Clearly you did not read the article. None of your comments addressed the points it was making.

I did in fact read the article. I do in fact disagree with the premise that you are herein making, i.e. that profits are going to drop off because content saturation has taken place, thereby necessitating a new edition. You in fact sidestepped my original statement in referencing the failure of 4th Edition, the failure of it to capitalize on the successful attributes of its previous iteration by applying a video game style approach to its hero powers and other nonsense that had no place in the rules. My analogy herein is that substituting the existing system for a Gensys take on it would again fail to recognize the differences in the system are inherently its strengths.

Sales of things like DOR should indicate that your assumptions regarding content viability are not founded, at least yet.

4E was not just bad because it abandoned a system peopled loved, it also went to one that was, frankly, not based in RPG’s but in computer games. Gensys conversion would make a similar mistake in abandoning a beloved product for one that is based upon something inconsistent with what made this one successful. In this case, Star Wars as a unique setting, not a generic one.

Nothing has been announced,  but I'm still having a gut feeling that a 2e is waiting to drop after they've had the last career book out for few months.

They go this route and they will lose a lot of fans. The 4th Edition Model is not one to emulate.

That said, the lack of announcements does little for confidence in the line. ****, the last book realized was done before it’s preview articles were released, so it’s like they stopped caring. AOR more so. Fully Operational and Cyphers are both examples of how they don’t seem interested in putting out content on schedule or saying what prevented them. Truly disheartening. The system they built just needs content, not Gensys style reformation.

Was Force and Destiny written before or after the sale to Disney? I sense that, if it had been after, that Tython stuff may have gotten the axe.

Since FFG is essentially writing stuff that affects, or is affected by, the new canon I suspect that they don't have as much freedom we might wish they did. Bothans were scrubbed from the German Age of Rebellion book.

I don't see "prestige" careers becoming a thing. F&D sort of cheated with Knight Level play - which would be a workaround for the Clone Wars - but all that means is starting with more XP. Prestige classes work for OGL games because that system has such a sharp power curve. Shoehorning it into FFG/Gensys and its shallow power curve wouldn't make a lot of sense.

It’s not just Tython there is Legends material suffused through the art and materials. You can see Mara Jade and other content. FFG is definitely leaning into the canon material, but they aren’t actively opposed to Legends where it makes sense. Disney’s just not dictating that level of exactitude.

I think adding signature classes to the careers would be a nice way to add paragon play. Similar to signature abilities you could only apply this to the characters starting career once certain conditions are met. I’d love to see this paired with region books that reflect the career. For example an explorer might find theirs in the book referencing the Chiss Ascendency. This helps flesh out those areas and ensure higher sales.

Keldabe Class Battleship. Built by Mando Motors, stolen by Zane Consortium. Depending on the source it either has a rail gun that fires through shields or in the FFG version has the ability to drain enemy shields and suffer strain.

It’s actually my goal to own one on my Rigger/Modder because he can actually get enough ranks of Larger project to be able to have this Sil 7 ship as his signature vessel... adding bonus handling, Armor, speed, hard Points etc.

Ya know that Lego thread I had way back some guy made this also. I'm sure the ship lore nerds must know what it is.

  7. The F&D Book Endless Vigil introduced the stats for the TC-SC droid and it’s CQ-3.80 Multispectrum Disguise Kit. I’d like to allow this kit to be added to another droid as a Cybernetic enhancement but as it has extensive modifications to the base unit, it will require some hefty costs. I am hoping that community input can help me craft an appropriate balance. Here’s my thoughts;

    CQ-3.80 Multispectrum Disguise Kit

    - Restricted to Droids.

    - Requires 3 Cybernetics

    - 5,600 Creds, Rarity 8

-Provides a full spectrum disguise when activated which requires a Formidable Perception Check to pierce the illusion.

    - Actions taken by the character and the ability to have studied a subject’s mannerisms, voice and personality in advance factor into whether setbacks or bonuses are applied to the roll.

    - Mods; 2 Innate Talent (Indistinguishable)

    - Because of the frailty of the system, when subjected to an attack while the disguise function is in use the system will be damaged one step.

I really can’t wait for this one to come out, it’s likely going to be a go to for many. I’m also wondering when a F&D spec might come out with the “I rip thoughts from your mind” ability to pair with the interrogator!

So much awesome in this little book. I can’t wait for it.

TLDR - Can’t we just get this book already?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

You're close, Shlam!  I don't seek out knowledge (although I do aquire it in my quest), but rather understanding and wisdom.  The Mystics here understand the difference :) .  But yes!   If anything, I'd grab the Steel Hand Adept specialization, but even then, it's unlikely.

    You cup runneth over Prophetess.

    That's  your opinion.

We all have opinions and we are all fanboys/girls here. No need for us to be upset with one another over something that we have no control over. Some things sit well with us, some don’t. It’s okay to disagree and to imagine differences with how the saga plays out. That’s half the fun of being a fanboy (or girl). Way I see it, if you like Midichlorians then great use it, if not, great, ignore it. I’m ignoring all the mess that is the new post Endor period but I know my GM loves it. In the end, we can still find more we agree with than we disagree with.

They're kinda just wall paintings *shrugs* their presence is mostly Jedi myths more than anything. Pretty sure that Rebels even refers to them as archetypes and not as living, breathing beings.

Wall paintings that are the key to unlocking the secret that makes the plot possible. They are clearly meant to be something more, and including them there signifies that the previous occurrence was not merely a vision. Others have encountered them and they have a deep connection to the galaxy’s Force using traditions. Even the way they were used to open the passage was indicative of their previous roles, again cementing the truth of the encounter Anakin shared.

    Honestly?

Never had much of a problem with midochlorians, thanks to the good ol’ Certain Point if View (TM).

Qui-Gon just had it backwards - midichlorians don’t bestow Force sensitivity...they’re drawn to it. So, a “midichlorian count” can still be used to determine/quantify someone’s Force potential, but it’s not the reason for that potential.

I actually liked that there was a physical representation of the force. I mean if you had told someone in Christopher Colombus’ time that humans were made up of molecules they would have laughed at you for ressurrecting the musings of Ancient Greek philosophers.

People don’t like that it messes with their mysticism of it, but personally, I love when science and tech meet up at levels that seem magical.

It actually was Lucas who wanted that put in, haha.

It really has no large impact on the story and tbh the whole arc was basically a shared Force vision (open to interpretation but they all black out and wake up in unison).

They bring it back for the end of Rebels so it’s actually supposed to be a huge part of the new canon. I toss that **** out with the rifle that can shoot down Star destroyers.

So Dowutin can be Sil 2 at the player's option but Hutts are stuck beingSil 1... I'm not sure why Hutts don't have the Large species ability too.

There really don't seem to be too many drawbacks to being Sil 2, but not really too many advantages either.

Also, the way Immovable applies when they are "otherwise moved against their will," we now have a species that can resist Move with ease.

I love that Duwo’s can be huge but I agree, Hutts should have the option as well. Maybe we will see the introduction of an “Ancient Hutt” or “Venerable Hutt” as a variant species like Mandos and Corellians are to humans. I’d support that. Though I’m still waiting for my Karkarodon’s!

These aren't all quite right. Books at home, so I don't have exact wording but:

Embrace Your Hate: Spend a destiny point to add damage equal to dark side points in the current pool to a successful melee, or lightsaber attack. Gain an equal amount of conflict. Usable once per encounter, per rank (2 ranks in the tree). Worth noting it also specifies 1 conflict per session regardless of ranks. Which seems ok since using it is a bullet train to the dark side.

Inner Peace: Once per encounter, flip a number of destiny points form dark to light equal to ranks in inner peace (2 in tree). Reduce your session conflict gain by the number flipped.

Vaapad Control: Spend a destiny point to downgrade a  melee or lightsaber attack a number of times equal to the number of light side points in the pool

I was giving a flavour text not a blow by blow. The crux of the abilities as I see them. Having a character who can use inner peace / embrace to change some LS-DS was what I was geeking over. It’s not the entirety of it, but I’m not posting here to replace people actually buying the books. Thus why I didn’t break out tree structure etc. I’m sure someone will say it’s always been done, blah blah, but as a copyright agent I can tell you that just because it has been done doesn’t make it legal or right.

I was just about to ask this, too :) .  Obviously the Conflict talents (Power from Pain, Embrace Your Hate, and Juyo Savagery) are Force talents, but which other ones?

Balance and Vaapad control in addition to the conflict Talents you named for Juyo.

Colossus is the conflict one (Power from Pain) and Indomitable Will.

What!! Are you saying you can choose to be Silhouette 1 or 2 when you create the character? Does the choice have any xp cost tied to it?

That would be the first species that has a silhouette of 2.

Correct. It also states that some of the larger but not possibly the largest Duwotin are 4 meters tall and weigh 2 metric tonnes.

Now I see why those specs can be so powerful. Dang, Colossus and Juyo will be expensive specs get full power. Steel Hand Adept, though, looks really efficient (as it should be to be based on unarmed combat). And looking at the layout, seems like it will work nicely with Martial Artist.

Also, I love that you have to pass through the dark side talent in Juyo before getting to Inner Peace. So thematic!

Steel Hand is extremely expensive. 285 xp to get full use of its potential
