  1. Resurgent and Starhawk first perhaps. The Resistance Bomber would be a flotilla most likely. Mind, a two Epic release kicked off the range for X-Wing. Both the Transport and Corvette were announced at the same time if I remember correctly.
  2. I'd like to see a new core with the updated rules and damage deck. Included is an X-Wing repaint, with fixes, and some fresh pilots to sweeten the deal. Perhaps repainted Ties to match those in the Gozanti box. This is for those who want to get into the game (like me) but who want to get GCW era and not have to get a TFA core just for the cards and rules. I am checking eBay for rules and cards to avoid having to get a TFA core. Movement Templates, tokens and dice are available from a variety of places. But an OT core is still a good idea for pilots, astromechs, upgrades etc.
  3. So if I throw in a jammin' slicin' transport with an Ionising duo. I'm pleased to hear that Ionizing Corvettes is an effective build.
  4. What are people's opinions of all around Ion Cannon Turrets on a CR-90? Perhaps add in some jamming. CR-90 cripples enemy ships for the rest of the fleet to take out. Just one of my build ideas.
  5. Next week cannot come soon enough.
  6. I for one appreciate it. Not sure about what I want to get for X-Wing, but I am thinking of running a two CR-90 list. Not exactly "by the book" where rules are concerned, but I am more of a casual and narrative player than a list building meta junky.
  7. Either that or he'll be enveloped by Force Lightning as he lifts and throws Snoke down a very long shaft. He does this to save a redeemed Ben from a vengeful Supreme Leader.
  8. Thanks, I was thinking of getting that. So far I've only enjoyed Bloodlines so was hesitant to get it.
  9. I didn't like the Resurgent until better pictures turned up. Then when I saw it on screen I liked it. If FFG make it, I'll be very happy to buy and use it. Right now I'm not at all keen on the well endowed flying pizza slice, but I'm hoping it's just the picture and it'll look cooler. Hopefully it won't be climbing a tall building and swiping at X-Wings.
  10. I'm hoping for that too. I enjoy Rebels but I agree there's some things that are - clearly to remind us this is for children. Like I say, I'm not a Sequel hater. I am one of the few who likes the ships. Not sure about the well endowed flying pizza slice yet, but I didn't like the Resurgent until better pictures appeared and I saw it on screen. Over in The Force Awakens Beginner Game RPG I'm talking about running my own Journey to The Force Awakens using the 30th Anniversary Star Wars Roleplaying and creating stats for Sequel vehicles and ships. That's because I do believe there's still potential. I'm really hoping for a "Resistance" series.
  11. "It is time for the galaxy to end." When I watched The Force Awakens it felt as though both sides were crumbling. That this was their final breaths before they become nothing more than a faint memory. The Original Trilogy, Rebels and Rogue One gave us much more life. The Empire and Rebels Alliance we're full of energy. So far, TFA and the leaks and trailer for TLJ just make it seem as though the Star Wars galaxy is dying. An old, wheezing elephant slowly plodding towards the water in the futile hope of survival only to collapse within inches. As the dust settles around it, the elephant groans as it slowly reaches out with it's paining, trembling trunk, only to gasp it's last breath and die as the trunk hits the surface of the water. By the way I kinda liked The Force Awakens, and can't wait to see The Last Jedi. But not as excited as I am to see Season Three of Rebels or the Han Solo movie. Just feels as if Star Wars beyond the Galactic Civil War is dying, whereas I'd hoped the Sequels would bring new life to the franchise.

  13. Why did King Kong have hubbaduh hubbaduh with an AT-AT? Why!? Dreadnought is good though.
  14. I'm thinking of ordering The Force Awakens RPG. I'll have a bit play, but my motive is to have the galaxy map and get a little inspiration. I've pre-ordered the 30th Anniversary Star Wars Roleplaying game, and I hope to use it to create my own Journey to The Force Awakens and beyond. Obviously it is Original Trilogy, but I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to alter many of the vehicles into Resistance and First Order. I'm guessing transforming an ISD into a Resurgent will be the most challenging. Will the Visual Dictionary and Incredible Cross Sections help in creating vehicles and races from The Force Awakens? P.S. If you're wondering why I'm posting here, it is because I am going to be getting this game and might well want to practice my creating skills in this rule set first. It also might help anyone else who wonders if they can use those books to help.
  15. If I might chime in a little: Rebels and Rogue One have plenty to contribute to the game. Then there's the Sequels films. Possibly the Han Solo movie and other spin-offs will bring yet more. I'm a little put off Legion, though I've not really been interested in Imperial Assault. However, I like the fact that the miniatures in IA are assembled. I don't need to buy scenery. It is pricey, but you get a lot for your money so it does even out. Being able to open the box, set up and play without hours of modelling is always a positive with people like me. It's ironic that in all the excitement over Legion, and the comparisons to Imperial Assault, it's made the latter seem more appealing. I have a feeling that Imperial Assault will keep going until all Original Trilogy, Rebels, Rogue One and Sequel Trilogy options have been exhausted. One last expansion? I don't think so.
  16. I'll do what I can, it was before we knew the title of The Last Jedi. Quick look on YouTube just has Last Jedi rumours. So I might have to dig s bit.
  17. Small armies is preferable to me too. Now that I can see the posted image, and the list, I am feeling a lot happier about purchasing this. Two core sets - boom - I've got my platoon. Then I can add around that.
  18. I think I preferred the typo. Sum up Star Wars in one simple sentence: "too many pilots". From a child slave on Tatooine, to a primitive Ewok on Endor, everyone can pilot.
  19. I'm on a mobile and the picture didn't appear first time. That is good. Might sound silly but I was expecting Legion to be played with more units. Was just reading a similar topic on the Armada side of the forums. Star Wars: Platoon is something I, and my wallet, can live with.
  20. Can this be confirmed? That the maximum number of squads is 6? Seems odd. The maximum, in an Epic game of XWing, for one type of ship is 12. This makes sense as that is a full Squadron. From my research a full platoon of Stormtroopers is 4 Squads, and 4 platoons make a company. If this is meant to be a platoon sized game I'd get that, but why have the maximum at 6? I sound like a number nerd don't I, but I am curious as to IF the max is 6 and if so why? Edit: knowing games are intended to be small scale and not massive battles is a good thing. A selling point in my book. I'm not complaining. Just didn't want any misunderstanding as to the reason behind my question.
  21. I've no objection to the ship. Hated the prequels but liked some of the ships. N-1 and Arc especially. It is also Canon for Galactic Civil War thanks to Shattered Empire. But I hope it's not a release like the Arc, with only four named pilots and no generic.
  22. I've only played a couple of practice games but Imperial wins most when: I have a swarm of Tie fighters, just Academy Pilots, with the upgrade (can't remember the name - hey, I'm a newbie) that increases Agility to 4. In the game I give them the evade action and fly the swarm in a scattered formation. Each Tie moves as randomly as possible, even I don't always know what I'm doing, but always keep as many guns pointed at Rebels as possible. Now I do still suffer casualties at times, but always the Rebels are wiped out. High agility evasive scattered swarm with random movement. Enemy is so busy trying to figure out and counter your strategy they fail to recognize the obvious.... ....there is no strategy.
  23. Oh wow! That would be awesome. Will need some energy drinks and a good local takeaway because I suspect such a momentous game of Armada would take an entire weekend with no sleep.
  24. I'm just going to imagine that. Ah, glorious. So 6 or 7 would be good. I'd say I'm fighting approximately 1/4 of the battle. Could even play four games and combine the results. Two games with 7 ISDs, and two with 6 ISDs.
