AdmiralOldOwlz reacted to Captain Corvid in My 1st Separatist Fleet: Kraken Double Munificents
Now that the Hardcells have been revealed, I was able to complete my 1st Separatist Fleet:
Kraken Double Munificents
Faction: Separatist Alliance
Commander: Kraken
Points: 399/400
Assault Objective: Targeting Beacons
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Minefields
[ flagship ] Munificent-class Star Frigate (73 points)
- Kraken ( 30 points)
- Sa Nalaor ( 5 points)
- Wat Tambor ( 5 points)
- Battle Droid Reserves ( 4 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Heavy Ion Emplacements ( 9 points)
= 133 total ship cost
Munificent-class Comms Frigate (70 points)
- Tide of Progress XII ( 2 points)
- Rune Haako ( 4 points)
- Battle Droid Reserves ( 4 points)
- Hyperwave Signal Boost ( 3 points)
- Heavy Ion Emplacements ( 9 points)
= 92 total ship cost
Hardcell-class Transport (47 points)
- Beast of Burden ( 6 points)
- T-Series Tactical Droid ( 4 points)
- Auxiliary Shields Team ( 3 points)
- Parts Resupply ( 3 points)
= 63 total ship cost
1 Phlacc-Arphocc Prototypes ( 19 points)
1 Baktoid Prototypes ( 16 points)
1 Haor-Chall Prototypes ( 16 points)
1 Hyena Bomber Squadron ( 11 points)
4 Vulture Droid Squadrons ( 32 points)
1 DBS-404 ( 17 points)
= 111 total squadron cost
---------------------------------------------------------
Ships:
I've noticed that a lot of Sep players have equipped their Munificents with LTT or Swivel-Mount Batteries; many of them have left the Ion Cannon slot empty.
I realized that an Ion Cannon upgrade with a Special Critical Effect is perfect for the Munificents with Kraken because Kraken can change a die to a face with a single icon, i.e. a Crit! Kraken is basically a better Screed because you don't have to remove a die to change another die to a blue crit. That's why I equipped both my Munificents with Heavy Ion Emplacements; with a guaranteed blue crit, they can deplete an Acclamator's front and side shields in a single round! That's far better than rerolling 1 red die.
The fact that the Munificent's only blue dice are on its front arc isn't a problem because HIE (and OP and NK-7) must exhaust, so even if I equipped Quad Battery Turrets in the Turbolaser slot for an extra blue die, I couldn't use HIE during my second attack. The Munificent was made for Ion Cannon exhaustable upgrades, and Kraken was made to deliver a blue crit for the special critical effects.
I decided to make my Star Frigate my flagship and equip it with Sa Naloor, Wat Tambor, Battle Droid Reserves, and ECM to make it hella-tanky.
My Comms Frigate will be my carrier. I'll give Rune Haako 2 Squadron tokens so I can activate 4 squadrons during the ship's activation for 2 rounds, and I can bank Squadron tokens on my other ships and take them. I chose Hyperwave Signal Boost so I can activate 3 squadrons during the Squadron Phase.
My Hardcell is a dedicated support ship. The Beast of Burden ship title will synergize with my flagship's ECM so I can ready Brace for a second use every round. I'll use Parts Supply to pass out Repair tokens in Round 1 and my flagship can take the last 2 tokens to refresh ECM. The Hardcell will reveal Squadron dials to activate 2 squadrons until my squadrons are depleted, then bank tokens to refresh Parts Supply.
Squadrons:
I chose 4 Ace squadrons rather than more generics because my squadron activations are limited and I wanted to use the Aces' special abilities. Since the Separatists don't have any Escort squadrons, I opted for 2 Hyena Bomber Aces to increase their chances of surviving long enough to attack ships. I'm realistic about my squadrons' prospects against a squadron-heavy Republic build: I predict that all of my generics will be wiped out by the end of round 4, but my Aces should survive and inflict enough damage to finish off enemy ships.
Objectives:
For objectives, I didn't want Advanced Gunnery because the Munificents can double-arc; I didn't want Most Wanted because my ships are all more expensive than their Republic counterparts, so even if I was second player and chose an Acclamator and my Hardcell, they're only separated by ~20 points and my Hardcell is more likely to die; I didn't want Opening Salvo because Acclamators already have more powerful front arcs; I didn't want Precision Strike because I didn't have a lot of Bombers. I chose Targeting Beacons because my red dice ships could use rerolls.
Similar to the Assault objectives, I chose Contested Outpost because the other options were worse, and my Sep ships are more expensive than the Republic's ships, so I should be able to control the space station. Also, I want to lure enemy ships toward my Double Munificents using the outpost objective. Admittedly, against Imperial and Rebel opponents, they could have more expensive ships, so it doesn't work as well.
I chose Minefields to try to deny part of the play area to my opponent and funnel their ships toward my Double Munificents.
P.S. I finally caved and pre-ordered a second Separatist Fleet Starter so I can actually run my Double Munificents build. 😁 I received my shipping notification today so I should receive all of my Clone Wars expansions on Friday. I can't wait!

I just checked, and database reads 4 points.
But the card image says 3 still, bc I have no scan yet
Same for Assault Proton Torpedoes and a few other cards.

AdmiralOldOwlz reacted to Mad Cat in Kit fisto....
Don’t take Kit. Don’t take Plo. Take Dengar instead😀
Dengar gives intel and counter (to everyone not just generics and his stacks with existing counter) so gets the effect of both Jedi for fewer points. No adept 2 but swarm gives one re roll.
I like Delta-7s but the Jedi ace versions all seem a little too costly. Plo is ok if you have several escort fighters as the enemy have to shoot them and they get swarm on the counter (1). Another Jedi ace can make them obscured too but it is a paler version of the Biggs ball and more costly.

Hello admired Admirals,
Bureau of Ships and Services 🚀🛂 is glad to announce:
All squadrons and ships of the new factions are new online (only the ship card of the Hardcell-class Battle Refit is missing, but the stats are complete). The known Armada 1.5 changes are online: Evade, Aces, and new Pass rules. The content of the Upgrade Card Collection is now confirmed (cards and tokens). [I did not change the altered cards yet, if not yet officially revealed.] Please take a look, feel free to use links to jump around and find all the mistakes the team* made.
* It's a very small team, so ... join in! 🤗

@Rimsen quick fix to Radiant VII: you can add fleet support, but manually take care not to add ordnance/turbolaser.

• Shara Bey (17)
• Tycho Celchu (16)
= 56 Points
Total Points: 396
Well the name doesn't fit anymore. An earlier version contained cluster bombs, that's why the name. Well this is super fun for me to fly. and has nice long ranged medium/high consistent damage output. It is also good against onager lists because of the evades and nice maneuver patterns paired with broadsides. (PS: I use "she"/"her" nominating the ships)
Game 1:
I played the first game against @RapidReload's brother, who had an onager (Long ignition, vet gunners, Miss Blonde, SA, Cataclysm and maybe a support team/turbolaser), an ISD Kuat (ACM, Reeva, Local Fire Control, ECM, LS) and a Raider (Thrawn, Hondo, Corvus) + 2 Gozantis, No Squads. He elected to be first player, so we played Asteroid Tactics. He clearly had more deployments to play with, so I tried to deploy neutral in the center. He deployed in his left corner (left from my side) with the Raider at the very corner with speed 1, the ISD in the middle with 2/3 and the Cataclysm closest to me with speed 1. I have a picture at the beginning of turn 2/3, you can see how we deployed on that. Admo was Foresight was closer to him, and I wasn't sure, whether he will go after her or after the main force, so I turned it very conservatively away from the middle, along with my player edge. The two other ships wemt straight in to the middle with broadsides to the enemy. Foresight was kinda gone, Havent been able to turn her back to the fight, firing only once, at the life boat at long range. The others tanked a few shots from the Cataclysm at extreme-long range with ease, those evades are simply hilarious. 4 red, 2 removed, well, this wont do significant damage. Meanwhile as the result of hard turning to its starboard, the kuat ended up on an asteroid field. Poor ship got a Compartment Fire ("You cannot ready your defense tokens")(Hi Reeva). My flagship managed a long shot at the Kuat, having about 6 damage if i recall right (maybe it was 7?), and my opponent decided to discard the Intel officered brace because he thought he can recover it later. Lando bombarded she as well. After exchanging some fire, the Assault Frigate blew up the Kuat, but with the salvo she managed to grab the frigate with her. I positioned Admo and the GR-75 so they blocked a gozanti from leaving, so i managed to get the kill on her as well. However in the desperate fight Lando was shot down by the Kuat, so all in all I lost the flagship + Lando, and he lost the Kuat, and a comms net Goz. 4 MoV for me, 6-5. (Fun fact: a lot of us got something similar result, @Rimsen got 11 MoV, and an other guy has 24 points of MoV as well. And according to @RapidReload's report, i'm sure we weren't the only ones.)
Game 2:
ISD2 (gunnery team, LTT, Jerry, LS, ECM, Avenger and some kind of officer, maybe SA), Onager TB (Miss Blonde, Long ignition, Vet gunners(im not sure), Palp (officer version), Cataclysm), gladi (Demolisher, APT, and OE if I recall it right), and a comms net goz ofc. I elected to be first player, and we played his Fleet Ambush. This negated his deployment disadvantage, and I placed the 2 Scout Frigates in the ambush zone, in a somewhat aggressive fashion. The admo with its stern to the enemy, and the Foresight horizontally. He deployed on his right but not too far. ISD in the middle of the field, behind Admo, Cataclysm somewhat in the corner but not too far, and Demo in the corner. They were at the middle roughly, and only Cataclysm was able to shoot at round 1. Foresight easily mitigated the damage (THREE dice cancelled with an evade?! and the left over hit got reduced to 0 with expert shield techs. Felt sooo good )He had Jerry so we started a bit of a dance. The onager had some shots, but nothing meaningful, it's easy to avoid it's front with these ships. The ISD and the AF dancing, only the AF got good angle, but only later. Demo jumped on Foresight, but only shooting from her bow at the stern. No APTs fortunately, only a few damage to the shields. Next turn Foresight unloaded its payload on her nemesis, TRC the one red die to a double. Lot of damage was the result. Then scoot away with 4, never looking back. The AF had a nice long shot on Demo as well, leaving her at no shields, only a few damage from death. Lando and maybe one of the A-wings had a shot at the wounded destroyer, but she survived. Next turn I made a big mistake. The AF had some shields left, but not much, and was outside of the ISD. I didnt wanted to waste her onlu shot at a more-dead-than-healthy Demo, and activated another ship instead, armored with the knowledge my opponent cant kill, nor meaningfully damage the assault frigate. But I forgot one thing. Her name is Demolisher. (Learn from my mistake mates, always keep an eye on that cheeky little bastard, or she will ruin your day) She came in, unleashed **** upon the poor space whale. It survived, but no chance to survive one more shot. So I activated her. Well I can't recall everything, but a turn before this one, I had a shot on the ISD at medium range with a CF. 11 damage, intelling the brace. Of course my opponent discarded it. And this turn, after the demo shot, I got lucky again. 11 damage. this time no brace was available. The big boy survived the attack with 2-3 hull left. The assault frigate went down next, Foresight and Admo was far to finish the ISD, my opponent maneuvered well. His Demo ended up at the side of Admonition. who successfully killed the beast, but she already did her job. The ISD had a few repairs, and lando wasn't able to finish her. The GR-75 died earlier, so the A-wings had no chance to kill the beast. I lost Lando, and the AF. My opponent lost the Demo. it was 83 MoV for him. 7-4 in his favor. (My opponent (Chris) nicknamed my list "Andras Sandwich" because the long ranged threats was really hard to avoid. He was a very nice dude to play with)
Game 3:
Well. It was a Sloane phantom list, with an interdictor (grav shift, G8, Engineering team, Proxy mines, title, gherant, and other stuff as well), a VSD-I (flight controllers, Sloane, Flight commander, expanded hangar bay, maybe harrow with fighter coordination team, not sure on turbolasers/ordnance) and a goz. Plus 3 phantoms, Whisper, Marek, Jendon, Rhymer, Zertik. And a Titus somewhere. He had the same bid as me. We rolled a six sided die, he rolled 2, and I 1. He elected to be second player. I wasn't happy, I included asteriod tactics and infested fields against squadrons. But whatever. I chose mine fields, greatly underestimating its power with a grav shift dictor. He locked down the center. I thought I will be smart and deploy right here, assuming i can jump the mines. Spolier, I was wrong. After deployment (which you can see on one of the pictures) I realized that its not whether I win or not. It's how much points I can save. The transport cleared 2 mines, but costed her life. Before her death, he passed a nav to Foresight (which was slowed down by Titus), so she can maybe manage to sneak away. The AF triggered 2 mines as well. Admo evaded them successfully. On turn 2 Lando got vaporized. Shara and Tycho got locked down. Tycho got focused next, then my opponent completely ignored Shara, only engaging her with Zertik. I tried to achive something, so flew the AF right into the fight, hoping I can kill the Dictor. The Interdictor however, only got engineering commands, camped the station, and my cruisers were too far away because of the mine dodging. AF died soon enough, Admo followed her a turn later. Shara died in the end as well. Foresight was on course to fly off the map. Fortunately I had one trick in my sleeves. She was like 3-5 mm-s from the border, with her face toward it. No way she can survive. Except a speed 0 maneuver, and so I did, hoping she is outside of the fighters range. She was luckily, but it didnt matter. 304-0. 10-1. I failed to realize the trap, so I payed the cost with lives of my crew. My opponent was a super nice guy by the way, and though the game was a little bit one sided, I wasn't angry or disappointed or whatever after the first couple of minutes.
Overall I got 14th, but it was a cool day regardless. Really hope that we can get to Vienna in the near future, you guys were AWESOME.

AdmiralOldOwlz reacted to Mad Cat in Stockton Prime Battle Report
On 9 February I attended the Beanie Games Armada Prime event in Stockton-on-Tees. A great venue with friendly atmosphere for 18 Armada players.
I noticed as players were getting their fleets together that anyone with a Scottish accent mysteriously was piloting an SSD. There were five SSD lists from team Scotland with a variety of SSD-AP and SSD-CP designs with different commanders. Apparently they had had a bit of a discussion before attending. I wasn’t too confident in taking on some SSD lists but as the matchups turned out I wouldn’t have to try. So on to my list….
393/400. Most Wanted, Planetary Ion Cannon, Solar Corona
Cymoon, Jerjerrod, GTs, Intensify Fire, SADviser LTTs.
GSD-I, Demolisher, ACMs, OE, Brunson.
Arquitens CL, Needa, TRCs.
Arquitens CL, Titus, TRCs.
Gozanti, Comms Net, Asphyxa-Vader.
It was originally intended to be a Romodi list with the red die Gozanti and a few mission tweaks to include Purgils but I checked with the organisers and as the Onager hadn’t been out long enough it wasn’t allowed at this event. Starhawk still isn’t out yet in the UK. So I had a backup with Jerjerrod and it turned out he was used many times in my games; sometimes for slight advantages but sometimes for game winning blocks, escapes or Demolisher ACM slams.
Six activations using the SADviser is usually more than the enemy and a 7 point bid I thought would be great to get last/first on the enemy with Demolisher while the other ships kept up decent reliable fire with LTT, IF and TRCs. In most games the Gozanti fuelled the IF for at least three turns but had the option of an emergency nav/repair token to lend out. Needa, Titus and (after turn two) the SADviser can easily be force choked by Asphyx-a-Vader to get rerolls. I even did it to Brunson on occasion.
Below is a battle report of my three games. Enemy lists are from memory and may have a few omissions.
Game 1
Doddonna MC80B, Mon Karren, XX9, Ciatken, SADviser, ETs
Hammerhead-T APT, Garrels Honour, Lando
CR90-B Doddona’s Pride, LS
GR75, BCC, Bright Hope
GR75, Leia, Coms Net
Nym, Gold, Hera, Luke
I was first player doing Hyperspace Assault (Hammerhead, Nym, Hera & Luke in reserve). The whole game took place in a narrow corridor with the base in front of the liberty and a debris to its left and one on the other side that Demolisher would use to advance with Brunson. My Cymoon lined up opposing the Rebel flagship with the Needa-Arquitens close on its right facing the BCC flotilla. Demolisher was close on the ISD’s left, facing the CR90 and BCC flotilla. A littlefurther out to my right were Titus-Arquitens and my Gozanti. In my mind I had thought the Liberty had Gunnery Teams so didn’t want to offer too many targets…
T1: Cymoon Speed 2, others speed 3 and we advance banking navigates and the flotilla gives a CF token to the ISD for Intensify Fire next turn. Rebels are speed 1 with one of the flotillas a little faster. About now I realised I forgot to use Titus.
T2: In jumps the hammerhead in the flank/rear of the Cymoon double arcing it on the port bow and and Needa’s Arquitens on the starboard. Nym, Hera & Luke join it between the Imperial ships. I activate the Cymoon shooting flank & rear into Garrel’s Honour but it still had 2 hull. Cymoon stayed speed 2 to keep out of blue range of Mon Karren and was still in Garrel’s black range but now only from its front arc. The hammerhead activates and its flank arc APT = hit/crit on Needa giving a structural damage. Doing well he goes for it again using the front arc with no crit but shields are dropping drastically, he then rams the Cymoon slowing it down to one with another crit. I couldn’t use the SADviser now so we polish off the Hammerhead and close in on the Liberty. Demolisher slows to speed 2 to not commit too early and prevent the Speed 1 Liberty from accelerating to 3 or even 3+1 with ETs and squeeze out between it and the Cymoon. Demolisher's 2 red and Needa’s TRCs do about 5 shield damage to the Liberty. Rebel ships still move slow with the liberty moving 4 shields and repairing one using repair and a token. Rebel fighters are made rouge by Hera and bomb Needa’s ship stripping all shields and it is now on 1 hull.
T3: Cymoon activates first repairing 2 shields and shooting the Liberty at medium range for 4 damage after brace, then doing 3 damage to the CR90B at long range with GTs. The ISD then uses a nav token and Jerjerrod to turn 2 yaw left and then 1 yaw right to pin the Liberty in place nose-to-nose. Rebels use a flotilla to polish off Needa before he activates with bombers. I use Demolisher to shoot the CR90B with 2 red (IF has been great for this). Then I move into the Liberty flank arc and kill the CR90B with ACMs from Demo’s left broadside. Liberty repairs and savages the Cymoon and flank shoots Demolisher. Titus Arquitens shoots the Liberty forcing it to discard a red brace when I accuracy the green one. Bombers strike the Cymoon and one reaches Demolisher.
T4: Demolisher is looking ragged so activates first double arcing the Liberty but only one ACM crit. It then runs for open space. Liberty doesn’t accuracy the brace when shooting the Cymoon and my flagship had repairs plotted so his bombers switch and kill Demolisher. I kill Mon Karren by the end of the turn and the game ends. 9-2.
Game 2 v @Touston
CR90A, Mon Mothma, TRCs, Jiana’s light
MC30T, ACMs, OE, Admonition, RBDs, H9
MC30T, ACMs, OE, Foresight, RBDs, H9
CR90A, TRCs
GR75, Slicer Tools, QS
Shara, Tycho
I was second player doing Solar Corona. He deployed tightly in the middle with a CR90 each side. I deploy in my left corner, up sun of him, with the obstacles widely spread out. The Gozanti to the rear going wide, an Arquitens on each side of the Cymoon with Demolisher taking the inside path. Titus slows down Foresight to speed 2 who was slightly further away from me.
T1: The Rebels turn sharp to their right towards me and may be attempting to potentially get up sun of me. I delay with SADviser and flotillas then get the jump with 2 ships at the end. We stick together and load up on tokens going speed 2 or 3 to keep from the enemy crossing in front of us without being shot.
T2: With my activation advantage I delay with SADviser, the Gozanti and Titus-Arquitens on the left flank. Then the MC30s approach and we fire some long range and a few medium range shots. Foresight looks more ragged after one ACM from Demolisher but it uses RBDs to get some hull back over the turn break. Admonition has the Cymoon double arced at black range but Demolisher does this to Foresight in return. Which will he activate first?
T3: Admonition goes first savaging the Cymoon with ACM crits. It then can’t get past due to the flotilla in the place it wants to land and rams. Demolisher finished off Foresight with Vader choking Brunson to get the ACM crit. Admonition dies from Titus, the Cymoon and a ram and one CR90 is softened up. The reminder of the turn the TRC90s and fighters hit the Cymoon who also gets a squadron command from the slicer.
T4: We kill a CR90 but sadly the Cymoon runs out of hull.
T5&6: The rebels dive into a corner behind my original deployment position and I can’t catch them. 7-4 and I move to table 2 for the final round.
Game 3
MC75-Armoured, Fire Control Teams, HIEs, ACMs, Damage Control Officer, EWS.
Hammerhead, Sato, Lando
GR75, BCC, Bright Hope
GR75, Comms Net, Bridger
5 Y-Wings, Jan, 2 HWK, Gold, Hurra
I was first player doing the Precision Strike mission. I placed the Gozanti just off centre at the back of the board then I see a GR75 in the middle followed by a huge squadron blob. I deploy in the middle at speed 3 with no idea where I will to have to go. Cymoon is flanked by an Arquitens on each side with Demolisher behind the right hand Needa-Arquitens and the flotilla behind the left hand Titus-Arquitens. Enemy BCC GR75 deploys to the right of the squadron blob (from my point of view) and the MC75 a little further out and finally the lifeboat hammerhead near the corner but not as far out as he could have gone. I use Titus to speed the MC75 up to 3 and hopefully get to it without having to wade through a flock of Y-wings.
T1: We all use Jerjerrod to turn sharply to our right at top speed. Most ships bank repair tokens to get rid of this damage on turn 2 but the flotilla coms nets over a token to fuel Intensify fire. Rebels keep their speeds the same with the MC75 unwilling to slow and preferring to keep a nav token as the Coms net flotilla was too far out for a replacement and he really needed soon to squadron with flotillas and the big ship, even then he would be 3 squadron activations short. All the bombers advance towards me trying to head me off as I go for the two ships that would get me a tabling.
T2: Needa has a good shot lined up on the non EWS flank of the MC75 but decides to wait. I SADviser delay and a GR75 sends in Y-Wings to attack Needa. I still delay with the Gozanti. Gold & Hurra join the attack. Now Needa repairs a hull, I shoot out the back into the GR75 and shoot the MC75 and moves away speed 3 with a Jerjerrod 2 yaw right and a natural 2 yaw left. It is now safely in the front arc of the MC75 at long range with Demolisher acting as baby sitter and the remaining bombers won’t have the speed this turn. His lifeboat delays, I bring up Titus and shoot at the Comms net flotilla forcing the scatter to be discarded. The MC75 activates with nothing in range. It bombs the Cymoon and stays speed 3. Cymoon kills the comms net GR75 and does 6 damage to the MC75 then lines up to double arc it at medium range. Demolisher shoots the big ship and gets around into the front of it to shoot it again. MC75 has lost its redirect by now but the dam-con officer pays dividends with my ACM crits.
T3: Cymoon goes first and kills the MC75 with a little luck on the front shot alone using the LTTs and IF. BCC GR75 scatters its other shot. We get bombed a bit and wait for the Lifeboat to move. Demolisher then lined up on it and uses ACMs. Lando had to be used on the last shot of 3 single hits to stay alive. Sadly for him a blank, a single hit and a hit/crit with ACMs finished the game there with no more squadrons in range to attack that turn. We both had 2 Precision strike tokens getting a 430 to 30, 10-1 win.
Up on table one a triple Interdoctor list had just killed an SSD but one of the interdictors was surrounded by TIE-Bombers. It finally succumbed resulting in a 9-2 meaning I and the Interdictor player were tied on 26 tournament points. The total MOV for the day kicked in and it was incredibly close with my score fractionally above to win the event.

4 for the standard unit, 1 for the strike team. Both likely with the heavy weapon option (sniper or poison saboteur).
