While I generally think you're right, I've been trying Kenobi in an MSU build (where Bail doesn't offer all that much) and like it a lot.
If you can get enough use out of that redirect he'll take you farther than Motti, and for a CR70 that's 2+ uses to come out ahead.  Even if they lock the redirect, that means better odds of evading, to say nothing about the value against squadrons.  He's not great for most lists the way Bail is, but he's got merit.

Caldias is our admin support, but I will take on the day-to-day management of the game, rolling dice, calling time limits, etc. I will be rolling the d6 in my secret discord channel, which folks can ask to join if they desire, but is entirely unnecessary.
Once a player is elected to be General Secretary, they should PM their allegiance to Caldias, who will keep a record of the factions. Caldias will also PM the elected player which factions have how many votes before them.

    Let the Game Commence!

Remove exhaust, make it only work against ships. Or just make it 3 pts.

Yea, but the refresh requirement isn't that big of a deal?  You keep the Focus token until you refresh the Swivel-Mount Cards, so it can benefit all six rounds of the game even if you never ready it.  And for ships that plan on using it, I think that's the point.  Still, would Spinal not just be better to preserve the opportunity to also dual-arc, for 1pt more?  Probably.

It definitely does. The less card they change, the more balanced the whole thing will be. We have half a year to test out all the secondary effects of the upgrade card nerfs and commander buffs.
6 month from now, we might have an overhaul of the underperforming cards too mixing things up again.
The meta shifted through longer periods of time without any new releases lately. I don't understand why can't people accept smaller changes in shorter times. If 2 years was enough to test out things and still find new broken builds (ahhem 2-ship) maybe you can too have fun for half a year with only "half-effort" changes.
Armada is pretty balanced because of his slow life cycle. Even with all these outlier cards, it wasn't much of an issue. Now, it will be even more variety among fleets. Let's see first how it turns out, before you start demanding more and more.

    I tested these changes.
I would have rather seen buffs to a smaller number of previously bottom-tier cards then nerfs that I feel may have been... improper in places (MK and Avenger come to mind.)
Bringing even 3-5 cards like NK-7s into the limelight can make a big difference in broadening the meta.
That said, I'm still very happy with what we got and think it's good for the game.
The first two will probably have more to do with the newfound importance of command tokens, the frequency of exhausts, and the two Separatist commanders triggering crits and using raid respectively.
I have a hard time believing 2 points is the difference between a 130 point ship taking Leading Shots and leaving it in the binder.
Edit: and more generally, that goes for APTs, ACMs, and especially External Racks.  These cards might not work as well as before, but nobody's going to take Rapid Reload seriously because of it.  And if they were taking FTs or Pods they were trying to do something fundamentally different anyway.  There's just not much else to bring.

You are. In my opinion of course.
Not to continue to hijack the original post, but to answer your take on 1.5:
We got a lot.  Armada was already a great game.  A 1.5 lets us keep the bones we love without wrecking everything all at once. It is already quite a lot:
Pass token activation changes and SA\Bail\Pryce elimination
Two new factions (That now have to be balanced in to the game forever more)
A living rules document(That may allow for quicker changes and errata and faq a la Legion)
    Evade token changes
    Ace Fleet building change
    Intel change
Loads of upgrade changes (that EACH have to be balanced within the existing structure)
The thing I take most exception to is calling the effort 'half-assed' . There are always going to be some issues with things, but at this moment (with the exception of some physical issues with the product) the whole endeavor seems like a great success.  I have never seen such excitement for the game locally or online.

Of those 3 ships, 2 have very powerful builds that benefit greatly from the ECM nerf.
The change is likely to hit exactly what it was meant to here.

    It's not 20 years old.

Being able to chase down smaller craft (like a certain CR90) is important because the entire point is to have a versatile, extensively used terror weapon suitable for suppressing insurrections.  Being outrun by the Toyota Camry of the Star Wars universe is bad optics. 🙂

If they start arguing that its their opppnents fault for not being fluent in delta baseplates, then yes I would.
In most circumstances where the player is suitably apologetic and has tried to be reasonable, no.

This does help keep it in perspective.  Imagine being handed the reigns to a seven year old game that you've never played and being told that you're now in charge of balancing and designing it.  That you have to appease players who have been playing this game for almost a decade, and that you need to do this by offering new and novel things to them, curating a balanced competitive meta, and repair any broken elements of the game.  Yikes.  I don't envy anyone over at AMG.

This sort of daunting task would sure make scrapping those games and launching new original games in their stead a lot more tempting... because then you don't have to play catch-up with a community of players who have nearly a decade's head start on understanding the game...

2 of the RitR special objectives refer to them, but that's something to deal with before models hit the table.
I honestly don't see it becoming an issue, but if it is then it's just something one will have plenty of advance notice to deal with.
