  1. My wife and I used some Star Wars wrapping paper this Christmas. Her mom points to one of the presents and says: "It's a gorilla or somethin'. From Star Wars. Fu Chu." Yep. Saviors of the Galaxy: Luke, Han, Leia, and Fu Chu. Why no medal for Fu Chu??
  2. Three things, if you count his pilot ability.
  3. In practice scenarios with a partner, or in solo practice, you could just forego rolling dice and just always take the average results, or (depending on your specific purpose in practicing) always give the other guy slightly better than average results while you take slightly less than average results. Or whatever
  4. As if the Gunboat weren't doing enough as the Savior already: is it possible they could bring down the intensity of the PS war?
  5. There is a fresh feeling to the game among the regulars at my FLGS, as well as some new players. X-Wing is in happy times, I think.
  6. First Order Ace Fighters (99) It's a gimmick list to try to get Omega Ace to spit out 4 crits. Not just all First Order: all First Order TIE Fighters! "Omega Ace" — TIE/fo Fighter 20 Swarm Leader 3 Advanced Optics 2 Ship Total: 25 "Epsilon Ace" — TIE/fo Fighter 17 Targeting Synchronizer 3 Ship Total: 20 Omega Squadron Pilot — TIE/fo Fighter 17 Draw Their Fire 1 Advanced Optics 2 Ship Total: 20 Epsilon Squadron Pilot — TIE/fo Fighter 15 Advanced Optics 2 Ship Total: 17 Epsilon Squadron Pilot — TIE/fo Fighter 15 Advanced Optics 2 Ship Total: 17
  7. Some have tried sticking a shuttlebug in there with those two. They are cheap, and kinda neat.
  8. I think it's fun (although not worth it!) to fly Ten with Veteran Instincts (Or Deadeye), Ion Torpedoes, and Guidance Chips. Along with Lt. Blount, this is another way to guarantee that an ordinance effect sticks.
  9. There may be some troubles and imbalances in the game - but I think it's in the best state it has ever been since I started playing. I love the variety of squad archetypes that it's possible to fly well. Are there cool pilots that I wish were competitive but just aren't? Sure, but there's a lot of fun stuff that is competitive.
  10. R7-T1 is a neat trick on Norra with Intensity. She gets a Boost + Target Lock + Focus/Evade from one action. That's fun!
  11. Man, t C'mon FFG, how about something new?!
  12. The keyboard commands become second nature after a few hundred flight hours. I always remember to set my laser cannon recharge rate to 3/4 , and my shield recharge rate to zero, then syphon all laser energy to shields. Keep this up and after a few minutes the shields and lasers will both be supercharged, all while giving the engine 12.5% more power than it normally has. You know, practical, real-life skills.
  13. I'd be "Everybody Calm Down, Let's Think About This".
  14. The thing I like about looking at the cut of that tournament is how few turrets there are. Unless you count Auzitucks and Lancers. But even if you do count them as turrets, it's less than has been the case.
  15. I have been flying a similar list. It's bananas. Like, crazy good: Sheathipede-class Shuttle: •Ezra Bridger (23) Pulsed Ray Shield (2) Wired (1) •Hera Syndulla (1) •R3-A2 (2) Y-Wing: Gold Squadron Pilot (24) BTL-A4 Y-wing (0) Ion Cannon Turret (5) Flight-Assist Astromech (1) Y-Wing: Gold Squadron Pilot (24) BTL-A4 Y-wing (0) Ion Cannon Turret (5) Flight-Assist Astromech (1) Auzituck Gunship: Kashyyyk Defender (29) Operations Specialist (3) Tactician (2) Total: 100/100
  16. I think the official term is "ship tile".
  17. @DampfGecko The only thing we have to go on regarding the intention of the designers here is the text on the card. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable saying they had some intention other than what's actually on there.
  18. While I was driving to the store, I did have the thought, "You know, people might want to get some of this for me as a gift" . "Sure," I replied to myself, "but then I'd need to wait a few more weeks, and that just won't do."
  19. It sounds like you're mocking a religion which many people believe in very strongly.
  20. One thousand times this. The wording does need to be done carefully, however. We don't want Wes able to remove any token. If he could do that, he might decide to remove a shield token. Also, Electronic Baffles should be updated to work on Jam tokens.
  21. It's smallbig. Like the flying cockroaches of Florida and the Southeast known as Waterbugs. Smallbig - like overall it's small: you can hold it in your hand. But big, like whoah.
  22. I get what you mean. From a certain point of view it's easy to say that the victim cannot chose the option of removing tokens, because you cannot perform the verb of removing on a non-entity. There are plenty of cases in real life and (more relevantly) in X-Wing where zero is the number of something. In the history of philosophy, the idea of zero has confounded people, and it will continue to do so, I'm sure. I'm going to quote myself from earlier in the thread here: "What if a pilot had an ability that, when triggered, caused an enemy to remove all focus and evade tokens?" Imagine that scenario. If the opponent had no tokens to remove, we just move along, right? I read Torani Kulda's ability in a similar way. Or rather, I read one branch of his two-part ability in that way. His ability, when triggered forces the enemy to select which branch. Once the branch is selected, that effect is applied. There are no conditions, criteria, or prerequisites in the card text which force the victim to choose one branch over the other. If it feels like the ship got off the hook and suffered no negative effect from Torani's pilot ability, then so be it. Many pilot abilities have conditions under which they provide no benefit.
  23. My first impression is that I have a lot of binder re-organizing to do. Also, Ezra Stressbug + Auzi with Tactician/Ops Spec + 2 Y-Wings with Ion/BTL-A4/Flight Assist Astromechs is a lot of control. Very fun!
  24. Wow, I think that is a really creative idea for a list. I think that Chewbacca is really nice. I think the first version would be more fun to fly, but I'd worry that Chewie's wingmates would die too easily and Chewbacca would struggle on his own. Lowhhrick keeps Chewbacca in the game longer one way or another. I think it's worth putting in some practice to see how it goes.
