Big k got a reaction from Green Knight in Rebel Long Range Build?
I agree with this... absolutely devastating up close. I ran the Torpedo Frigate, got it up close to an Imperial Onager tearit a new one. Reduced it to 1 hull before going down. The key is getting it there to the key target knowing it will 100% die, but it's going to make a mess before it goes.

Big k got a reaction from thestag in Will SWL 79 be another rebel Wookie unit?
It would be nice if they didn't just keep giving Clones better versions of Rebel gear. They already have a better ATRT, would get annoying if that started to be the same for other units like Wookies.

Big k got a reaction from Rokian in Vets heavy weapon and T-47 over priced
I disagree, a drastic points cost does make it more effective. It alows players the ability to take it and have more points for other units to support it.

If he can walk straight up the middle and assault you with Stormtroopers you are certainly doing many things wrong for sure

Big k got a reaction from Dalae in Need help with Rebel lists
The jet rockets are great, even against troops. Blast, surge to hit and you'll usually get all to hit, a tank is a sweater target for sure, but 3/4 or 7/8 red dice coming at anything turn one with a great chance for all to hit, ignore cover, even a cocky Commander in line of sight is gonna have a bad turn 1

Big k got a reaction from BenBot in Sabine or Chewie in Skirmish?
Ok so to update on this...
Have been running Luke and Sabine. List is below
Luke with Saber Throw
Sabine with Darsaber and Shield
Vets with extra vet and recon intel
Vet Machine Gun
ATRT with Rotary Cannon.
Have just added the ATRT and will be trying it out tomorrow night. Have had a sniper or saboteur in there with more upgrades on Luke anc Sabine. Had varied success with the sniper and saboteur. Dropped the upgrades I haven't used once in 5 games. May load the ATRT out with a flamethrower instead. It'd give me another close quarters heavy hitter, 5 dice vs a possible 11 against froids and 8 against other armies with no cover. Range 1 is the only killer, but have found things get up close and personal very quickly.

Big k got a reaction from Rodafowa in 2.0 - all who are leaving
I imagine because in 2.0 you actually have learn some tactics it's just a case of picking the strongest Rebel or Scum list and winning without skill.
The best thing about 2.0 is everyone is on a level playing field and it takes a little skillto win consistently

Big k got a reaction from skotothalamos in 2.0 - all who are leaving
Haha
I own every rebel ship, mostly 2 of each. I own alot of imperial ships, as in 8 Interceptors, 10 tie fighters, 5 strikers, 3 punishers, 4 defenders, 5 first order tie fighters.... i could go on.... and on....
Editions change, and in most part for the better. The cost of this change pails in comparison to the cost of my jump from 7th to 8th ed in 40k. To raise the falcon in this is just dumb, if it was still first ed were they going to give it away? They only charging for the new falcon because it's 2.0?
The best thing about 2.0 is tge app, they can adjust it on a regular basis with points and slots on ships. It has an unlimted shelf life. Fiest ed is dead, anyone staying with it will be left behind with no new rules or ships.

Big k got a reaction from VanderLegion in X Wing 2.0, the most expensive version change for a miniature game in the history of gaming?
Try playing 40k, swapping to 8th ed has cost me $420 roughly in just books alone for one faction... ONE faction. X Wing will cost me less than that for 4 factions.

Big k got a reaction from D.Erasmus in X Wing 2.0, the most expensive version change for a miniature game in the history of gaming?
I fail to see this... to play my Chaos 40k army in 8th Ed I have had to purchase
Core Rulebook
Chaos Marines Codex
Chaos Daemons Codex
Chaos Index
Forgeworld Chaos Index
Chapter Approved Supplement
Chaos Marines Data Cards
Chaod Daemons Data Cards
Tactical Objective Cards
Open War Cards
Atleast $500 worth of thanks for coming in a single edition change for a single army. Would be another $200 - $300 if I looked at the Nurgle, Khorne and thousand sons side of my army.
X wing I'll be up for around $400 at most... not even close.

Big k reacted to Vontoothskie in Ship numbers
Pretty sure the point limit and costs were just doubled to give more room flexibility. i assume we'll only see a few major role changes for ships, like maybe the hwk290 or Quadjumper being cheaper by comparison to 1.0 so they are more appetizing add ons to a list.
3 to 8 ships was the norm until the large base ships got too good, so the designers are probably pushing back that way. the falcon should kick teeth in, but it would be cool to see it at 120 points balanced against 4 tie fighters for example. we just have to wait and find out though

Big k got a reaction from Vontoothskie in Ship numbers
Not sure if this has been discussed or not, but what do people think will be common in 2.0?
Having watched the video where it was 200 points and 5 vs 4, we've seen a 60 point Wedge build and a few other bits and pieces... so are we going to see people commonly taking 3 bad **** expensive aces, decked out large base ships......
I would like to think we'll see a huge variety of builds with 4 ship builds being the norm. Swarms will return, we'll see 3 decked ace builds, 5 ship builds... But I get the feeling 4 ships could be the new black

Big k got a reaction from Boom Owl in Best List Archetypes for Agressive Flying?
I fly this with great success...
Quickdraw - Veteran Instincts, Fire Control System, Lightweight Frame and thd Title
Backdraft - Veteran Instincts, Fire Control System, Lightweight Frame and thd Title
Inquisitor- Title, Autothrusters, Proton Rockets, and Push the limit.
I like this list because I can be super aggressive with the two Special Forces ships and the Inquisitor can punish something with thd Prockets if it gets to close.
