  1. I am interested to see how A-Wings come out in the conversion. They're in a tight spot: gotta be better abd pricier than a TIE,but cheaper than an X-Wing, and somehow find a non-missile based niche that makes them worth taking but not overpowered. Tough spot.

And know you can put ACTUAL EPTS on her!

And (probably?) a Gunner upgrade. Unless those are strictly for ships with turrets or auxiliary arcs (as possibly evidenced by Veteran Tail Gunner / Veteran Turret Gunner & Luke Skywalker). That thought makes me wonder what sorts of effects Gunner upgrades might have when and if they have been designed for primary-arc only ships.

  3. I am a teacher with a free period during the time this unboxing starts. Excitement!

    1) I'm Johnny 5 right now "Need input!"

    2) Quick Build Cards = my locals and I can begin playing immediately. Pick a threat level > add together cards to a total equal to that threat level (or DRAFT them!) > play >  enjoy X-Wing Life.

In my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking at this matter in a different way and without fighting and by trying to make it clear, and by considering each and everybody's opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say.

Well Linked actions aren’t declared as the pair,

That's what I would assume. Are you basing that on how it looked like it was being played in one of the recorded games or did you hear or read something more concrete?

  6. Another question I ponder: if a ship has Wounded Pilot and attempts a linked action, does the roll for stress happen for both actions? If the damage card applies stress on the first, is the second action now impossible due to stress? If it only rolled into stress on the second action, the ship is now double stressed. I think having the technical rules for linked actions will make this clear, but my guess is 'yes' for both of my questions.

  7. I like that Console Fire goes off before you engage rather than at the start of the Engagement Phase. Even if you're doomed, you're still around to be shot or use abilities until your Initiative comes around.

Looking at the upgrade icon on Sense, that does appear to a separate upgrade slot from Talents.

That's right. The "meant to be covered" left half of upgrade cards display the requirements for equipping the card. "Sense" displays a Force token, meaning that only ships with a Force stat can equip the card (what about ships that gain the Force stat due to a crew upgrade?), or only those with the Force Talent (?) upgrade icon. This means that Force-wielding pilots could have both a Talent and a Force Talent (not sure on the name). Some pilots might have a Force Talent slot & a regular Talent slot, some may just have the Force Talent slot. This is another example of good design space through good categorization.

  9. My hope is the K-2SO will be a pilot and possibly a crew in the base U-Wing (i.e., included in the Conversion Kit), seeing as he fits in more naturally as a mainstream Rebel Alliance figure than as one of Saw's Partisans, although the Rogue One crew do disobey orders and start a big fight with the Empire. If he's just in Saw's Renegades and not the Conversion Kit, so be it. If he's in neither I'll be disappointed, and FFG will have only one more chance in the foreseeable future to include him when the 2nd Edition U-Wing expansion is eventually released.

  10. I assumed the action of the bombs "dropping" out of the bomber (the bombs do not appear to have any means of self-propulsion) was the result of the artificial gravity on board the bomber, and this is effectively a "trajectory simulator". That's my in-universe explanation. The true explanation is closer to "let's film this in a way that makes it like WWII".

  11. I haven't checked the math, @Ailowynn, but I think your assumptions are in the right place, generally speaking. There is another, odd factor to consider; in one sense, each type of token becomes more valuable as the number of dice increase, but also it becomes less valuable. This is because as your quantity of defense dice increases, so do your odds of avoiding damage altogether without need of modification.

The best part of declarations like this is that "balanced" doesn't even have a particularly useful working definition in games like this

Good point. One definition of balance is that all pilots, upgrades, and squads of the same points value are equally useful. That would actually be quite boring in practice, I think; "I spent weeks tweaking this list!" would be exactly 50/50 vs. "I literally shuffled my cards!"
