96) - Leading Shots (4) - XI7 Turbolasers (6) - Gunnery Team (7) = 116 total points Squadrons (61/134): 1x Shara Bey A-wing Squadron (17) 1x Tycho Celchu A-Wing Squadron (16) 1x Gold Squadron Y-wing Squadron (12) 1x YT-2400 (16)
  4. This weekend has regionals tournament play and I thought I’d join the fray. I have no illusions of even being competitive but thought I’d post a fleet and get some feedback. I chose Madine as I really don’t have enough games under my belt and need “newbie helper” upgrades to help correct for my mistakes. If you were handed this fleet, how would you play it, deploy it, etc.? Keep the Liberty pointed forward (400/400) Rebels Commander: General Madine Objectives: Superior Positions, Advanced Gunnery, Contested Outpost [flagship] MC75 Armored Cruiser (104) - General Madine (30) - Overload Pulse (8) - Ordnance Pods (3) = 145 total points MC80 Liberty Battle Cruiser (103) - Mon Karren (8) - Leading Shots (4) - Spinal Armament (9) - Gunnery Team (7) = 131 total points MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63) = 63 total points Squadrons (61/134): 1x Shara Bey A-wing Squadron (17) 1x Tycho Celchu A-Wing Squadron (16) 1x Gold Squadron Y-wing Squadron (12) 1x YT-2400 (16)
  5. Maybe so. Every established gaming community develops bittervets over time. It’s just how it goes. I really just wanted the folks working at FFG trying to bring fun things into our lives - the ones that have nothing to do with marketing and communications - to take encouragement that there are folks out there that think the game is still fun and relevant and their work and creativity isn’t is under appreciated or the game isn’t being abandoned by the entire community.
  6. That’s *super* appealing. Especially at $10 a pop. I look at the Magic players and their $10 single cards and shudder to think how much it would cost to be competitive there.
  7. Thumbs up on Keyforge? I’ll have to give it a go. From what I understand you can buy a single pack and can play a viable game. Is that correct?
  8. I think your perspectives are a bit skewed by bringing marriage and Hitler as relevant analogies to lack of marketing communications. Also, I have no idea who you are. You are one of many who are crying the sky is falling here. I mean this in the nicest way but it wasn’t about you at all.
  9. If it’s not negativity, would a new player visiting these forums come away with a good feeling about the game? It all seems like a tempest in a teapot to me. With reality offering unemployment, chronic illness, broken relationships, death of people we care about, Armada is an escape and source of joy, not another thing to wring your hands over. I do mean they owe us nothing. FFG gave me some plastic spaceships and a a ruleset to play with them. In exchange, I gave them money. Done. What other product do you buy that becomes less valuable over time if a company fails to continually talk about it? I don’t expect it from any board game like Carcassonne. I don’t need Toyota to keep talking about the car I bought from them. I think for myself and others, our “stance” is it would be nice if every other topic wasn’t someong complaining that Armada is dead and FFG somehow owes them something. It’s a turnoff for old and new players alike.
  10. They should hire someone for the Armada forums. Say for 40k a year plus benefits? I’m sure a dedicated Armada forum moderator would result in 40k+ in bonus sales easily and pay for itself twofold, right? 🙄
  11. Armada is one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. Many thanks to your brilliant game designers that have carefully kept the game balanced and kept all waves relevant with evey release. Thank you for not pumping out releases so often we need an Armada 2.0 reboot and conversion kit. Thank you for not polluting it with terrible EU “floating block” ships that lack even the slightest imagination or sense of style. Thank you for the upcoming SSD release. I look forward to seeing how such a unique release (that so many of the complainers were begging for until it was announced) changes our beloved game. Thank you for putting up with all the negativity people spew on these threads. I know that you’re just folks trying to put an honest day’s work in and trying to work towards something that people will find fun before going home at the end of your day. It can’t be great seeing people crap on that with all the “what have you done for me lately” sentiments. Thanks for all of the hours of fun I’ve had playing with my son, theorycrafting fleets and admiring my little plastic models. You don’t owe us a thing.
  12. I call this list Capital Punishment. It’s built around the concept of keeping your good arcs pointed where you need them to be and to limit the opponent’s ability to use defense tokens. Capital Punishment (400/400) Rebels Commander: General Madine Objectives: Superior Positions, Advanced Gunnery, Fire Lanes [flagship] MC80 Assault Cruiser (114) - General Madine (30) - Home One (7) - Electronic Counter Measures (7) = 158 total points MC75 Armored Cruiser (104) - Quad Laser Turrets (5) = 109 total points MC80 Liberty Battle Cruiser (103) - Mon Karren (8) - XI7 Turbolasers (6) - Spinal Armament (9) - Gunnery Team (7) = 133 total points
  13. I know this won’t be popular but I’d rather have FFG release new cards for existing ships or a new Corellian-type campaign or just say Armada is in good shape and we’re calling it “done” rather than release made up EU ships. I mean, might as well throw in a battlestar from Battlestar Galactica or the Enterprise from Star Trek for all it matters at that point if they are just going to add garbage like that bulwark mentioned earlier. I just have a hard time calling it a Star Wars universe if ships like that start creeping into the game.
  14. That’s some of the worst expanded-universe, fan-fiction ugly garbage I’ve ever seen there. Wouldn’t buy either with your money.
  15. Well, that didn't last long ?
