  2. Well, it for sure is his best upgrade since it gives him R3 protection, leaving only R2 as vulnerability. Stealth Device would be second best in most cases. Guidance Chips is good if you run ordnance on this guy, but dunno what the best missiles for him would be. EDIT: It's Torpedoes!?
  3. I agree with X-wing being a Jouster, you make it sound kinda like a bad thing, @Giledhil, which I guess it's true in the current game. Jouser is supposed to be a perfectly valid role! B-wing is different enough to not be redundant, I think. What worries me is that no matter how good the stats of a ship are, it's useless if it can't point towards enemies. Soontie era taught us that it's actually pretty easy to never be in arc. I'm kind of a new player (about year and a half), maybe there's ways to cover all options with good flying with the amount of ships you'll be able to field now ... Or maybe these X-wings will have some new trick for mobility.

  5. B-Wing would not be the ship I use to replace a TLT Y-wing who is offering some unique utility to that list to handle some matchups. Going full on Rebel 2013 joust party doesn't end well, I think. Maybe consider Ion Cannon turret to save points?
  6. So what is the mathematical reasoning behind this feature? It seems to make sense if you want to increase the cost effectiveness of some ships, since it's kinda like a Vaksai title for them. But it also kind of says that "Ship B is always better than Ship A, and the gap increases by adding more upgrades enough that their base point difference is no longer accurate." What made you come to that conclusion? The other point of view would be: "Ship B has potential to be good, but is dependent certain upgrades that would make it cost too much, so it gets some leeway". But the Corran example seems to contradict that, since he is pretty garbage without max upgrades.
  7. So, @MajorJuggler, maybe I didn't pay much attention when you explained it, but is the upgrade cost "tier" thing of each pilot determined in a case by case basis or is it the result of some function with their attributes?

  9. Well, intensity flips after you use it 1 time. Can't do both boost and BR to trigger it twice in the same turn.
  10. I smell those Autothrusters that make turrets manageable. Shame only a few ships can use them.

  13. I thought X-wing community was the best in any game I've played while I was reddit-only. It's a great place there, just not as active as this. But I wanted MORE discussion... So I joined this forum, and now it starts to look like other games communities.

  15. Well, this new thing will we based on the XWS spec, but obviously it can't be it for the reasons that have already been explained. It's gonna be kind of it's own thing as far as outputs go. Main requirement is being compatible with Vassal, it seems. But this would require that the new custom cards actually exist in vassal in the first place. You making the expansion for it?

  17. Oh, interesting. I had not thought of this. Guess it's one of the things that come up when you're actually doing the builder. I can see why there's been some apprehension now. It's not that it's hard, but I guess it requires handling a lot of scenarios and it's gonna bloat the code. It will make it a longerproject, but if MajorJuggler releases it in "waves", it shouldn't be too bad to add the new stuff. Probably gonna be a better idea to code the new one ground-up rather than trying to adapt the current way it's being handled to support it. EDIT: Anyways, if there's at least one existing builder that wants to support this, the least I could do now is try to help.
  18. Adding the "X-wing 2.0" prefix and calculating point costs for print/export seem trivial for any squad builder. But it's good that are being specific with all the requirements you want. Question is if you can add stuff to the thing and still have it processed properly by Vassal, which would be a problem on their side. Personally, I use TTS for online play and it allows you to import from a bunch of formats with extra stuff like totals tacked in there.
  19. Do hate engine, but mostly because it's so good on some ships that's aunto-include and costs a whooping 4 points!!! Always have a hard time fitting it into small ships lists due to the cost. From the screenshot of MajorJuggler's 2.0, engine upgrade is both cheaper and small ship only, so rejoice <3!
  20. If Fab is willing to put it in his Builder, that will make things way faster. If there's an issue with output format, those can be added really fast, like 1 day. So that looks pretty good for your project's future~
  21. Apparently they suck now, I guess. Imperials have always had strong viable options in this game... A lot of them becoming subpar within a year has really hurt us Imperial players. Plus, everyone loves Soontir! We can't let him fall into obscurity!

  25. ^^^ That should do just fine. But h Awesome, this should be workable. Step 1 will be to convert it, but should be done first. Let me know when it's ready. Also, why are there values for 100pt game, just in case someone wants to convert? BTW, I think the 200pt double cost rule, while not as "pretty", is very important. There's some cards that def should be like 2.5 points.
