Its almost like the Scorpion players like to downplay how good their stuff is.  How weird.

Based on the response from Katrina Ostrander on Facebook and Twitter? The answer to this question is either “No,” or “Player’s Choice”.
As written, Bayushi Kyo is never given a gendered pronoun, and has at times impersonated their brother and their sister flawlessly.
It was the writer’s intent for Bayushi Kyo to be a gender fluid or non binary gender option for players.
Because representation matters, and is awesome.

Still not sure how I feel about the direction of Unicorn. It seems like too many of the personalities are still just blank bodies with no proactive abilities. Move abilities are only so useful. Doesn't help that Unleash the Djinn isn't available to us (at least for now) which would have been immensely useful for the swarm build. Hopefully it comes together though.

While I know this is not how it works, as it is glory points that decide who gets Toshi Ranbo, but had it been that hatamotos got to vote using the clans glory points then it would have been fun if a coalition of clans banded together to make sure neither Crab nor Scorpion gets it.
Maybe the Dragon, as we can should be able to keep the peace without any ulterior motives.
But as said, that would have just been a fun things.

As for the Dragons choice in role; I don't see much of a point in it. Sure we have Seeker of Fire and making sure the Phoenix doesn't grow too strong is smart, but I would rather see the Dragon make ourself stronger rather than lock ourself into a bad role just to push someone else down. Such dishonorable action is for other clans.

I mean I would expect that, so I figure that's too easy and they'll get a Tanuki or something.

It'll be somewhere in Elements Unbound. The preview article for that pack mentions three creatures being in it, but only showed the Kenku and Zokujin.

Know what you CAN gain, though? The experience of figuring out how to come back from a Turn 1 AssCrab Combo. Because it's possible. And if you don't learn how to handle that, than you're not going to grow as a player.

It's a shame that you're leaving, man. I've run into similar situations as the one you've described, learned from them, got better as a player. Ultimately practice games are nothing but a means to gathering data, and bad play is just as important as good - hopefully I don't replicate the same mistakes in competitive play, but I certainly make my share of bone-headed plays, especially during long draining events.

Taking part in competitive play is part challenging yourself, part gaining experience and getting better as a player, and part just socializing and making new friends. I think you're missing out on a lot by giving that up, and I hope you eventually return to the game.

I do have a single copy of WotCh in my list.  I'm not a fan of the all in honor approach, but, I like for it to be an option and to give my opponent something to think about when they read my decklist and I pass my dynasty with 2 or more open fate.

I was hoping that by latching onto a clan that it would inspire the loyalist to petition FFG to release Shadowlands cards sooner.......to get rid of me.
    Looks like I ........
    Wait for it........

You're getting us confused. Brad's the guy who does things for the good of the game. I'm the one who tries to infiltrate the Scorpion Clan while wearing a Spider hockey jersey.
Also, the comment was intended more to reflect the current state of panic in AGoT, but I like how you think

Way of the "I'll gain 6-10 honor and then lose because I have 4 cards in hand to my opponent's 8 and they will simply swing for air every turn."
Way of the "Oh that's right I'm fighting scorpion."
Way of the "Oh, you bid one as well... guess I have a dead card in hand."
Way of the "I could have been playing Lion honor, at least that deck does things."
Way of the "Oh ****, I didn't see that Goblin Sneak coming."
Way of the "Where are my Yurts, curse these 40 card decks!"
Way of the "Ok, I gained 8, now what?"

Again, I'd like to point out that this should not be played as a "combo" deck.
Yurt provides value outside of the combo, as do Rebuild and WotCh.  You only want 3 copies of Yurt and a singleton copy of WotCh.  Rebuild is fine at 2 but if you end up with extra space in your deck, the 3rd copy is not a bad card.  Getting back a Favorable Ground at the right time can be just as important as trying to go for the combo.
The point is to never be actively pursuing the combo.  You don't mulligan for it.  If you have any pieces of the combo in your opening flips you replace them because you really want to be playing straight up.  Use the extra honor gain as a buffer to play your cards that cause you honor loss.  Use Yamino to pitch stray combo pieces.
There may or may not be a time in which you can pull it off and if you do, great, but, it's not something to aim for.  For example, last game I played with these cards I had alrqdy played an Assassination, used the Yurt to climb back to around 9 honor and had my Spyglass in play, so I wasn't going to start falling behind on cards.  I wanted to start pressuring my opponent's honor to try and cut off their hand, but they had been pretty conservative with bidding so it didn't feel right.  I went with a 2 bid, he did 3.  Turn proceeded Air ring had a couple fate on it so I went after it being very vocal that I wanted that fate to keep trying to fate starve him.  Win the battle, stole 1 honor, but didn't break.  Then because his hand was dipping low I went after Earth to entice a high bid from him on the following turn.  Got Earth and left him with only 2 cards in hand to my 6 and ended the turn at 13 honor after having some honored people die.
I was now at 13 honor, his honor was now 9 and he was down on cards with me building a board so this is were I felt the low bid would work and he went for 5, I bid one played WotCh to gain 8 and went after Air as first player, got it, took 2 honor, then played Rebuild for the win.
At one point in the game I was as low as 5 honor and then in the span of a couple turns I hit 25.  So it's quite possible, as long as you aren't forcing it.

If your opponent sees two Yurts and doesn't bid one, they deserve what they get.

That was the plan for me, but, now I wonder if having so many 5 drops is a good idea as Juro is not really great for winning a conflict when you need raw stats.  Horde still fills that role better for their cost.
Luckily it will take very little tweaking as the Unicorn decks I am running are pretty much dialed in, but all of them had 2-3 slots that we're just filler.  Juro is an easy substitute to make.  Opinions about how he stacks up to other 5 drops is irrelevant when he's easily better than a good majority of the Unicorn cards.  No matter where you or I rank him he's not one of the worst 37 cards Unicorn can run
