The titles try to emulate the "reality" with their costs, but the rest of the game does not work like that. FFG wants games to end quickly, so there is red dice creep, but much less green dice creep. So the very few instances of them handing out a powerful defensive boost AND its cheaper, especially on a ship that is deemed to expensive.. the choice is really obvious.

Well someone has to be disappointed after Gen Con...

There's a really cool double-cannon dual card custom somewhere that has a really powerful shot, but flips and requires a turn of weapons disabled and/or other stuff to turn back over. I would like to see something like that. I really like Bio's idea for Linked Batteries. Not sure how to word that though given "When... a primary... [cannon] secondary... may reroll..." So more likely simply "When attacking with a primary weapon or [cannon] secondary weapon, you may re-roll [1-2] dice."

You mean the Arc Caster, a real card?

Corran is good because he attacks twice, effectively doubling his offensive value.  Same reason we see so much of Dengar, Quickdraw, and Kanan, as well, since they all "double-tap" in their own ways.  Bossk + Cluster Missiles + Crane is about the only YV-666 build that's close to competively viable, and he's double-tapping with those missile shots.  All of this bodes well for the new Khirakkadkalsdf PS4 who can double-tap when folks get bombed, though being Scum he's competing with quite a few A-listers.

Makes you realize just how darn bad the Falcon has been in the current meta since the Resistance "double-tap" Chewie is nowhere to be seen.

I'm not sure there were any attacks performed by that list.

Also, how long until we have something that gives Reload to the mighty Punisher?

I suggested this in a Punisher thread a few weeks ago and was told it would be a crappy fix. Probably right since that ship dies before it can unload.

Interestingly enough, the Ghost in Rogue One is Phantomless...

I'm surprised the first one lasted as long as it did TBH, those tiny shuttles aren't meant for dogfighting! They pretty much only use it for exploring and sneaking.

Do you remember which episode had the Shadowcaster and which had the Wookiee Gunship?

Wookie Gunship was in the very first episode of the entire series.

Shadowcaster was somewhere in mid-late season 2.

Also, the Protectorate Fang Fighter is featured in this show.

  7. The "I get nerfed for winning tournaments" mentatlity for balancing is really bad. Mortal Kombat X and other vfighting games by NRS do this somewhat and it's really annoying for the top players since it doesn't give anyone time to "adapt". Knee jerk balance reactions are the worst, the game meta needs a pretty long time to settle after a big change... The Wave XI one is far from determined yet.

    Not true

Long as they don't have a dot next to their name, they're not unique and are therefore "generic"

Plenty of other game systems give their nonnamed units special abilities

Now you definitely don't want squad abilities (assuming they only trigger across  a ship type) because that just stifles list building by relegating ships to specific lists. Abilities that trigger based on the positioning of other friendlies is a better idea

On one side, it gives a reason to actually use generics in a way that can compete with the top pilots without needing to include those pilots at all.

On the other hand, the same, wouldn't wanna mix Aces with pilots much anymore. Would be All generics or All aces, but there's still variety.

Because you can have fun at other formats than repetitive 100/6 with only OP stuff. Because its Star Wars:

Never not had fun in X-Wing. But I mostly play with my friends, so never see all the dumb stuff. X-wing still fun game if you have people to play with that won't bring Metawing lists! However, some ships still suck even in Casual <.< RIP Punisher.

It's not just that we can support for the game long after it's dead, we can create a significantly more balanced and diversified meta game than FFG can. Yay X-wings!

Did your thingy with X-wing math2.0 whatever evolve into this? I heard about it on the S&V podcast today and was really surprised. It's great that it's getting more serious now, didn't know how it was turning out~

Snap Juke A-wings OP, they attack in the activation phase and you don't even get an action. OP PLZ NERF:P

THis list is such an NPE, I move my ships and die! How  did it get past the playtesters wtf? They should be fired even if it's not a job.

Took me all one minute to find these.

    • The Krayt Fang was a YT-1300 light freighter that belonged to Trex, a Trandoshan bounty hunter in the employ of Hutt Cartel crime lord Teemo

    • The Frontier Hawk was a heavily-armed, modified YT-1300 light freighter owned and operated by smuggler Roget Jiriss as of 10 ABY.

Oo-Ta Goo-Ta was a modified YT-1300 light freighter owned and operated by the Rodian pirate and slaver Chordak.

The Krayt Fang has a sick paintjob.

  13. ^^^^ Gotta like those skittles in RPG and Imperial Assault. Having a pound of rainbow colored dice can be confusing, but it allows a lot more granularity in attack power, defense, conflict resolution, etc. It's cool in those games.
