  1. TLT's don't need to be gone but they do need to be brought into line with other turrets. Best case: Make them Range 1-2. Other option: Drop their Attack to 2. Another: Only get the second Attack if the first hits.
  2. Nope. The devs are completely asleep at the wheel. Mostly because they spend an absolute minimum of hours on X-Wing. They're being pulled in too many directions with other games. So bascially for X-Wing they just throw a bunch of poorly tested, rushed products out and hope that things work out. If they don't they'll do emergency nerfs, but they often miss the mark, nerfing upgrades instead of OP chassis. I'm actually starting to feel bad for the devs. They are obviously not supported fully by management and are having to try and shoestring X-Wing along without proper support and playtesting.
  3. Honestly I think the Kylocepter needed 4 attack to stay relevant (which is crazy). We've hit such a hyper-damage point in x-wing that a 3 attack 40+ point ship just cant dish out enough hurt in 75 minutes to win. The insane amount of damage reduction (reinforce, regen, and just huge HP pools/tankiness) has gotten WAY out of control. You need to consistently be throwing 12-16 dice out in the first couple of turns to deal with things like Kanan/Fenn or Wookies or 4-ship or Nymranda. There's just too many tanky rebels to chew through. If fragile ships ever make a comeback (which they won't, because lolSabine bombs) Kylo would be a beast.
  4. I have my moments. ^My Spirit Animal
  5. Miranda Pilot Ability: Primary Weapon only. Scurrg: Remove EPT from all ships. TLT: Range 1-2. Harpoon: Spend the TL. Sheathipede: Can't be in a list if the Attack shuttle is also in the list. I can dream...
  6. You are so forgiven. I too only eat food when I'm playing X-Wing competitively. Not like you would have been paying for food otherwise.
  7. I never said "buys everything of a faction". Using myself as an example, I buy Imperial ships I think are good or fit into squads I want to play. Everything else I source out (like singles on Ebay, I have 3 Twin Ion MkII engines, but no Punishers). But no need to argue any further, I understand your position: you have no empathy for people who don't have the material resources you do to play this game. Enough said. /thread
  8. Only on the most powerful TLT ships being in the donut hole means nothing. Miranda will just PWT you for 4 dice in the face, and Nym will just bomb you into the next century (or 4 dice primary you if you're in arc), same with the Ghost (5 Dice primary forward and back). Yeah the donut matters on Y-Wings, but who cares, that's not who is abusing TLTs.
  9. I think the issue is that they're so much more consistent than a PWT because they don't care about range. Not only is 2-3 a huge physical area of the board to cover, but also denying that range 3 bonus agility dice is HUGE. Honestly, I think if they were Range 1-2 they would be perfect.
  10. Money. Isn't. An. Arbitrary. Reason. Period. There are *plenty* of people who only play one faction because they can't afford to get every ship from all 3 factions. Everyone has friends/knows people who got into the game because someone bought 2 cores and proclaimed "Hey, why don't I take the Rebels and you take the Imperials- that way we both have dice/templates/rules, but we can play bigger games!" Player A goes on to buy nothing but Rebels, Player B nothing but Imperials. This is, in fact how I got into the game- and I purchase (on ebay) or trade for upgrades that only come from other factions' ships- all in an effort to save money. Now as to your example: The clear answer to your query: which Tournament is better? THE FIRST ONE. Why? Because 100% of the players at that tournament, even the ones who couldn't afford all 3 factions worth of ships had a shot of making the cut. Sure, the meta may favor one style of ship (in your case large base ships), but the single faction players still all felt like they had a shot. In the second scenario, every non-rebel single faction player left that Tournament seething, and that's bad for the game.
  11. I honestly haven't seen a TLT shot miss this year. Small sample size, but it is virtually unheard of to miss with a TLT completely. It might as well just read "Lets save everyone some time, and not bump any ships with dice. Assign 2 damage to anyone within range 2-3".
  12. I too would like an explanation of this. I don't understand the fundamental principal. Doesn't proper faction balance help sell ships from not just one, but all 3 factions? Honestly, I'm asking, because my FLGS has a TON of old, completely crap-tastic imperial ships (seriously there's 8 Punishers on the shelf)- that no one wants. If the Punisher received a big buff, relative to it's counterparts in other factions, wouldn't more of them sell? Wouldn't we see more varied lists? Wouldn't the competitive meta be more varied, bringing more players to events if everyone, regardless if they are a one-faction player or a multi-faction player thought they had a chance to compete?
  13. I think we should just universally give all rebels the ability to completely refresh their shields, every turn, for free. Also, lets just give every ship a free Reinforce token every round. That should make them viable in competitive. Also, lets nerf Harpoons so that Rebels just can't be damaged, ever.
  14. PS10 Sabine Bomblet got him. He didn't even get to roll any dice to defend.
  15. And then, once explained, I'd be like: ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME? TWO, THREE DICE ATTACKS AT RANGE 2-3, WT ACTUAL F.???!!! AND THAT SHIP CAN DO IT TWICE A ROUND FOR 12 TOTAL DICE THROWN FOR 4 NEARLY GUARANTEED DAMAGE, OMG WTFBBQ. /WOOKIERAGE
  16. This is how ridiculous this game has gotten. We casually accept that taking 4 TLT shots from a single ship per round is normal. If you'd have told me this in Wave 3 I'd have told you that you're crazy.
  17. Harpoons are the chemotherapy this cancer-fest of a game needs!
  18. I dunno, don't Scum already have Illicits and Salvaged Astros? Rebels have Astromechs. Rebels and Scum have regen. I don't think it's unreasonable for Empire to have something that the others don't. We're not saying it needs to be uber powerful, but I'm sure a balanced set of Doctrines could be introduced.
  19. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahaHAHHAHAHAHAHahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAhhhahahahahahaaaaaaahhahahahahahahahhhhhhhhHHh..... <DEEP BREATH> ahahahahaHAHhahAHhaHAHahahaHaHahaHAHaHaHahahahahahahaahhaHAHaHAhaHahaahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahhahahahahahahhHHHhHHAHAHAHaHAHAHAHahahAhahAhHHAAHHAHaHSAHHSHHHAhHAHaHAHaHaHAHahAhahahaHAHAHAHaHAHAhahhHHHHHHHHHHHH No.
  20. While an awesome idea, the Devs of this game can't even handle 3-faction balancing. 4 would absolutely be impossible, considering that they put like a max of 2 hours of work per week into this game and the rest into Destiny and Legion.
  21. I'd like to see something like "Doctrines" that allow you to place a card on your side of the table and have them affect all of your ships. The guys who did the Supremacy X-Wing mod did something similar (Faction Ethos), but I really like it as an 'Imperial Only' thing. It would really help Imps out considering how many fewer faction specific cards they have, and would be fluffy considering Imps training and adherence to doctrine. Plus we could buff a few ships that never see play (*cough* swarms *cough*). Here's a couple of ideas: Space Superiority Doctrine (X Points): Your small base, unique ships with Pilot Skill > 7 gain the Boost action. Ships that already have the boost action on their bars may now perform a free boost action before they reveal their maneuver dials. Swarm Doctrine (X Points): Whenever one of your generic, small base ships with total points cost < 20 is destroyed by an enemy attack, ALL other generic ships within R1 may take an immediate primary weapon attack upon the attacker if they are not stressed and the attacker is in arc at R1-2. Escort Doctrine (X Points): All small based, friendly ships can now obstruct enemy attacks. Attacks obstructed in this way give a +2 Agility benefit instead of the usual +1. These are just spitball ideas, not meant to be to be taken at face value (I have no idea if these would be balanced). This is just to illustrate what such a Doctrine card would look like.
  22. Look I don't entirely disagree with you, I don't like Alpha metas either. But if you nerf Harpoons before you address the other things I mentioned, Rebels win everything, always, forever, until some ungodly FAQ nerfs them. You don't want the meta to turn into SuperTank/Regen Rebels only, which I guarantee it will. Rebels are already dominating competitive, and the only thing a Harpoon nerf will do is ensure that no Imperial or Scum lists ever make a cut ever again.
