  1. @P-47 Thunderbolt, other than the xp and the squad rules, I believe the only other one was regarding the risk of death in certain situations. For example if your character is tied up and facing a firing squad, the firing squad won't need to keep rolling till you run out of wounds. This is primarily to add a bit of pressure to capture situations and such. So far it's not come up and wouldn't be a common event either. You can make a perception check as you head down into the pit, it'll be an easy perception check with 2 setback and 1 boost due to the sheer dark your going into. I will do a follow up post after your check as those who haven't used their actions may still be able to act. It's a manoeuvre to mount up onto the platform, and anyone else who wants to do a perception check can do. Depending on what you see those who haven't taken an action will be able to do so. After this round regular initiative will be resumed.
  2. While the clones work on the crane, they notice that the control panel isn't written in basic, it seems to be some kind of alien text. Driz and Brick recognise the text as identical to the ithorian script used by the engineers and scientists that they were charged with protecting. Seeing the equipment, memories slowly begin to come back. It had been months ago, but some ithorians left the base to take core samples, taking one of the bases cranes with them. Nothing had come of it, but it was shortly after that the problems had begun. Broken equipment, corrupted data, and finally, missing personnel. This had concluded in the attack on the base by the gungan creatures and Driz's capture. Vos and Akua stand back a little as the clones work, a look of helplessness shared between the two. Vos slumps against the wall, glancing between the pit and the opposite wall, still gripping his injury with his good arm. Akua had taken to pacing nervously, muttering something incomprehensible under her breath. As the clones pile onto the platform it creaks or groans with a decidedly upsetting noise. Still, after the rocking stops the metal cable seems to hold. The platforms stability is tenuous at best, held by the single cable that split into the four corners, any serious moment could send it spinning out of control. Before activating the process, Akua steps forwards, straightening up as a serious look comes across her face. "Erm, I don't know if there's something I should do, or say, as a commander. I'm sorry I'm not strong enough to help you, but, well I'm really proud of you, all of you. Good luck, may the force be with you". With that she offer the squad a salute, and a small smile in Gunslingers direction. With the sergeant at the control panel set on the platform, the cranes engine grumbles before sputtering into life. Slowly the squad descend into the inky black of the pit. It takes only a few seconds before the black consumes them and they can no longer see the entrance. It's as if they were suspended in some kind of sinister limbo. So bad was it that the squad could barley see the beyond the exterior of the platform. Though they could not see anything, they could hear perfectly well. There was the sound of cracking and stone splintering in the dark, and it seemed to be coming from everywhere, from all directions. It was loud and decidedly off-putting, but the source was almost impossible to see without torches or night vision setups.
  3. @Mikeyfett7, as this isn't a combat situation I'm going to say rather than have you roll astrogation till you pass, I'm going to count this as a success, but due to your route plotting it take a day longer than planned. With the advantage you do land bang on the edge of the system as you planned though, so that's a plus. @Bellona I do see your point regarding the conflict, the reason it was rewarded is because even though it was done with good intention and to avoid combat, it does still have a negative impact on the people you had to steal from and deceive. However due to the good intentions as you mentioned the amount of conflict earnt was reduced for this. Unfortunately there will be some situations where conflict will be very difficult to avoid, and the best options for the players (assuming they want to) is to try and minimise conflict. As you guys are literal days away from the the jedi civil war, you guys will often be put into trying situations where you will have to deal with the 'lesser of two evils' type scenarios. In regards to the ship, the senate can legally impound the vessel as the jedi are still civilians of the republic. It is probably a good moment to say that due to the mandalorian wars and the jedi's refusal to join, the senate and the republic have soured on the jedi over the last few years. Compared to the jedi of the clone wars, you guys are lacking the same level of authority. However that may well change with the upcoming war. The ship itself has been impounded because of Karath's deception throwing suspicions on the jedi, combined with the appearance of Oola assassinating the admiral. While Karath still has support in the senate and the case is still open, the senate have tried to separate the jedi from the investigation, hence the need to break the ship out. The trip to Cathar would be 7 days, but is going to take 8 total. For anyone with wounds and strain, you can recover 8 wounds and all strain. If you have any critical injuries you can make 1 resilience check (difficulty based on the crit) to try to remove 1. If there is anything else you guys want to do you are welcome to. This may be a good chance to get to know your team-mates, most of you have only known each other for less than a day.
  4. As Krios gazes out into swirling tunnel of hyperspace, he hears his masters head in the back of their head, telling ghost stories about merchants and smugglers going mad after staring into the blue for two long . Losing their minds after seeing the horrifying visages that live in the space between space. Nonsense, of course. Entered into hyperspace, there is little else for Silun to do. Unless they hit a void shadow there journey was effectively automated from here on out. If they did his a void shadow, there probably wouldn't be much left of the ship to work with anyway. Fortunately it seemed that the hyperspace beacons were working correctly, and it would be a smooth journey. Even if they weren't, the latest developments in autonomous navigation computer aboard this vessel should keep them right. In the main living area, Zoroku finds a presently decorated occupied with tables and chair, a large holo-projector on the wall to accompany it all. There even seemed to be a recreational table for dejarik, and a few decks of cards presumably left by the Fornost engineers. Even jedi couldn't meditate all the time. That is unless Master Vrook was in fact correct. In the centre of the room was a large holo-table, set up for meetings and communications. Activating the communicator, it doesn't take Zoroku too long to prepare the appropriate information to initiate the contact. After a moment of garbled squawking from the machine (frustratingly loud for a covert communique), Zorku is once again face to face with the stern looking handler who had notified him of the shift in power. "Agent Splint, you were not scheduled to communicate for another week. Is something the matter?" Despite the question there was no sound of concern in the chiss's voice.
  5. Ok cool, @Shlambate if you want to roll for stealth just in case it is needed and when you're ready you can narrate trying to make contact.
  6. I have been tracking morality, so currently it should be accurate. Some was earnt in the spaceport for the deceptions needed to get through non-violently (I know it's the lesser of two evils, but I'm afraid it still needed awarding. What I will do in the future is try to make it more notable when conflict has been awarded, so that everyone can clearly see where it's come from. @Mikeyfett7, I believe it's just you for the dp roll and conflict, and it looks like you're in charge of the map as well with an easy astrogation! If anyone wants they can assist with the check. @Shlambate, to contact the Ascendancy you will need a long range communicator, which this ship would have. It's accessible from the cockpit or the main living area. If you want to you can try use it without the others noticing. It will be a stealth check vs any nosy characters perception.
  7. Den stiffens up again as he hears the inquisitor loom behind him. You'd think by now he'd have learnt to check behind him for superiors when he talked, certainly after last time. He turns to face the inquisitor, clutching the weapon to his chest as he listens. "Erm, good to know, sir, inquisitor, sir". As he strides ahead, Den remembers to breath and falls in behind as the breach is made. Den half raises his rifle as he steps behind their leader, ready to shoot anything that moved, or didn't.
  8. Sorry, I did mean light blaster cannon. You guys may well be able to upgrade to something larger later.
  9. Awesome, just make a not on your sheet somewhere as I may well forget and you'll be good to go :D
  10. Den takes back the rifle, slapping a hand onto the pilots shoulder with a firm grip. "True, true" he says in a low voice. "But what you have to remember is, what good is that giant gun when it's all the way up there, and mine is right here?" Den lets that hang in the air for a moment before bursting into a rueful chuckle. Slapping Ral on the shoulder Den moves ahead, shouldering the weapon as he prepares for whatever they found.
  11. @Bellona, I'll say an average mechanics check will provide a boost on your next mechanics check to repair the ship.
  12. Yes, we are wrapping up here, so for escaping Corouscant you've all earnt 15xp and 3 duty! At this point I'll have all of you please roll for destiny points as well. As this is the end of the session I'll also need everyone to roll a d10 for your morality scores. I have tracked the conflict you've all earnt during the session. When you've updated your morality score, let me know and I'll reset your conflict. For anyone without a duty listed please let me know what you think your jedi would want that to focus on. I may have asked before, but I've lost track of what people wanted.
  13. @Bellona, there's a couple of private quarters meant for jedi masters travelling, but most accommodation is two bunk area, enough room for four in each one. The ship has an encumbrance capacity of 300 total, and the ship currently does not have a name, that's something for you guys to come up with. https://star-wars-rpg-ffg.fandom.com/wiki/Jedi_Training_Cruiser_"Crucible" This is the ship you guys will have access to. The ship has the benefits of the workshop and databanks, but is missing two hard points as it has a medium ion cannon and light blaster cannon as turrets.
  14. Ok, unless there is anything else you want to do, you guys are in the clear! It's an easy astrogation check to navigate to Catahar for anyone who wants to do that.
  15. The officer seems unconvinced as he watches Andja closely. As Zoroku speaks the officer jabs a finger in his direction. "Listen, mate, you're on thin ice with this as it is. Don't be telling me-", he paues as one of the guards clears his throat loudly. The head guard straightens up, smoothing out his uniform a little. "Right, give it here" he snaps, snatching the datapad from Andja and tapping on the screen forcefully, forcefully not reading the details on it. Tossing it back he turns and waves to one of the engineers, following it with a sharp whistle. "Oi, go get the hanger door open!" The engineer jumps to his feet and half runs across the hanger to the door across the room, quickly disappearing from sight. In the mean time the guards step to one side and let the jedi past and board their ship. The ship itself was a welcome sight and release from the sound of the blaring alarms. The supplies and fuel were almost fully stocked, and the repairs to the vessel had been done remarkably well. For Zorku in particular it may be a welcome sight. The ship he had travelled on for his first mission, before all of this. Before the death of his fellow padawans, the attack on Fornost, the betrayal of the Karth and even the senate turning against the jedi. Before the news of his fathers removal from the chiss admiralty. In truth with the investigation and hunting Karath, he hadn't had much time to think about all that had been going on. As the jedi board, there is a low rumble as light is cast on the ship, the hanger door splitting into four as it draws back. It looked like the jedi were in the clear, they'd freed the ship and convinced security to let them past. Not only that but they had potentially located Karath. Still, they were a long way from ending their mission, Cathar was a long way away, and they did not know what they would find when they get there.
  16. In the mean time, whoever wants to head up the crane setup will need to do the easy mechanics check with 1 setback, and if you want to get it working this round it'll need 2 others to dedicate their actions to powering it up, making the repairs etc.
  17. Sorry, the 0 on my keyboard sometimes sticks and I didn't notice. @rocketrobie2 in fact takes 0 damage, but is nocked prone. @Jedi Ronin and @rocketrobie2, I'm going to edit my last post to show the effects of the power. The threshold is for both of you as it's to see if the force power can affect each of you.
  18. Seeing the inquisitor pick up the disruptor, Den suddenly goes very still. He'd been using the weapon during the battle, but it's easy to keep it under the radar in the heat of combat. Still, the weapons were illegal, and he didn't know enough about the inquisitor to tell if he would take issue with its use. Violent issue. Den sidles beside Ral, a half step behind and speaks in a low voice. "I don't know who owns that gun, but do you want me to hold onto it for you? You know, keep it safe so you don't have to carry it". Den was good at shooting, he was not good at subtly propositioning an imperial officer for illegal weaponry.
  19. As Caieous tries to move the tattered body of their opponent, it lets out an indignant ear piercing screech. "You dare try to use your magics against me? I am one of the Seven! I am beyond your reach! You are only here to let them feed!" The creature hunches low, dark energy rolling off of them like a tidal wave. The horrible visage of their enemy flickers and disappears from view. More troubling, the presence within the force seems to disappear as well. The gurgling cackle echoes around the room before they reappear to one side of the cavern, and then another, and another. More and more of the figure appear, spread in a semicricle before the jedi, numbering six in total As Vinteer rushes past the corpse of their master, they attack shatters one of the oncoming statues. The air is filled with the sound of crumbling rubble and a sharp crack as a burst of green energy snaps out of existence like a rubber band. It is not enough to stop the tide of inanimate enemies though. The lurch towards the padawan with their swords and spears, almost all notable features have worn away with time, leaving most faceless monsters before the jedi. Suddenly the blades lunge out at the jedi with wild and irregular strikes. Every attack was a single swing, nothing flowed or linked. It was like fighting mannequins, hundreds of the sinister possessed. The practiced padawan is able to deflect the blows with ease, but the sheer numbers catch him out. Pressing their weight against him, the padawan finds himself flung to the floor, the faceless baring down on him with weapons raised. Meanwhile, following the intuition of Driz, the clone squad and their injured jedi are able to follow the sounds of rumbling and shaking in the ground. After a few wrong turns the squad burst into a large cavern, different to the others. This cave looks naturally formed, not carved like the rest of the temple. Set in the centre of the room is a huge, almost perfectly circular sinkhole. Dozens of the largest veins that ran through the temple run across the floor and ceiling and disappear into the inky black of the hole. What is more unsettling is the seven skeletons that lie evenly spaced around the hole. Each one is prostrated in front of the hole, dressed in what was once fine robes and head dressed. Now the colours are faded and tattered, the metals tarnished. The skeletons aren't human, they are squad, their skulls seem to be of some kind of avian. It looks as if they died mid-prayer, undisturbed since. Set near the back wall of the cavern was what looked like old mining equipment, open crates stacked with core samples and cutting tools. The most dominant item was a large orange and black crane arm, complete with an open topped cab. Attached to the arm was large flat platform lacking any real railing, and truly huge spool of reinforced cable. The platform was fitted with a small console, presumable to control the crane from the platform itself. Vos staggers towards the sink hole, wincing as he clutches his side. "I can sense something. I think, I think my master is down there, and something, terrible". He staggers back, genuine fear crossing face. "We have to hurry, they won't survive for long. There was four of us in total on this moon. Me, my master; Master Gux, Caieous was the knight I think, and another padawan, Vinteer". As he says this, it is easy to tell that the platform won't fit a squad of five clones, and four jedi. Maybe six at most.
  20. Pit Combat: @Edgehawk 5s1a @Jedi Ronin 4s4a @rocketrobie2 3s3a @pyciloo Unknown Being: soak-, -/- wounds, -/- strain adversary 3 1s3a1t @Shlambate Statue Horde: soak 3, 20/25 wounds, 5/5 men 1s @Xcapobl @P-47 Thunderbolt 0s @pyciloo, your attack is enough to destroy one of the statues, but unfortunately with horde rules that isn't enough to stop them advancing. @Jedi Ronin and @rocketrobie2, I just need a discipline check from both of you, no difficulty. If you beat 5 success and 5 advantage the figures power fails to affect you. If you fail the power does work and I will narrate accordingly. As that is the round up, the rest of you arrive as a squad at your next location! I'm going to add that to the last ic as I forgot to. For the clone squad, the crane does look damaged, but workable. Setting it up will take an easy mechanics with 1 setback, but it will cost the equivalent of three actions to do so. Working together you can divide that among yourselves. As you guys aren't in combat proper yet you don't have to go in order here if you don't want to. The crane platform can fit six on it, and thanks to Vos you know there's supposedly three jedi down there. Of course you can send people down in multiple trips but you will need to decide who you want to send first. Depending on how you want to do it, @Edgehawk, you're up!
  21. The door back to the corridor hisses open to reveal that the droids guarding the door had left. They must have left to deal with the 'disturbance' set by the former mandalorian ally. The party are able to pull of this first part of their deception, acting as if they had walked their way in and acting as if they belonged. The guards inside however do not seem taken with the deception. Two of the secruity droids begin to stomp towards the group, rifles raised. "You do not have clearance to be in this impound hanger. Please disperse at once. You do not have-" The droids are cut off as the presumed leader of the security force runs forward, flanked by several others in the squad. "Oi oi, what's this? We've not been given any orders about a transfer. The station's in lockdown, there's been some kind of explosion apparently". The security officer turns to Zoroko with an unimpressed look. "That's what the alarm is about, dude". This may be only a spaceport security officer, but the posture and general presence suggests that this figure may be a war veteran. As he stands there his eyes narrow a little as his hand slow shifts towards the handle of the baton on his hip. "Where's your security detail?" he asks, gesturing to the engineer and pilot uniforms. "This is highly irregular".
  22. @Edgehawk, this will be an average deception with 2 setback, but you also get 2 boost from your parties approach and the excuses. @Shlambate can also assist.
  23. @Shlambate the stealth is back to the door so you guys can act as if you came in that way. As overall it's a pass I'm going to say this actually counts as the original roll needed to open the door, so you guys are already there. Whoever wants to take the lead in talking two the guards feel free to narrate leading the group 'in through the door', and I'll sort the guards response.
  24. Pit Combat: @Edgehawk 5s1a @Jedi Ronin 4s4a @rocketrobie2 3s3a Unknown Being: soak-, -/- wounds, -/- strain adversary 3 1s3a1t @Shlambate Statue Horde: soak 3, 25/25 wounds, 5/5 men 1s @Xcapobl @P-47 Thunderbolt 0s @Shlambate is correct regarding the initiative. @rocketrobie2, unfortunately you need a second pip to activate the range, meaning the throw would fall short here. I am happy for you to say that Vinteer moves to short range to attack if you want, making this attack successful, but do remember that puts you in range of the advancing statues on their turn.
