Neelig and Khaine pretty much started at the same time.  Our destiny posts.

So, I'm assuming I use my discipline (GY) vs Brins Leadership (GGY) but flipped as a difficulty, so DDC  For the final result being 1eA+1eP+2eD+1eC?  For role playing purposes.

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish I suppose. It sounds like the check you're making is to resist Brin's attempt to rally rather than to resist going off hot-headedly on your own.

  2. Scanning the security feeds for anything of note, Brin can't make out any of the slavers or their captives at first glance. Although, that Zygerrian there... is he wearing an insignia of the Zygerrian royal caste?

"Hey guys... I don't think we're dealing with a local slaver ring here. We're gonna have to exercise a bit of caution if we want to do any good here today. Hey, does anybody have a pair of binders? Maybe we can put these on Neelig, and-"

Brin stops himself mid-sentence as he continues to watch the feed. Are his eyes playing tricks on him? There are so many Rodian slaves in the galaxy. But that thin frame... those blue scales... that has to be Dahj!

Some time elapses. Brin's mouth is dry, but he swallows the lump in his throat and forces out some words.

"A-alright... let's make sure we don't... endanger anyone's lives here when we-" He mostly watches the screen as he talks but slowly turns his head toward his friends.

    Wait where is everybody?

Brin runs out to the hatchway, confident that his team is ready to rush in and confront these atrocities. No, no, no! If I can't let them endanger Dahj's life!

"Everyone...! Hold up! If we rush in now, we could be endangering lives!"

Brin does his best to rally everybody. If we work together, we can definitely rescue these slaves! I'm coming for you, Dahj. I won't leave you behind again!

Going third (fourth?) person here, I don't think aggressive negotiations will work, unless you mean in the Clone Wars sense. If so, lock and load.

You got 15 obligation for leaving him fate relatively unknown. You leave 5 of us to this and your obligation goes through the roof. That said, if this were Tox in your situation, it would be a tough call as well. I don't envy your predicament.

Knowing that I can't act on any of this, and knowing Tox knows none of this, she is ready to roll if anyone else is.

lol yes i meant in the clone wars sense XD

  4. I'm gonna wait for whoever is rolling to keep calm before I pull on this thread ;__;

I'm just 'thinking out loud' as it were, but the more I think about it, the more I think Brin would try to facilitate the release of all of these captives including Dahj, and not reveal to Dahj that he was here if possible. He doesn't feel like he deserves to see him yet. So I'll probably try to push things forward to that end. Brin is also very invested in freeing these slaves now, but might not tell the crew about Dahj, or even that he knows anybody here. He's gonna keep that **** internal. Apply setbacks or strain as need be, GM. Do your worst!

... You still dont recognize any of the Zygerrians specifically.  No one there is important enough for you to have specific knowelege of.  What you do recognize is the insignia on the clothing of newcomer (the guy asking for fresh stock)

He is a member of the royal cast within the Zygerrian slave monarchy.  That means to Brin that this is no small time slave operation.  The Royal cast only involves themselves when the slaves number in the tens of thousands.

You do recognize one figure chained to the back of a cargo pod though.  It's Dahj.

    D:

    Actual jaw drop.

    Did not see coming.

Not sure what to do next.

I feel like I have to roll some kind of cool check to keep my **** together. I want to communicate to everybody what I know about the Zygerrian slave monarchy, and I want to start thinking to myself about how to get Dahj out of there, but I think I'm as shocked as Brin is. Still processing this!!!

Aggressively negotiate the release of all the slaves including Dahj...? Or act selfishly and try to free only Dahj... at the cost of my new team's safety... can't fall into old patterns.....

    Oh, GM, you rascal.

Tox is also the only female in the group, so she could be sold out as well. I thought about that too. But I don't know how I feel about actually doing it.

Yea I was worried that would sound super skeezy, but Brin's first impulse is never to jump in guns blazing, so he's going to want to rally everyone and make a plan... even if that plan goes to hell in short order, as is the nature of Star Wars ;)

  7. Just throwing it out there, we can pull a 'chewbacca on the death star' and pretend to sell Neelig to them if they're interested in hammerheads just to gain some leverage or to get closer to someone important that we can use as leverage. Assuming everybody here regards slavery as quite heinous and we're all itching to act. This idea may change based on what @Ryoden says about the underworld check.

Right sorry, not intentionally ignoring the question.  It would a Daunting difficulty for you to recognize and  know specific Zygerrians you see on the feed.

Haha that's cool. I don't exactly expect results, it just seemed like a sensible and natural move to make if we're looking at the feeds.

    Underworld Knowledge: 1eA+1eP+4eD 3 successes, 5 threat
    a-s-s.pngp-s-a.pngd-th-th.pngd-th.pngd-th.pngd-th-th.png

    OKAY UHHH

........... Didn't expect to recognize anybody....... And all that threat... Is there someone really dangerous here or somebody that one of us knows?? What does it all mean?? XD XD XD

Then, Neelig is going to furiously rage for a bit while rushing to the airlock, booming for the others to open the airlock or he will. He will have his staff in hand.

May I also roll to figure out if Neelig knew the Ithorian on screen specifically? I mean, they are most likely apart of his herd...but its a BIG herd.

Woah woah XD at that Brin will definitely attempt a leadership check to calm Neelig down while we figure out what we're gonna do here! XD

also still wondering if we can attempt to recognize anyone in the feeds using underworld (not sure if you answered)

  10. Outside the ship, where Tox is digging out the access hatch, Brin gazes at the landscape of the valley and at the sky above.

It's so quiet. I'm not used to this silence.

The presence of the worms they had encountered earlier has got Brin concerned about the state of the abandoned ship they're about to explore further. Is it possible they've built a nest here?

Not willing to put his friend's lives in danger, he volunteered to explore the inner bowels of the ship with Tox. Not the most ponderous individual, Brin's unruly inner dialogue typically keeps him from thinking too hard or too deeply about anything in particular. He likes it that way. Keep things simple. Keep friends safe.

    Don't let anyone in.

In the silence of the valley, Brin's thoughts wander deeper than usual. If Dahj is still alive... I wonder what he's doing right now... Ah, shoot.

Brin finds himself thinking about his old partner. That wasn't part of the plan. Thinking it's time to look for a distraction, he recommits himself to the task of watching Tox's back while she does the heavy lifting.  There are important things happening right now. No reason to dwell on the past.

I can live with all of those rulings. Are we at a point we can spend XP with justification?

I  was actually wondering if we should justify where we spend our XP. I'm not planning on doing anything crazy, but it's good to know in advance so we can make plans for our characters. I do intend to explore Gunslinger eventually.

No, no check.  It is simple enough to do and you are not exactly stressed out right now.  You will be able to haul it back to the YT to work on.

By the time you get back Tox Neelig and Brin will have finished clearing out the hatchway.  And Fzaexx and Khaine will start getting some info from the sensor station.

Everyone please get IC posts in soon.  I am hereby ending chapter two and starting chapter three.

    Whoo! Exciting! Congrats, everyone ^_~

    Looking forward to what's next!

Considering our group consists of 4 beatsticks and 2 faces, I don't think there's any "tech heads" to ask anything to. Lol

I assume I don't spot a manifest (or anything else useful) with my 3 advantage from looking around in the cockpit. Fzaexx suggests simply opening the emergency hatch, even if it means venting part of the ship. Since it has power an emergency hatch further in might shut to prevent total depressurization. Once we're through the cockpit one we can close it and work on getting it repressurized from inside the ship.

lol, well ... Khaine is mechanically inclined. I didn't want to look through everyone's stats at that moment to see who else might be, so I kept it broad XD
