  1. Does anyone know why the Mandal Motors ships are named after creatures of Tatooine? Makes very little sense to me. it is like a french shipyard company naming its ships after Chinese fauna... That perplexes me.
  2. I will be using the Nameless Mynock as a NPC ship in honor of this thread, though.
  3. Not about the new movies, bit it is one of the MANY changes in the old movies that make them worse than they were originally. I would love to have an original non edited version of the movies depicting how they hit the theaters back in the 70s and 80s. Han shooting first, no nonsense in the hangar bay, and stuff like that. Not making assumptions on what people is pissed about and not is also a good thing. It is better not to project. Cheers Xavi
  4. The Saruman. I vetoed LOTR references, so there.
  5. Because we cannot do that without being force sensitive, yeah...
  6. Quite a bunch of unnecessary revisionism there
  7. I would suggest he reads the dungeon world GM guide. It talks about more collaborative approaches to GM
  8. If you prefer the more experienced approach, in the building a solo explorer thread they pointed me to the Knight level character. Basically +50xp and +9000 credits to buy stuff. You could.go with that. Cheers Xavi
  9. For what you say, I agree with others that you might need to use another game system. There are plenty around. The important thing about RPGs is to have fun roleplaying. If the system gets in the way of the fun, ditch it. Always. I have a similar problem in my group. We played the starter modules, but it did not get into motion. real life got in the way as well, but it is more that people are not THAT interested in this system for what I am seeing in some conversations with them. I will play around with one of them to see if we can go forward with the system, but ditching it and using the supplements as reference material while using another rules system is certainly an option. A system where you manoeuvrer to avoid getting hit (as opposed to recover damage fast afterwards) sounds what you are looking for.
  10. Regarding the Ghost - Falcon thing, well, it depends what you want your ship for. My impression is that the Ghost has no cargo capacity whatsoever, but its cabins are spacious. it also requires more crew than the Falcon. For smuggling things I would take the Falcon. Less conspicuous than the ghost. For plain combat, I dunno, both have merits and drawbacks, but the Ghost seems more durable and less manoeuverable.
  11. Apparently the guy with the white beard is supposed to be Rex. Someone said (in the forum) that the "SW lore dudes" confirmed it.
  12. So they were playing something inspired by EotE but not quite EotE?
  13. I wouldn't go so far. I would also refuse to get a character back if I already assumed he/she was dead. Nothing to do with confidence in the GM. We all make mistakes. And as said, a good session zero is important, but apart from that I think you are good to go. A pair of players can work very well for a fringer storyline. Han and Chewie are just that, after all. Ask the players the kind of stories they want to play. Tramp freighters, bounty hunters, exploration, political intrigues in the Imperial senate, jedi self discovery, a rebel cell working to get ino, or to blow things up.... whatever. And then build the matching characters for that. And off you go
  14. Nope. I have never been into computer games. Nice to know
  15. What race is that? Avatar crossbreds with doggies?
  16. The thing is that in this game you suffer wounds. It is how the game is designed. As such, having stimpacks (something you also do not see in the original movies, yup) is the way to overcome you suffering wounds. If you want to go for a pure cinematic feel, avoid hitting characters in their Wounds. In fact, you should remove the wounds altogether. They either suffer critical hits (and that drops them to "slugg state", where they are at the mercy of the hitter), or do not suffer hits at all, only strain *if* they are doing things themselves. It can work. it will not be rules as written but it can certaibnly work. the current suystem is built with the assumptin that you suffer "small hits" (near misses, scratches, concussion,...) and you use stimpacks to be back to health. if you remove stimpacks you should change the first part as well. The only case where this is not the case is when Kylo ren is hit and does not drop. And that can be a Talent for sure.
  17. If you want SW: Pathfinder you arelady have it in Starfinder. Glass cannon is a general term, yup. You hit hard, but cannot receive damage back because you also crumble. Your resistance is not that good.
  18. I find hutts being so resistant and good combatants to be counter everything my troupe would believe. A lot of wounds? Yes. A lot of hand to hand skill just because they are big? "Are you crazy?! it is a glorified slug!" I can see them yelling at me in my mind. it is not a good proposition since it is the kind of things that can shatter their confidence in the system. :/ Still, my players are unlikely to take on a hutt head on ever, so that is not THAT big of a problem.
  19. Look at Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. Tim's (the magician) staff has an inbuilt rocket launcher and flammer.
