I could see that too. Ijust figured Primary only would be an actual drawback to regen for her attack- whereas with TLT it's a no-brainer. Plus it keeps her from buffing up to a 5 dice Harpoon missile.

Things that need a nerf BEFORE Harpoons:
1.) Remove the Scurrg's EPT on all pilots.
2.) Restrict Miranda's pilot ability to only work with her Primary weapon.
3.) Change TLTs to range 1-2.
4.) Change Reinforce on small ships to read: "If you take Hull damage from any source, you immediately lose any Reinforce tokens currently on your ship."
Then, and ONLY then am I willing to entertain Harpoon nerf. Yes, they are better than any other missile by a wide margin. Yes, they promote an alpha-strike meta. But if you nerf them without the above getting nerfed first, all you'll do is turn the meta into a 100% Rebel tank/regen fest- which is SOOOOOOOO boring/aggrivating to play/play against.
Or we could just leave it alone and embrace the relatively diverse meta.

It would be really cool if the Tumor TIE were a cheap crew carrier that doesn't suck *** (like the TIE shuttle bomber)-especially if it comes with some cheap, Imperial Only crew. Something like the Phantom II?

Exactly right. Thweek is pretty good but in a balanced way, which means he gets dumpstered by the current crop of Nym, Miranda, Wookies, Fenn, Kanan, ultra S tier ships. If he had an EPT, he'd be GREAT. Maybe he could steal Nyms? (God I hate Nym and whoever gave him an EPT should feel bad).

As long as harpoons go un-nerfed swarms are never, ever coming back.
So yeah, it's great that harpoons make arcs matter, but single-handedly erasing an entire squad archetype is not worth the cost.
Harpoons are stupid and bad for the game.
Harpoons are not keeping swarms out of the meta. A FEW things are keeping swarms out of the meta:
Wookies (Reinforce utterly WRECKS 2 attack sips and multiple attacks)
Bombs (Sabine, Nym, Miranda, take your pick they all just annihilate swarms)
Harpoons are certainly also harming swarms, but if harpoons disappear, swarms are not coming back. There's WAY too much stacked up against swarms for them to ever come back. Pray for 2.0 if you want swarms to be competitive again.

I'm a big believer that it's harpoons, AND ONLY harpoons, that are keeping Imps relevant in the meta currently. Without harpoons Imps would have no tools to deal with the ultra-reliable defenses of rebels and Assaj. If harpoons get a big nerf, Imps evaporate.
Seriously, the only Imp list I EVER see without harpoons is TLT Aggressors.
I'm with OP- they're making arcs matter again, and the meta is the most diverse it's been in ages.

With Miranda, it's all about the mind games. Who cares how you fly her, just make sure you have witty quips in store when you inevitably get flamed for putting her on the table:
"Regen is actually really well balanced! Sorry Imps!"
"I guess you just have to Git Gud, or play Miranda yourself!"
"TLT and a PWT has LOTS of counterplay! You should really just stay beyond range 3 all the time."
"Boy, Sabine is really healthy for the game! 2pt-tastic!"
"If I put all the OP things people hate onto one ship, X-Wing will be fun again!"

I for sure take it with a grain of salt. However, I'm inclined to believe it considering how poor the releases have been as of late. It should have taken all of 30 seconds to realize that Genius + Traj. Sim needed to have it's wording more clearly defined. Same with TLTs and Harpoon condition. There's simply no way that these cases wouldn't raise questions if the waves were being properly playtested. Something smells fishy.

It's just everything we hate about the game, all in one place. Honestly, we're officially at needing a 2.0. I wasn't a believer in a new game until this competitive season, now I'm 100% on board. Old X-Wing needs to die, and we need a new rule set. Bleh.

Rumor I heard (mind you I have no direct connection to any playtester) is that Wave 12 only received minimal playtesting with a few close to FFG playtesters (not the full group). Thus interactions like Trajectory Simulator were missed. Not sure how G4H was playtested, but I know there was a lot of squawking about how much better Harpoons were than every other missile well before it's release- yet they still went live as-is. Even if they are playtesting, they're not listening to the feedback.

Making a game and keeping it going and interesting is very difficult. Keeping it balanced is even harder. Throw in release deadlines and production schedules and you have the perfect situation for a Charlie Foxtrot. I'm not even touching on the Disney requirements.

I'm OK with them making mistakes, but I'm not ok with it taking 6 months to a year to fix them- or aiming nerfs at combo cards rather than OP chassis. It's they're approach to FAQs that are ruining this game. Also, they effectively cut off the playtesters after the reddit leak, so I don't think they're getting good feedback from there. They're in a bubble.

I'm also really dissapointed with the Dev's in that they keep designing chassis that have EVERYTHING. Ks, Scurrg, JM5K- ships with huge upgrade bars, great dials, great stats, too much HP to be alpha'd effectively are ALWAYS going to be the heart of OP combos as new upgrade cards hit the game. Nym is prime offender #1, he just has EVERY advantage in the game. Same with Miranda. These ships are just too versatile, too good, too combo-tastic to exist in this game.
Nym/Scurrg should NEVER have had an EPT, period. Devs, you messed up on that, BAD. Nym should have been PS7. Period.
Miranda's pilot ability should only apply to her primary, and honestly, the K should never have had both a PWT and a turret slot (one or the other). Probably shouldn't have a crew slot either. OR Sabine should have been nerfed a YEAR AGO (in the palp nerf). The fact that this card has been unchecked through all of 2017 and into 2018 is just ridiculous.

The Dev Team is the biggest problem with this game. I don't hold players who play these OP lists, but I DO blame the dev team for A.) Developing cards that are easily abusable. B.) Developing Ship Chassis that are too versatile/OP/Undercosted and C.) Not releasing FAQs more quickly. They should be releasing monthly FAQs to clean up wording/nerfing super OP stuff. FFG is the biggest downside for X-Wing, the dev team is always behind the 8-ball, behind schedule, and completely unprepared to react to super OP stuff hitting the meta. They honestly need a full time person JUST for balance/FAQs (I suggest @MajorJuggler).
Honestly, I want Brooks and Davy OUT and new, more enthusiastic devs on board.

These two ships are really poorly designed. Of course ships that have all advantages and no downsides are going to abuse the 'combo-of-the-month'! It's the versatile/undercosted/heavily upgradable nature of these ships that make them monsters, not unlike the original JM5K. Nym and Miranda are particularly bad because they ALSO have really powerful pilot abilities as icing on the cake.
Chassis should never have ALL of the following:
Good Dial
Huge upgrade bar (especially if it has prime upgrades like EPT, Crew, or Systems)
Amazing Stats (HP, 3+ Attack)
Amazing high PS pilot abilities.
If the ship has the upgrades to field missile/torp alpha strikes, DO NOT GIVE THEM ATTACK 3- this just leads to Guidance Chip abuse.
If the ship has a turret slot DO NOT GIVE THEM A PWT. ALSO, DO NOT GIVE THEM ATTACK 3- there should be some counter play to TLTs- and TLT carriers SHOULD be vulnerable at R1.
Be Small Base (point fortressing on ships like Miranda is absolute cancer).

Honestly, this seems like Game Design 101BUT STOP MAKING SHIPS THAT HAVE 100% ADVANTAGES AND NO DISADVANTAGES. I'm eff*ing sick of these 'super-ships' that just constantly warp the meta because they are just better than every other ship at everything. No more JM5Ks, No more Scurrgs, no more Mirandas (sorry other K's). JUST STOP.

Yes, but I don't think that just them winning the regional was the problem. 7/8 of the top squads were Nymranda, and ALL of the Top 4 were. None of the lists you mentioned were even close to that, even if they won. But keep on raging at the haters man, everything is fine.

I wonder why none of those counters made the Top 16 at Cardiff? Considering the sheer volume of people flying Nymranda, you'd think that people flying those so-called 'counters' would have done pretty well. Or maybe it's not that cut-and-dry?

Ah good ol' Nym, worst designed ship since the JM5K. Gratz Brooks/Davy, your abomination of a ship ruined the competitive season! Not sure why you gave the Scurrg an EPT, but I'm willing to guess it's because you're not very good at your jobs. I'm sure you'll nerf him eventually (in 6 months or so) after the game atmosphere gets too salty to breathe. In the mean time, you'll scare off another 10-20% of the player-base. Boy you two oompa-loompas just cant catch a break, can you?
Between the Auzituck EZ mode gunship and the Scurrg, Wave 11 really jumped the shark, eh? Maybe you should learn from your lessons, or better yet step aside and let better game devs handle X-Wing from now on.

I think a worse dial might do the trick- give it a Lambda dial and I think it would actually be pretty balanced.
