Just to say, starting to try and get things going on BGG. I started to update the wiki to try and recreate @MidWestScrub's useful links page. Spent about an hour on it last night but when I hit submit I got an 'invalid content' error and my account was locked. Turns out I triggered some spam rule. However, support had helped me get my update back and restored my account within 24 hours. On Christmas Day. Impressed.
  2. Oh, I know - just found it funny, that was all
  3. Looks like the tosche station podcast link is incorrect. I mean, I know they beat you up pretty bad in the Miniclorian, but misdirecting people away from their podcast? Seems a bit harsh

I'm going to give the board game geek forum a go and see how it works out I guess.
  5. Or maybe now's the time to try daredevil and targeting computer? I'm still not sold on this as strictly better than plain old predator, but I should probably at least try it
  6. I like flying this. Proton Rockets came down which frees up another four points. I could just put marksmanship on each Baron and leave it as was, but I can fit Vader instead of Soontir if I'm willing to a) fly him without afterburners, and b) give up most of the bid. Vader worth it in this circumstance?
  7. Hey - it's been a while, but I flew Han / Poe at a small store tournament some time back and really enjoyed it. I think I took Lone Wolf, Rey Gunner, Seasoned Navigator and Engine Upgrade on Han. Definitely BB8, title on Poe - I forget what else (proton torps maybe). I'm a fan of Han with Seasoned Navigator, engine upgrade and passive mods. Gives him a lot of options once he's seen where everything is. At some point Gonk is going to be worth taking as well!
  8. Yeah - but my feeling is she's priced to be a linchpin! In terms of maximizing efficiency, if the tracers hit, I'm getting 8 free target locks. Drea is reducing that by one. That said, having her reroll available for the tracer carriers could be clutch. I guess it would be worth a try! ... I'm going to miss these discussions - guess I'm going to have to get on discord more.
  9. This is fantastic - you really do put together awesome scum lists! Great use of Unkar crew.
  10. Don't get me wrong, Drea's super powerful, but I would have thought it would be better to do Drea or Tracers / Ordnance, not both together. At least, not lock based ordnance because the rerolls are coming from the locks.
  11. Yeah - honestly, I think that's a lot more ambitious, depending on what level of location information you're looking to collect. However, when you check for targets in TTS it already lets you know range, whether you have bullseye and whether the shot is obstructed. Having that dumped somewhere would be a great start and would help with the kind of statistics I was looking for in the original post. @CrazyVulcan_ how much effort would be involved exporting TTS logs somewhere for the purposes of collecting some stats?
  12. Who could we approach to see if this can be changed? Doesn't seem like it would be too much work, just dumping the in-game output somewhere?
  13. With the game being played online via TTS / Vassal, I've been wondering whether the creators have been able to collect and publish in-game statistics, and beyond that, which statistics might be useful? For instance: What percentage of attacks are in bullseye arcs? How does that breakdown by initiative / target ship size? What percentage of attacks are obstructed? What percentage of attacks happen at each range? What percentage of ordnance charges are left unspent at the end of a game? etc. etc. If feels like data along these lines should be fairly easy to collect from online games, and would be super useful for list building. What statistics would you be interested in? And who do we ask to see if we can get them?
  14. Oops - thanks! Not sure, maybe it is just a perception thing. The Reaper is a bit more mobile, the Xi has two agility. I mean, the LAAT does have ten total hit points, so it still takes some chewing through. I guess supporting two Etas the issue is that those ships are built to be hard to hit and to nibble away at an opponents list rather than blow it away. Not all damage races are the same, some are about scoring some points (any points) and not taking damage at all. It feels like Etas are going to be good in that kind of scenario, but a LAAT is not - it kind of undermines the strategy. If the LAAT was supporting two ships that could do 70 points of damage pretty quickly then maybe it's fine?
  15. This was my first thought as well. What about Yoda in the Eta-2? Could co-ordinate them both and possibly be more slippery that the LAAT if the opponent targets them first? 16. Yeah - it inspired me to go and see what else I could build for 40 points with scum if I wanted to fly a five ship list. Didn't come up with much that was super inspiring although I quite liked the idea of Quinn Jast with APT and Afterburners (now a bargain 4 points on I3)
  17. It seems to me that Scum have a lot of options for five ship lists, with plenty of good fill-in ships (e.g. Seevor or Lando), but yeah at 40 points each the Black Sun Ace w/ Predator seems like it would be pretty efficient. The five Red Squadron Vets cost the same. You're basically trading predator against shield over hull, S-Foils and imo a slightly better dial (3-turn would make such a difference to a Kihraxz, especially with afterburners) Not a very scum-like list though, especially with all the tricks you could try and pack into a five-ship list..
  18. With the new tracer missiles available, and lower ordnance points, it feels like there's got to be some very strong ordnance lists out there, waiting to be discovered. My first thought was to just spam Z95s with tracers and ion - thread here. Yesterday I tried two tracer carrying Z95s (also with False Transponder Codes) and four M3-As with proton torps. Low initiative and proton torps is typically a risk as it can be hard to create the opportunities to use them against higher initiative aces (getting arc dodged / initiative killed). I think that's still a risk, but the existence of tracers makes me want to try. The tracers help you get locks for the lower initiative ships, and they tend to be a targeting priority, keeping the proton torp carriers alive a bit longer and increasing the odds of using the torps. I flew the list in two blocks rather than one, to try and create more coverage and unpredictability. I'm not sold on it - too much depends on getting opportunities to shoot the proton torps, and that doesn't feel at all guaranteed. Tracers can miss, arcs can be dodged etc. etc. But it does carry threat. You potentially unload several fully modded four dice attacks into a target in a round. What are you trying?
  19. Did you mean to post this on the 'Squad Lists' sub forum? Might be a better fit on the main forum?
  20. Good thread for reference here (although that's mostly advocating the Torani build you don't like). I honestly don't know that there's a better use for those points than the things you've already tried. Interesting to see Autopilot Drone being flown without a Falcon - I would have thought a lot of lists would just stay out of it's way until it blows up in round 3. How do you leverage it?

    ETA Reactions

I'm a bit worried about this as well, even though it's all head sim for me at this point. I've seen a fair bit of advanced sensors guri and supernatural, regen jedi in my play group, and I think it's going to be a bit like that - highly maneuverable aces that are tough to get shots on at all, and often evade even if you do manage to shoot at them. I'm wondering what the counter play is going to look like. And that's the reason I haven't given up hope on this, I do think there's going to be counter play. It's still only three hull - and for all the dice / modifiers, there's the potential for them to die quickly. So Anakin had better not be behind a prox mine carrying Emon or Sol, and he'd better stay clear of Doug Howe's Thermal Detonator carrying Bombers. It is block-able. Intuitive Controls is interesting, but it's weaker than Advanced Sensor Guri, or SNR Jedi, because the pre-movement happens before you see where blockers are going to be. Sense might be a key counter, paired with a double repositioning blocker (Intimidation Arvel?) But yeah, without the right tools to compete with him, that Anakin build is going to be really tough.
  22. Thanks for posting - might be some good synergy there! I guess you'll need to fly it to see, but my first thought is that you're heavily reliant on getting bullseye arcs for meaningful attacks. If you're not getting bullseye this entire list is three 2-dice attacks (one of which you're looking to deplete!). Granted you have super maneuverable ships to try and get those bullseyes, and the ETA's are going to be very tough to pin down and damage, but I think an opponent is going to try and take out Hound as the soft target in the list and trust that you're going to struggle to match the damage. That's always assuming your opponent doesn't have aces and a deeper bid - in which case you're really going to struggle. All head sim of course! I wonder whether there's a way of either getting two harder hitting ships with Hound? You can get a Delta 7B Ani and still have points for something, but probably needs to be an Eta or a CLT Obi. The other issue of course, is that you've got to stay in Hound's arc to make the patience trick work. That might not be too bad, but there's always a tension between highly mobile aces that you then want to stay in a particular space for an effect. Be fun to try any which way - let us know how you get on!
  23. Can't help thinking the points change has swung too far towards ordnance. If one of the trace carriers can land a shot it sets up a lot of potential double modded shots. Ion is more for an extra dice than anything. False Transponder Codes seems a steal at two points as well for jamming stuff. 24. Ordnance not getting a lot of attention, but it seems to me it's been buffed pretty heavily. Tracer missiles only 2 points - that's a big deal (especially as you don't need a lock to use them). Ordnance swarms are sure to be a thing. Point drops for lots of stuff - ion missiles at 2 points seems crazy cheap, as do ion torps at 4.
