can an imperial figure use the same surge ability more that once on the same turn? If the figures card list ~: +1damage and I roll 2 ~ can I spend them both to do a total of 2 damage?

Last night my players and I had a somewhat heated debate over Jyn's "Trick Shot" ability. The card says "you can draw line of sight from any space within three spaces". My question is weather or not she needs to have LOS to that space, that is within 3 spaces? Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
