Question on Forewarning
Luahk replied to Gribble_the_Munchkin's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
Making it a passive is a good idea i'll speak to one of my fellow DMs about. We have it so it effects your character as well and that you can trigger it outside of combat but that it has a narrative time limit. I prefer your passive idea as it makes it more akin to a spidey sense which is just better. Not enough of the seer tree actually makes you prophetic its just you react better. -
Question on Forewarning
Luahk replied to Gribble_the_Munchkin's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
Its one I house ruled to make more effective/sense than the written text. -
This. But it's not as powerful as I'd misunderstood it.
-
I assumed so as well which is why I was so shocked/asked the question in the first place.
-
You're right but if Suppress was as strong as I misunderstood it (infact even as it is intended) I would just make sure to re-roll it every time till i got 2 pips for max result.
-
I double checked after getting my hands on a copy of the book. You cannot activate the strength upgrade multiple times either. Giving you a max of 3 failure.

Darkside Campaign - Character Ideas
Luahk replied to CloudyLemonade92's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
DS ithorian is a cool idea @P-47 Thunderbolt -
Ok that's slightly better but isn't that still...kinda....STRONG The ghoulish man lifted his hand, shaping it into a cruel claw, and unleashed a torrent of energy that ripped apart the stone upon it's way to the Jedi Padawan it's purple forks carrying with it the promise of death and the full power of the darkside. Padawan Laughs in suppress.
-
So If I had strength 3...rolled the same pool then everyone would be at 18 fail on all force checks?
-
Sorry for ease my confusion is this. "The power gains the ongoing effect: Commit O after successfully activating the basic power. This power remains in effect on each affected target as long as the target slays within range of the power. If the target moves beyond the range of the power. the effects end for him but not for any other targets affected by the power The user ay not activate this multiple times." Does that mean that the process is Players rolls suppress power check Gains 6 Pips (No strength upgrades) = 6 failure on enemy checks. Activates Above Duration and thus retains all the benefits from the roll?

Star Wars Me: If I Were A 2000 Earned XP Jedi
Luahk replied to EliasWindrider's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
I love Sentry/Ascetic I think ascetic is silly strong and difficult to ignore. But impossible fall a litterall superhero landing is the besssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst. I was intrigued by your force power selection. I appreciate move is -strong- but I still like other options and I personally would've sacrificed some to go more into those. -
I'm back at suppress again.... Duration upgrade says....I roll suppress then commit a die and maintain effect right?? So at the start of a session could someone roll till they get their max result (Lets say they're force rating 5) and maintain alllll those fails at the cost of one die?

Super force rated character. ALmost entirely forgoing lightsaber combat because he believes the force is all he needed. -

My original Luahk reached High XP but its sort offffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff hard to challenge yourself without going for absurd goals at that point. The Jedi Trees are gamechangers....especially with the recovery of strain as a manouvre based on FR and automatic successes. -

[Version 0.8] The Old Republic
Luahk replied to BluSunrize's topic in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG
I lowered pressence personally because I feel they're more rule by fear (to quote your talent i think) than anything else. So coercion I don't see them as people who charm..keep their cool..negotiate or show leadership they simply demand obedience. I went Will 3 and the others 2. Cool insight to the thought process though. -

The squad make-up was very different than I had anticipated (twice in short order) so I went from doing your thing to doing a fusion of your thing and mine to just doing a different version of what I initially intended force wise. Then *sadly* one of the players was unable to make it who had made the melee character and so I probably should've stuck to what you said. The session was fun and fine though. -

may I inquire as to the thinking behind the Sith Species? I had my own version but this is somewhat different and I'm curious as to why you did it this way. -

I'm going to play in the Sith academy....tomorrow xD I have my lazy force based character I usually use but I felt the urge to do something different. That said I've no idea how long the campaign will last since usually i'm not a player so I wanted something effective from the drop in. I've got 355 to spend (including starting xp) so i'm struggling a little bit. -

@EliasWindrider I cannot use the Jedi trees to start unfortunately. -
Farsight: Mastery...does that mean if i'm viewing something from range I zoom into it? Bind: Duration does this mean that i continue to do the damage per turn? Or would I re-roll each turn?
