Oh this looks awesome! How many ranks of Dodge are in the tree?

Also, do you move as part of Far Strike? If not, how do you narrate such an attack?

All three of these specs look absolutely amazing! Thanks for posting!

    2 Dodge and Improved Dodge.

Far Strike: Doesn't say, my guess... it’s like a monk moves fast to attack and flies back to where he started.

Signature abilities please and the Kyber Crystals that come with the book.

    Sig:

Deadly Reputation: Once per session Spend destiny points to activate. Until the end of your next turn increase difficulty of all skill Checks targeting the character by one.

Unmatched Ferocity: Once per session after resolving a successful melee combat check against a target engaged with the character, Spend destiny points. Suffer 4 strain and 1 conflict to immediately make a melee attack as an incidental against same target, increasing difficulty by one to a max of formidable. If Success the character may repeat the process suffering further strain and conflict.

These just seem like odd choices of races for the Warrior book.  Putting aside my personal preferences, but how did these ones get picked over notable warrior races like the Noghri, Nagi, Shark folks introduced in Clone Wars, **** even the raptor race from the old books.  I think the only thing more surprising would have been if they put the Kushiban in this book.

The Duwotin are portrayed like Samurai. It’s awesome art.

  4. Specialization: Steel Hand Adept

unarmed and Dangerous! Seriously, a monk build!!! **** yes.

    Unique Talents:

Iron Body - Remove Setback per Rank from Coordination and Resilience Checks. Also, decrease Crit of unarmed attacks by one. (I know this isn’t unique to this book but there are 2 Ranks here, that’s huge considering now you can get substantial stacks... 4 I think?)

Acklay’s Scything Strike: Brawl Attacks gain Pierce equal to Force Rating. Yup.

Unarmed Parry: As it says but also reduces strain to unarmed Parry by 1 per Rank.

Improved Dodge: After using Dodge can make a move maneuver as an out of turn incidental.

Far Strike: Brawl attack as ranged, adding Force points up to Force Rating. Increase range by each point spent.

Sapith Sundering: May add force dice up to Force Rating to Brawl Checks. Attacks gain sunder quality and may spent force points generated as Advantage to activate sundering.

What's a Phydolon? I actually recognize both the other (obscure) species, but Phydolon is drawing a complete blank and Wookieepedia doesn't even have a single result for it.

  9. All of you have a unique perspective that adds something to my understanding, so thank you for that. I might not always agree with you, but even in disagreement I see that your comments are rooted not in anger but in a differing perspective. That’s a good sign for the overall community of the forum.

  10. I get why they close subjects but I have seen abuses from Mods in the past, which is why I hardly post here anymore. I’d rather move to a forum that appreciates discussion even if that discussion isn’t always one of agreement.

(PS some of the blocked content is language we see as tame in preschool rooms.)

You get FR 3 from just Emergent and Exile for about 150xp, there are just so many talents without ranks which save you tons of XP. Padawan surviver has iirc the 3rd rank in the talent. And you need something as starting career, no need to even invest XP into it.

Now there are certainly other ways as well maybe even some more XP effective, either way FR4 in itself is not a large XP investment.

The example you provided takes 375 spent xp and you end with only 4 FP and no super useful talent combinations or any skills. Sure, you can spend hundreds of xp to achieve the 4 ranking, but that doesn’t make you Maul.

Mid you invest another couple of hundred of xp you can pull together a coherent character concept and bring in force talents, but all this goes towards the original point... this is expensive for a reason.

Cunning 6 is fo sho the emperor.

Anakin would be 6 agility or even 7 but only because of force enhance. He's nowhere near a natural 6.

Yoda is probably a 6 in will, so was kao cen darach. Emperor was probably a 6 too.

Builder of the death star... I forgot his name, but he probably has at least a 5 in intelligence.

Chewie is a str 4 probably. Han might have had a 5 in agility, maybe 6 at the end, look at that 70 year han solo juke and dive like a young man! That's probably stretching it.

Jabba had near 6, but more like 5 will probably. I dont think he was a very cunning hutt though. Probably a 4.

Thrawn probably had a 6 ranks in knowledge warefare but I'm not convinced he'd be int 6, 4 sure maybe 5 possibly.

Luke at the end had discipline 6, though I'm not sure his will was more than 4.

Rey is probably Will 4 or 5, will hit 6 by then end of the trilogy. She's a niman, ascetic, and she's gonna pick up another fr+2 spec at the end. That's why she's so mary sue. So that's what fr 6 looks like.

Qui zux from legends probably had 6 intelligence.

Xizor probably had a 6 in presence, probably 5 in cunning.

That's all i can think of right now...

    Galen Erso

Well the original design was Poggle the Lesser, but then the technology behind the conversion and focusing of kyber crystal energy (aka the Death Star Laser) was Galen Erso. Definitely a 6. Bevel was Legends, I don’t know if he was ever included in canon but I could see them recycling him somehow, the Death Star project involved thousands of people and hundreds of locations.

Would a 300-400 xp Gambler, Padawan Surviver, Force Exil & Force Emergent not be already at Force Rating 4? ?

No, those don’t apply if you already have a Rank, so that’s a force Rating one, unless you buy through the trees to get the talent, at which point you have invested a lot more. Hermit is actually the most cost effective means to get 3 Ranks, then stacking a 4th would be easy, but that’s without accounting for any Force Powers, stats etc. All of which is designed to weigh you down on xp to allow for balance.

We have a verpine in my current game and whenever there was even a fairly minor decision to be made(do we go left or right?) he would pause and make sure he asked everyone what they wanted to do before deciding himself.  It wasn't really obvious for a bit what he was doing, just seemed a quirk of his character then we realized he was coming to a hive consensus.

    Best. Idea. Ever.

Thank you sir, you just made my life.
