Idea for new OT Wave (Squads, MC40 and Dreadnought)
>kkj replied to >kkj's topic in Star Wars: Armada
The same could be said about the Mc30, the AF2, Raider, Gladiator and the whole last wave lol. Its not a very convincing arguement, since all those ships sold just fine. Btw, my ship suggestions were not an arguement against the current Clone Wars focus. I like the Clone Wars more than the OT, heck me and @M0N0LITH designed a whole clone wars set as CoruscantConstructions. This was just an idea what any further content for the OT might look like and what i personally would like to see. -
Triangular has inside info on all the new cards, i have seen them all too.

V-19: Calm down, Roboman. You gonna burst into flames with all that hatred! Obi-Wan: Hello there. Grievous: General Kenobi!
-
*Grievous. Guess you'll have to switch out that headjoke for a hello there one š
-
Yes. And guess what, argueing here isn't the only thing that im doing in my life. You know what does even less good than discussing what can be done? Defending the bad things that are in place. Because those people probably dont have any interest in doing something about it IRL too.
-
Why wouldnt it?

Grievous litearlly functions exactly as Vader does just only when the target does not have any readied defense tokens. People easily understood Vaders effect back 5 years ago, this is really not that complicated. The effect is worded very clearly.

Title: Aggressor While resolving the Salvo-effect, you may add one black die to the attack pool. Commander: ā¢Admiral Pellaeon ? FYI, i noticed while researching those ships that FFG has brought all of the formerly Legends ships back into the canon through one of their RPG books. Even the MC40 and Alpha-class Starwing are now canon, which means its much more likely we will actually see them in the future. Pretty cool. Between the Mando and this is nice to see Disney embrace more of the legends ships and lore, at least the parts that donāt interfere with the new canon. Throwing 40 years of established lore in the trash bin was the worst decision they made. (Especially if you look at what they decided to replace it with...dark empire-esque reborn clone emperor *shudders*) Anyway, what do you think of my designs?

Realization of the problem is at least a first step towards change. Yeah its not doing anything on its own but its required for actual actions. I find your allegory that ignorance of a problem's reasons and trying to learn more about the details of a problem so you can base your future actions upon that would be morally equal rather off.

Yes please everyone give us your "thoughts and prayers", dont talk about the underlying issues that constantly create the need for that and then lets all forget about it and move on and do the same thing over and over again everytime it miraculously keeps happening again. *sarcasm off* Im sorry but i don't buy anyone's "sympathy" anymore, if all they wanna do is say that they "feel so bad about this" and nothing else. Thats not caring. Thats wanting to meet a certain social expectation for your own benefit. It's so that we can calmly say to ourselfes "I did all i have to do". It's also a mechanism of distancing yourself from the realization that we all might actually have a certain responsibility for what happens in our society. Sympathy is fine and all but unless you dont actually wanna do anything to change things you can as well just not say anything at all. It's like seeing someone that is getting beaten up on the sideway and you say "oh look thats so bad" and then just walk away. Can we at least talk about WHY people are getting beaten up, even if we may not currently be in a postion to stop it from happening? Also, the initial post of this thread was already political. How people make a living through their work has always been a political issue. And by the way, we can discuss whatever topic we like to on this forum as long as it stays fairly civil. If you dont wanna talk about this specific issue, dont do it then.
-
Thats a good point and really highlights the partisan blinders many of us (not adressing anyone specific with this) often wear.
-
Keep in mind that the second picture is not a photo, but a computer render.
-
I do agree with that for sure, especially for the US.
-
No we did not. But i can somewhat understand someones (unjustified) assumption that you would do support those. Not because of you specifically, but rather because its very hard for people to imagine a middleground between 2 pretty radical ideologies, especially when they are part of one. The fear of the old "slippery slope"-arguement is huge, unfortunately, and people always assume the worst they can imagine. (And keep in mind that when i say"radical", it's not a valuation or devaluation, since "radical" linguistically comes from latin radix = root, aka a complete change that begins at the root of things.)
-
^This so much. I think this needs to be pointed out extra clearly each time when discussing socialism, since many people (maybe rightfully so) dont take this as granted with socialism at all.
-
Regardless of the arguements position, i always appreciate the posting of credible sources. I knew about the "The Great Leap" atrocities before but the other ones not so much. So thank you for those links. This helps a discussion much more than unfounded, emotion driven knee-jerk reactions like we've seen before.

Where exactly is the difference?

Republic ship article #2: Ready For Battle.
>kkj replied to phoenix7000's topic in Star Wars: Armada
There is this fan-theory, that that's the reason why the GARs Turbolasers and Blasters are blue. They could be some sort of ion-enhanced Turbolasers. (But not the starfighters cannons, because out-of-universe they were chosen to be green to foreshadow the Tie Fighters) -
What do you mean with this? Of course Germanys Healthcare system is socialized. I'm German. Unless you are a freelancer, you pay a certain percentage of your loan as tax for the General Healthcare Insurance. You pay 50 % of it, your employer pays the other 50 %. That's how it works. You pay a flat percentage rate and get covered all serious health issues, no matter how much it costs. (You also have the option not to pay that tax and insure youself privately, but that will for sure be more expensive. Regarding Freelancers, they are excluded from the General Healthcare Insurance since they dont have an employer, but they have the option to be included in the General Healthcare Insurance if they were in it before, meaning they were employed) If thats not "socialized" then i dont even know what the word is supposed to mean in this context. Our General Healthcare Insurance is literally classified as a "Solidarity Community". In case you dont know what solidarity means, it means you help others regardless of whether you are getting more out of it then them or not. And yes, we do have private insurances, too. You can always switch to one of those, if you like. They are more expensive, but cover more stuff. The General Healthcare Insurance has to cover all serious health-related issues though. 87 % of german citizens are insured through the General Healthcare Insurance and not privately. And no, there are not extremely long waiting times or any of that BS a lot of the american right likes to make up about our system. Also, if you live in Germany, you are required by law to have an healthcare insurance. Doesnt matter if its the general one or a private one of your choosing.

Isnt the current (and first) vaccine developed as a collaboration between Bion Tech (a german company) and Pfizer? Btw, Germany was also the first Country to develop a Corona test. It was the same guy who also developed the first test for the 2003 Sars-Virus.

I took a "Gender & Care-Work" course back in university this year that talked exactly about that issue. Basically, woman are nowadays doing double duty, full-time working and still doing the housework and kids-raising for the biggest part. Woman have moved closer to a middle ground between traditional gender-roles while men have stayed more or less exactly where they were before. There is some slow progression but its far from the majority. It is well researched. This problem really showed especially during the current Corona pandemic, where - yet again - its mostly woman who stay at home, do homeoffice and at the same time work fulltime as parents and householders. Also regarding the devaluation of "non-paid work", there is ton of feminist literature about it. I think there is a strong case to be made for all work that is vital for society to funtion to be paid. That also includes raising kids, doing the household, cooking, emotional and social support, etc.

Republic ship article #2: Ready For Battle.
>kkj replied to phoenix7000's topic in Star Wars: Armada
So the Consular has Turbolasers and Ordnance, too. I like it but i'm really curious which republic ship is gonna have the ion cannon slot. The Venator just has Turbolasers and Torpedos, too. Arquitens has Turbos and Missiles. And even the Stealth Ship has just Torps and i think a few Lasers. We ran into this ion problem when designing ships for our Clone Wars Set, too. We then decided to give it to the Pelta, since it has the least well defined armament of all Republic ships. I wonder how they will handle it. Will the Republic even have Ion Cannons? Maybe Rep will only have Turbos and Ordnance, while Cis while have Ions on the Munificent and Providence but have Ordance only on the Providence. -
This is utter nonsense. Noone here ever proposed something like that. This is just the typical knee-jerk reaction when someone criticizes inequality. All this thread long we have been argueing about creating equal starting positions, that means compensation for people that are in a worse position in life than others because of factors they cannot control. Like who your ancestors were and what they did or didn't do. Where you have been born. Which genetical dispositions you have. This is where that whole "its fine to inherit wealth because somebody back in the past worked for it"-arguement falls on its head. Because with that kind of logic its totally fine to blame poor people that they are poor because their ancestors "just didn't work hard enough". Wow what a bad, evil choice to been born into the wrong environment. I don't think you actually have any abstract concept of justice or fairness. The only concept of justice you seem to know is "kill or be killed". You dont even want to know how inefficient and unlikely that concept is in getting yourself what you need in life. Fine then. But that concept only works until you too get ****** by the injustice that exist in the world and maybe then you will have some sympathy with those that had no fault in their own misery. With that being said i will now follow @Ling27s advice and back out of the conversation with you, since it seems to be pretty pointless.

Which makes total sense, since the Vic is 900 m in canon and the Acc 752 m
