  1. You should do a few youtube videos on how to do that terrain! Your terrain not only looks amazing, but it also looks like it would play well with the trays! Runewars Terrain vids would be huge. I'm a complete terrain newb and would love to have something like that on my table.
  2. Have they said how loyal they are going to be to timelines? If they're not, expansion possibilities abound... Curious if they posted an official stance there.
  3. I keep wondering if the Core Set is going to be out for Christmas shopping season or not. Seems like it would be a big miss if it wasn't, but here we are staring down December and no announced street date. Whats your best guess?
  4. Just got back from Pax Unplugged a few days ago and, woohoo, what a show. One huge complaint... There were hundreds to thousands of people playing miniature war games and there was literally ZERO Runewars going on there. Nada. Null. None. To be fair, FFG had a very weak showing compared to most medium->major gaming studios (they didn't even show off Legion there which is unfathomable to me). Shame on FFG tbh. I feel like we need to try to get some momentum going into next years show and get a tournament there. If I'm paying for a trip, it's going to be to Pax (any one of them, but unplugged especially) and not the FFG Worlds in Minnesota. With all due respect, Minnesota is a pretty rotten destination for a get-away weekend.
  5. I'd Venmo over some $ if you wanted to build me some terrain. Seriously. Its one side of the hobby I've yet to get into, but I love the way it looks on the table.
  6. Man, I love this thread. So much cool stuff in here. Keep it coming!
  7. Right back at you, Mike.
  8. Does FFG ever reply here? Would love to know whats going on there. Both with ACD and with the representation.
  9. great look inside, thanks!
  10. I didn't think they'd do a scale Rancor in IA, either, but they did! And it was awesome.
  11. I was hoping for December I haven't painted all my elves yet! LOL! JK. Ship them now pls.
  12. Those are some really nice figures. Somehow it saddens me to think of you dumping your hard work on them for pocket $ not house $. A 100 - 200 bucks won't make a dent in those finances. That kind of $ comes from sustained positive income. Keep them. Play when you can.
  13. So trick I use is go with white in the eyes and then use a blue glaze like citadel's glaze guilliman blue (or whichever color you choose) over the top of it. Do the glazing in several really light layers - I usually add about an equal amount of lamium medium. It will dry pretty fast, but do give it time to dry. The effect you want will build up over about 3 thinned layers or you can just do 1 non-thinned if you're impatient. If you want a different color you can do a glaze with 1 brush of your color and about 6 or 7 drops of the valejo glaze medium.
  14. What happened? Just saw a lack of anything on News
  15. If nothing else than to give Imperial Assault its space and reduce the number of redundant figures. I'd rather a base set with Ray and Kylo Ren too. There would be a lot potential in the armies there.
  16. Plus by the time the game hits the shelves, the 2nd of 3 movies will be out too. They could have had any number of opportunities to incorporate items from Last Jedi in if they wanted. Every toy maker/game maker gets NDA approved insight into the designs.
  17. cool video man
  18. No new release this month?!
  19. wow that looks great! MOAR ELVES!
  20. I can't wait to paint the Moose. Thats incredible.
  21. The color primer stuff is a great idea. Quick shade stuff is pretty good too. If you look at Sorastro's zombie painting guide , he covers a good approach there. Allows you to just do the base coat and get them table ready. If you're going for something more precise, just take your time, mount 3 or 4 on pots or little bottles, and enjoy painting. If you're going for speed pick out ~4 base colors and don't worry about unique colors for the details... just punch them up a little more when you get to the point where you're doing finish touches. If you're going to go light on highlights, try to add some lamium medium to the shades so they don't darken everything too much especially on lighter colors. Save the straight nuln oil or agrax earthshade for metallics or leathers.
  22. Thats a cool idea. You need to post those up! I have my first few done and I'm really excited about it. I traded the loren forest for warpstone to punch up the green some without being the eye rending color on the box
  23. So I picked up my Latari elves and I plan to spend some time getting them glued and primed up... but I'm trying to do some research on the color palette to use. I saw the Army Painter setup here - http://www.beastsofwar.com/army-painter/runewars-paint-sets/. I was trying to figure out what they're selling in that (and then I can map up the greens and browns to my citadel paints). Any one have any idea whats in the green box here? Or other good ideas for Latari Elves?
  24. thank's guys. great ideas! Warning I'm a citadel guy: I was thinking of going with: base green: Castellan Green shade: Biel Tan Green (really pops the green) 1st highlight: Loren Forest + Moot green in stages to lighten it up I'm going to go with a silver with a hint of a light blue mixed in (lunar vibe) for the metal work. I haven't picked the leather color, yet, but I'd love to mix in a little yellow or orange into the leather color to warm it up and add some punch vs. the standard leather colors that I have all over the other armies. So maybe: Base: some XV88 for the tans and Skrag Brown + a touch of Evil Suns scarlet (maybe a 4:1 mix?) for a red-brown leather, Rhinox hide for belts and straps. shade: typical mix of nuln oil and agrax earthshade Highlights: Skrag brown areas probably thinned Skrag brown then a bit of fire dragon bright to lighten it up... maybe just 1 2nd highlight there? I'd love to find some good autumn leaf flocking though... some fallen foliage on the base. Know any good stuff there?
