Use the Vanguard Spec for initiative and Defense.
I recall there is an attachment to transform a blaster into a sort of shotgun. I think is the Beam Splitter

I think you mean the spread barrel, from the core rule books

Combining a blaster rifle with a spread barrel from the EotE core rulebook provides a surprisingly effective combination, as you've still got good range and can boost up the Blast quality a decent amount.  Good add-ons are the forearm grip for Accurate and Point Blank, Weapon Sling for Quick-Draw, or Superior Weapon Customization for the extra damage and a free advantage (helpful for triggering that Blast quality).  Those together provide you a very potent shotgun-type weapon  Augmented Spin Barrel is also pretty good, but you'll only have enough hard points for that and the spread barrel.  It can get expensive, but in the end you've got a pretty worthwhile combat weapon that's good for single targets and taking out minion groups in a hurry.  Had a Mando Soldier/Commando in one game I was in that was brutally effective with his combat-grade blaster shotgun.
Forged in Battle has the beam splitter, which gives you Blast equal to half the weapon's base damage (rounded down) but lets you add ranks of Disorient.  It's also cheaper than the spread barrel, but takes an additional hard point.

There was a post Yavin space battle in a Age Game with one of the PCs playing a commodore in a hammerhead while the other PCs boarded the nemesis's Nebulon-B. The boarding team shut down the shields so the commodore rammed his vessel to exploit the ramming rules. I made him role a attack and with the three yellow, one blue, one red, and two purple he rolled, he got 3 triumphs, 5 threat, and a success. He split the Nebulon-B in half... while the PCs were traveling through the connector that he split. (threats and a darkside point). Needless to say they won the battle and the space suits came in handy

A slicer stole COMPNOR officer identity and replaced the data and face with another PC. The Charmer walked through a secured imperial facility while the agent was shot down by Stormtroopers. He didn't have to lie once in that adventure. Just smile

Use the rules for two weapon fighting, but allow for spending advantage for landing a third and fourth hit in the same way it allows for a second.

Pretty much every player ever. RPGs tend to attract players with a wide range of personalities, but in every table I've ever sat at there are always a few that will keep cracking jokes no matter what tone the game is intended to draw out. Most such players will make it in character humor too and they love to play smart-mouthed jackholes.

FFG Pres: Have we fixed the shipping issues? I don't want another load to end up impounded in Jakarta.
FFG Employee: Yes sir! All fixed, new company looks great, even inspected the ship myself.
Pres: Oh? How's it look? Is it going to be any faster than the previous?
Employee: Oh yes sir, looks great, and you can just smell that diesel everywhere. The crew says she's the hottest running ship in the Pacific. Blazing fast!
    Pres: Perfect.

At this point I visualize the boat in question as one of those foot paddle boats used on swan ponds in city parks, with a crew of underage child laborers
bravely foot paddling their boat across the pacific with the promise of a small bag of M&M's on the other side.

I'm thinking more the OOCL Hong Kong. Nearly 400m long, can carry over 21,400 containers, and has an average cruising speed under 17mph.
It's perfect for hauling Star Wars stuff. Ridiculously oversized, vague encumbrance listing, and you'll be waiting on it for months.

I dont give them any XP until they have finished a "mission" where I give them 15-40 XP depending on the mission (15 for a milk run, 40 for hijacking that gladiator class star destroyer and sending it hurtling toward that massive Tie fighter industrial complex) with a free talent or rank increase as well.
