    Well, it doesn't...

Snipe allows you to Attack at Distance 2.

    That is all it does.

All of the Normal Rules for Attacking still apply.

    However.

It is actually the FAQ that states, if you elect to Attack Squadrons, you do not have to attack a Squadron you are Engaged with...  You could attack any Enemy Squadron that was at Range 1.  Even if you are Engaged by a different squadron.

    So the Snipe applies there.

The only thing that is going to stop you from using Snipe at a Range 2 Target, is if you have an Escort at Range 1 to shoot at.

Kovi reacted to Snipafist in Wish the rebels had a better carrier.
Rebels have 3 ships that can run Flight Commander+Fighter Coordination Team well (HMC80, Neb-B, Pelta) and Imperials have zero (sorry @Drasnighta I love you man but I'm not convinced at all about Interdictor carriers).

Rebels overall can command more total muscle of squadrons for each squadron point due to Rebel squadrons being heavier in general.

Rebels get access to two-dice bombers (B-Wings) at a reasonable cost.

Rebels have tech to get more mileage out of individual squadrons (Yavaris and Adar Tallon).

Rebels have access to All Fighters Follow Me on their most dedicated carrier ship. If they don't want that, they can use Entrapment Formation for their whole fleet to get speed changes while still commanding squadrons.

Rebels have the cheapest flotilla, giving them backup carriers at a discount.

You'll have to forgive me if my heart doesn't go out to you because your Flight Controllers ship is "only" Squadrons 3 and can go up to Squadrons 4 with Expanded Hangar Bays and also offers the best defensive squadron title in the game.

Agreed. I haven't seem them yet and always assumed they would be shaped to fit over a city space. Very strange decision. Feels like they missed an opportunity here.
Obviously this isn't a deal breaker but it still breaks my near OCD heart..

I'm not sure if I'll ever play 2 Qasars, but I'm considering buying another for the cards (more disposable capacitor to trade for external racks with a friend and an additionnal Quad Battery turret).
I have only played one game with the Qasar yet and he has over performed his role. He survived much longer than he should had due to multiple factors. I'm eager to try to again, but I feel that running two plus 8-10 squads would seriously gimp out the list's ship offensive ability or activation count. Perhaps it could work as a 3 activation list with an avenger ISD gunnery team with Sloane...

I agree with this. Jendon + Steele is just insane. It does an incredible job on either squadrons the protect to ball a few rounds or throws 2 blue dice twice (2 garantee crits with Steele) on ships. And we're not even talking about the relay advantage here.

A ship dedicated to fight squadrons would be nice to have on either side. The raider with flechettes is as close as we have at the moment.
But perhaps an offensive upgrade that let us count crits as hits against squadrons would be enough rather than an entire ship that would serve that purpose..

    1.  Love the game, been playing over a year now.  I have tremendous respect for the developers having dabbled in some game design or rather, design modifications, I know it's difficult to make a game with different factions that are balanced but have their own flavor.
    2.  No, I'm not trolling, I truly believe this.  However, I won't have much time to respond to the posts that follow so I humbly ask for objective arguments (for or against) with humor and sarcasm clearly marked.  I'll get back when I can.
    3.  To my mates reading this:  STOP ROLLING YOUR EYES!  Hahahaha
    4.  I'm Imp biased.  I play the evil Empire because I like triangles!

There's a disturbance in the force:  the developers are Rebel sympathizers!  I've found glitches in the Matrix to prove it lol.  Yes, Imps have ISDs, Demo and Rhymer but the Rebs have soooo much synergy between ships and upgrades and squadrons … I think the recent threads covering Worlds and the mayhem the ensued prove that point.  But allow me to expound.
The most recent FAQ has some interesting developments.  Concerning CC, the Inderdictor gets slightly nerfed whilst the Rebs have a major rule errata to their hyperlane raid.  The Rebs seem to do one every round now.  It's interesting that Pelta fleet buffs and Rieekan zombyism extends beyond their departure from the battlefield but if Motti goes away, so does his effect.  Why a double standard?
Ships:  how did the Rebel fleet, a ragtag conglomeration of bubbas and bubbaettes end up with 2 large based ships with different but awesome capabilities?  That's a game design thing I know.  But the average price for ship titles is lower  for the Rebs than for the Imps.  Additionally, Reb ships have some real advantages.  TRC was made for CR90 (or the other way around) whilst Imps have no real equivalent.  MC30???  The ship I hat the most.  How does a ship with no red dice end up with a turbolaser slot?!?!?!  Transports:  cheaper and more maneuverable than the Goz to give the Rebs less of a tax to add BCC or Comms Net or just carrier activations.  The Pelta provides multiple fleetwide buffs over the whole board whilst the Interdictor has a few tricks but is too expensive to be useful.   VSDs are too expensive as are Raiders that usually go pop in one shot (no redirect?!?!).  Though more subjective, I'd argue Reb titles are more useful than Imp titles.
Squadrons are off the hook.  While the Imps have the market on swarm, relay, counter, and cloak (defective from release) the Rebs corner the market on most everything else.  Did you know Rebs have 22 bombers (including aces and elites) whilst Imps only have 8?  The Imps have more heavy squadrons than do the Rebs.  Why aren't the YTs heavy?  They're the space equivalent of a Peterbilt.  The Rebs have more rogues with Hera who give any other squad rogue.  How did the decimator not receive a bomber keyword?  Why has Vader not been changed to include rogue keyword?  Why isn't the TIE fighter 6 points?  Aren't they supposed to outnumber XW 2:1?  Why is a BW ace only 3 more points than a TF ace?  Would you rather have a HWK or a jumpmaster?  HWK cuz it has counter2.  Then Reb aces have synergy and work alone really well whereas Imp aces tend to require a lot of other disparate squads to get one or two tricks to work.  I know that last statement is tremendously subjective.  So, gotta go to work.  Y'all have a great day and tell me if I'm crazy … but in a nice way LOL

Kovi got a reaction from Cusm in So, apparently, Rieekan is "broken" levels of OP. What fixes him?
Erratas doesn't force us to buy new and improved ships !
But seriously, removing squads from Rieekan's ability and not letting commanders be attached to flotillas would be a good start.
Or perhaps ignoring abilities and upgrades on anything that are destroyed but not still removed from play.

As much as I dislike Reeikan, I dislike erratas even more. I'd rather see a clever upgrade or anything that would counter him. I really like the Thrawn commander idea that would cancel out the opponent's commander. It would have to cost a fortune and may be broken as hell, but it would make for an interesting wilcard in the game. It would always add a risk to having a fleet heavily focused on the commander's ability.

Agreed for 450 pts. It doesn't add enough pts to bog down the game further with many more squadrons and might encourage to deploy large ships more often.
