  1. It depends on what you're trying to accomplish I suppose. It sounds like the check you're making is to resist Brin's attempt to rally rather than to resist going off hot-headedly on your own.
  2. Posted IC, hope that helps to provide some context.
  3. Scanning the security feeds for anything of note, Brin can't make out any of the slavers or their captives at first glance. Although, that Zygerrian there... is he wearing an insignia of the Zygerrian royal caste? "Hey guys... I don't think we're dealing with a local slaver ring here. We're gonna have to exercise a bit of caution if we want to do any good here today. Hey, does anybody have a pair of binders? Maybe we can put these on Neelig, and-" Brin stops himself mid-sentence as he continues to watch the feed. Are his eyes playing tricks on him? There are so many Rodian slaves in the galaxy. But that thin frame... those blue scales... that has to be Dahj! Some time elapses. Brin's mouth is dry, but he swallows the lump in his throat and forces out some words. "A-alright... let's make sure we don't... endanger anyone's lives here when we-" He mostly watches the screen as he talks but slowly turns his head toward his friends. Wait where is everybody? Brin runs out to the hatchway, confident that his team is ready to rush in and confront these atrocities. No, no, no! If I can't let them endanger Dahj's life! "Everyone...! Hold up! If we rush in now, we could be endangering lives!" Brin does his best to rally everybody. If we work together, we can definitely rescue these slaves! I'm coming for you, Dahj. I won't leave you behind again!
  4. I have a quick question about the IC narrative. @Weedles and Fries @Ahrimon are Khaine and Neelig already at the entrance hatch? Who else is out there? If I'm making an attempt to rally everyone, is it happening out there? I'm just waiting for some clarity before I make a short IC post myself - for consistency's sake.
  5. I'm gonna wait for whoever is rolling to keep calm before I pull on this thread ;__; I'm just 'thinking out loud' as it were, but the more I think about it, the more I think Brin would try to facilitate the release of all of these captives including Dahj, and not reveal to Dahj that he was here if possible. He doesn't feel like he deserves to see him yet. So I'll probably try to push things forward to that end. Brin is also very invested in freeing these slaves now, but might not tell the crew about Dahj, or even that he knows anybody here. He's gonna keep that **** internal. Apply setbacks or strain as need be, GM. Do your worst!
  6. D: Actual jaw drop. Did not see coming. Not sure what to do next. I feel like I have to roll some kind of cool check to keep my **** together. I want to communicate to everybody what I know about the Zygerrian slave monarchy, and I want to start thinking to myself about how to get Dahj out of there, but I think I'm as shocked as Brin is. Still processing this!!! Aggressively negotiate the release of all the slaves including Dahj...? Or act selfishly and try to free only Dahj... at the cost of my new team's safety... can't fall into old patterns..... Oh, GM, you rascal.
  7. Yea I was worried that would sound super skeezy, but Brin's first impulse is never to jump in guns blazing, so he's going to want to rally everyone and make a plan... even if that plan goes to hell in short order, as is the nature of Star Wars
  8. Just throwing it out there, we can pull a 'chewbacca on the death star' and pretend to sell Neelig to them if they're interested in hammerheads just to gain some leverage or to get closer to someone important that we can use as leverage. Assuming everybody here regards slavery as quite heinous and we're all itching to act. This idea may change based on what @Ryoden says about the underworld check.
  9. Haha that's cool. I don't exactly expect results, it just seemed like a sensible and natural move to make if we're looking at the feeds. Underworld Knowledge: 1eA+1eP+4eD 3 successes, 5 threat OKAY UHHH ........... Didn't expect to recognize anybody....... And all that threat... Is there someone really dangerous here or somebody that one of us knows?? What does it all mean?? XD XD XD
  10. Also still wondering if we can attempt to recognize anyone in the feeds using Underworld knowledge ^_^;; I asked twice but you're facilitating a lot of decisions and checks so I didn't want to be pushy.
  11. Woah woah XD at that Brin will definitely attempt a leadership check to calm Neelig down while we figure out what we're gonna do here! XD also still wondering if we can attempt to recognize anyone in the feeds using underworld (not sure if you answered)
  12. Brin asks the group if they think this has been going on under the Imps noses... or if they think the Imps are in on it. Also wondering if we can use Underworld to recognize anybody in any of the feeds.
  13. Chapter 3 Destiny Roll: 1eF 1 Dark Side lol, every time
  14. 40 XP (15 from first session, 25 from second) 20 XP Gunslinger Specialization 5 XP Rapid Reaction 5 XP Quick Strike 10 XP Quick Strike
  15. In case it matters (you probably want us to spend XP before the session starts), I haven't spent any XP yet, nor from the first session (struggling with indecision, haha) I'll be sure to make and post any XP expenditures here before anything significant happens!
  16. I explored Brin's back story a little in my IC post, only cause I haven't really done so yet, and this lull in the action felt like a great place for it XD
  17. Outside the ship, where Tox is digging out the access hatch, Brin gazes at the landscape of the valley and at the sky above. It's so quiet. I'm not used to this silence. The presence of the worms they had encountered earlier has got Brin concerned about the state of the abandoned ship they're about to explore further. Is it possible they've built a nest here? Not willing to put his friend's lives in danger, he volunteered to explore the inner bowels of the ship with Tox. Not the most ponderous individual, Brin's unruly inner dialogue typically keeps him from thinking too hard or too deeply about anything in particular. He likes it that way. Keep things simple. Keep friends safe. Don't let anyone in. In the silence of the valley, Brin's thoughts wander deeper than usual. If Dahj is still alive... I wonder what he's doing right now... Ah, shoot. Brin finds himself thinking about his old partner. That wasn't part of the plan. Thinking it's time to look for a distraction, he recommits himself to the task of watching Tox's back while she does the heavy lifting. There are important things happening right now. No reason to dwell on the past.
  18. I was actually wondering if we should justify where we spend our XP. I'm not planning on doing anything crazy, but it's good to know in advance so we can make plans for our characters. I do intend to explore Gunslinger eventually.
  19. DAYUM May 4th gifts ;____; !! @Ryoden you just gave me an excellent idea for my players (I'm seeing them tonight, hahaha) As for obligation... was somebody's triggered...? I didn't notice XD Nevermind, I get what you were asking, ahaha, whoops.
  20. Whoo! Exciting! Congrats, everyone ^_~ Looking forward to what's next!
  21. I say give Fzaexx a hand. If things get hairy here, or we find more of those creatures, you'll be sure to hear our cries of anguish over the comms XD
  22. lol, well ... Khaine is mechanically inclined. I didn't want to look through everyone's stats at that moment to see who else might be, so I kept it broad XD
  23. Awesome ^^ When we're ready to move forward, I'll opt to move in with Tox and explore this entrance into the ship, weapon drawn.
