  1. Haha, my players also came to the immediate conclusion that Hitoshi was Doji Satsume's bastard. At the dinner scene, I made sure to play up Toshimoko's roguish personality, and made the Scorpion gift's implications a little more obvious and they figured it out. They were all super invested in Hitoshi's story and were hilariously outraged at the results of the Fitness competition. Their ultimate goal was to get Hitoshi a place at the Kakita Dueling Academy, so he had the chance (unknowingly anyway) to learn from and spend time with his father.
  2. I've got the same issues with Question 7 - I'm already thinking about homebrewing "agree with clan" so a player can either choose an additional starting skill from their school (rank 0 to 1 only), or take the rank in the "unconventional samurai skill."
  3. I'd definitely be interested in giving it a shot as well.
  4. While my experiences were much more positive than yours, I 100% agree with you about the investigation portion of the module. There's no mystery whatsoever the way it is currently laid out - the party immediately finds out everything about the murder straight from Hirohide right at the get go. I modified it significantly to make it more interesting (I didn't tell them that the culprit was already identified, for one, and didn't mention anything about Michiru or maho, allowing evidence of both to be discovered, and from there, for the party to discover that the as-yet unknown Keinosuke headed to the Kaiu wall).
