How much should we ask for to fund our venture? Or is that amount going to be set by @Ryoden ? Should we delay our negotiations while @Hinklemar deals with the Verpine? This is more or less happening at the same time, so the way I see it, he could inform us of any updates before or during our negotiations via comlink (we're both carrying one) as long as @Ryoden is okay with that.

I've started working on a fun little scenario for my players, and I thought it would help tons to get more ideas from everyone here! The premise: Prison Break. Each player is going to make a character who has been imprisoned in a restricted access Imperial labour camp on an unknown world. They're going to determine why they were imprisoned and (in true EoTE fashion) what baggage they're bringing with them. The goal of the scenario is to, between one and three sessions ideally, successfully make your way off the planet/moon and out of Imperial reach. I've thought of a fun little format for this game while the characters are imprisoned, but mostly I just want to make sure I have a proper amount of good hooks and leads to intrigue and encourage the players to break free from captivity. So, on to the hooks! Rumours that some NPC or another is working on or knows of a way out of the prison that leads through a 'dungeon' (sewer system, old maintenance tunnel, etc) Opportunities for escape during work detail Longterm prisoners in the know may be familiar with guard schedules Taking advantage of a naive guard who offers the players more liberties when they are on duty Discovering access to a central security terminal Inciting a prison riot Post-prison gameplay challenges involve things like surviving in the wild with minimal resources, determining what planet they're on, finding a spaceport, arranging transportation, dodging Imperial capture, etc. Anyway, I'm pretty excited to run this ^^. Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Nothing is set in stone and I am all ears!

With that in mind, I probably won't use Destiny for my check unless it's terribly difficult ^^;

For negotiations, if I do the check, I may upgrade with destiny if nobody minds -- just to really lock down our funding ;D

If we can discuss our terms and agree on what we're requesting, I can handle the negotiation!

Once they've introduced themselves, Brin casually enters Aramhi's home, walking closely behind Neelig. With one hand in his pocket, and the other stroking his beard, he looks around at the modest luxuries of Aramhi Montai's dwelling, admiring the lifestyle the well-dressed Gossam must enjoy. "This is quite the place you have here", Brin comments while taking the seat offered by their host. Aramhi looks up briefly toward the black-furred Bothan before leaving the room. Not a moment later, their host returns carrying a serving tray with empty cups and a generously sized vessel filled with some sort of tea. A fresh and fruity aroma fills the room, the sort that Neelig and Brin don't experience often back at the scrapyard. Oh, I could get used to this, Brin thinks to himself. Aramhi sets the tray down at a small table in front of Brin and Neelig. As he reaches out toward the tea-filled vessel ready to serve his guests, Brin stands up, making a motion with his hands for Aramhi to remain seated. "Please! Allow me!" Aramhi reluctantly takes a seat and watches Brin as he pours tea into the three cups sitting atop the serving tray. Handing one to their host, and the other to his ally, Brin takes the third cup, raises it slightly toward Aramhi and, wearing a soft smile, exclaims "to our host!" Having developed a taste for the finer things that he never seems to be able to afford, Brin greedily gulps down the luxurious drink. Audibly refreshed by the warm treat, he compliments their host once more on his tastes. They engage in some pleasant small talk while Brin pours another round of drinks and swallows his second cup in one gulp - more greedily than he did the first in fact. I've got to find out what this is! "Your associate's manners are quite refreshing in this smuggler's haven, my old friend", Aramhi chuckles to Neelig. "And his taste for the finer things may rival my own. Although I suspect from the way you inhaled your drink thusly without a mind to savour its nuances, Mr.Baxler, that you may lack the finances to afford the fineries that you enjoy so. That's what brings you to me, I suspect. No, no! Don't fret, my old friend. I rather like your associate, and I am as ever fond of you as I have been. Why don't we talk business?"

I was just thinking when it comes to 'voting' and 'permission', unless somebody has something in particular to say, we can use 'likes' as a sort of confirmation. To not congest the thread too much.

Could I use my Congenial talent to suffer 1 strain and downgrade the difficulty to +2eD?

Brin is going to graciously accept the hot drink set out by their Gossam host. He lets @Weedles and Fries Neelig take the lead in answering Aramhi's question, making sure to be his best charming self for their host. Can I make some sort of check, charm or otherwise, to compliment Aramhi on his dwelling in an attempt to soften his stance during negotiations?

Well, I suppose Brin will just pour himself a drink and put his feet up in the meantime. He's somewhat content to let his allies do all the work, hahaha.

Sounds like a great plan. I'm sure they'll love us. Hutts are known for their warm temperaments, right? Can we do a streetwise check to determine if we have any contacts who can get us an audience?

Woo, it's rough walking into an RP that's already in session! I think I'm all caught up with all the posts, and my character sheet is all ready to go (Brin Baxler, Bothan Smuggler, Charmer and consummate liar) Below is my destiny roll (sorry, guys!) Also, I'm gonna follow @Ryoden 's lead and like posts to indicate that I've read them (I know it's more important for a GM, but it doesn't hurt, right?) Initial Force Roll: 1eF 1 Dark Side I'm looking for a good place to chime in, but I'm mostly observing the flow ^_^; @Mattimeo84 , if you're looking for someone to speak to the local Hutt, Brin has a bit of a silver tongue himself so I could join you in that venture. Say... how do you mention someone in a post anyway...?

Also, if we're still discussing ships we'd like to find out there, I'd also throw my vote in with the C-Roc ;P

Thanks, guys! After looking over everything, I'm gonna go with my Bothan Thief/Gunslinger idea. Brin Baxler, smuggler by trade. A streetwise, smooth talking Bothan with quick fingers. I'm going to draft something up while I'm at work to this effect. My intention is to compliment the current party's abilities and to fill in a few gaps in our skill sets. I love leaning toward social skills and environmental skills (leadership, deception, etc), but any good smuggler knows the value of self-defense... thus the Gunslinging I'm also not sold on the gunslinging yet, I may lean toward some piloting skills, as the lot of you all seem quite capable in combat. Open to suggestions. Man, I'm excited to get started! I guess I'll just PM you Ryoden with the details as we work them out?

Hi everyone! Thanks for inviting me to your pbp ^^ I'm a GM for a couple of games of EoTE IRL but this will be my first time doing anything like this on a forum! (And my first time ACTUALLY PLAYING believe it or not) I'll be taking the time to read through the IC and OOC threads throughout the day to get myself caught up with the rest of you, but I wanted to introduce myself in the meantime! My first instinct was to play a seldom-spoken bodyguard, either human or droid, ex-Imperial, trying to distance himself from the war. After a quick glance at the PCs involved though, I'm thinking of a Bothan Thief/Gunslinger. If anyone has any recommendations, I'm all ears!

Edit : ignore all this, I saw that your game is full XD I'm relatively new to tabletop RPGs (about a year and a half). I play in a friend's D&D campaign, and am the dedicated GM of an EoTE campaign. I reeeeally want to play EoTE myself though too! I've never done a play by post rp, but I'm really excited to give it a try if you're still looking for players. The PC I'm thinking of is an ex-imperial bodyguard looking to get away from the civil war on the outskirts of the Galaxy. i could personally post with fairly high frequency, as I always keep my phone with me... And my job is fairly permissive of that kind of thing, hahaha.
